I just saw a report that Iran hadn't yet received the SU-35s and and may never get them, even though it paid in full. Dunno what the problem is--Israeli pressure on Russia may explain it.

Does that mean there will never be another try at more Russian aircraft and maybe even BETTER than the Su35S like the Su-57 or Checkmate once Sisi and co. complete talks with the US and agree that since we don't want the outdated F-15, we will go for Russian state of the art stealth aircraft…

Quite an understatement I think….

...but he was one of the greatest politicians of his time.

In the end he got all Sinai back. That's fine, that's great. But just think of what might've been accomplished had Shazly been heeded, so outcome was more favorable to Egypt e.g. if Sadat had agreed to a ceasefire around the 12th. With a better bargaining position the arabs might've gotten a comprehensive settlement instead of a separate Egypt-israel peace.

The Egyptian company RES, which has developed and manufactured a number of drones locally, revealed during the Egypt International Aviation and Space Show #EIAS2024 smart munitions that are being manufactured for the first time in Egypt, including a Glide Bomb equipped with flight control and guidance surfaces (wings and tail) and a locally manufactured smart munitions guidance kit of the GWD-6 model, which operates with three guidance modes (GPS satellites / INS / electro-optical guidance system) and carries a warhead weighing up to 1000 kg and has a range of up to 50 km.

Standoff munitions are air-to-ground munitions with a 155 mm warhead equipped with a flight control set and a long-range PGK smart munitions guidance package, which the company has successfully manufactured locally. Its range reaches up to 80 km, while the guidance set weighs 60 kg and operates with inertial guidance INS and GPS satellites in addition to an electro-optical guidance system.

Small-sized smart air munitions, containing a warhead of artillery shells of 122 and 155 mm calibers, equipped with a flight control set and a smart munitions guidance package PGK - manufactured locally by the company - with a range of up to 30 km, while the weight of the guidance set reaches 10 kg and works with guidance via inertial navigation (INS) and GPS satellites in addition to the electro-optical guidance system.

Looking good. It is wise to purchase from both Russian and Chinese MICs as well as western ones. For a small nation that has part of a massive continental river and an important shipping zone with the suez canal you need to be prepared to defend yourself and this includes making yourself as invulnerable as one can from embargoes of any kind from any major power.
