Putin announced the completion of tests of the IL-112B aircraft

Tests of the IL-112B light transport aircraft are coming to an end, and two aircraft will be delivered by the end of 2021. This was stated on May 27 by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with the leadership of the Defense Ministry and representatives of the military-industrial complex (MIC).

"State tests of the Il-112B light transport aircraft are coming to an end, and two such aircraft are scheduled to be delivered this year," the head of state said.

But not a word of their serial production, & if the empty weight was 100% satisfying the military.
I suspect that the 2 test planes will be delivered this year, as it takes longer to build 2 more.

If the test builds pass the test putting it into serial production means the first few might take time but as they make more and more they will find shortcuts to improve the production to make it faster or cheaper and more efficient... that is what normally happens with any new product.

It is not clear but if the already delivered planes passed their tests then the next two will be the first serial production models, which is all good...

Since the last announcement that the EW was reduced & will be reduced more, they been tight lipped about it. That's why IMO they will probably produce more & use them at current EW until/if more improvements r made to the type, or a redesign is made.
The VKS has no choice but accept them as there's nothing else to replace its An-26s.

The fact that the emergency solution was ballast weight suggests it was not a weight problem as such, more a balance issue, which should be quite straight forward to deal with once identified... it is rather unlikely to require a complete redesign.

The primary delay is new engines so it probably comes down to how quickly they can get the engines into mass production... I would think producing such a light plane would not be that big a deal once the design is right.

This video is clearly narrated by an Ukr or pro-Ukr propagandist.   He spews all sorts of drivel about how this new aircraft can't possibly replace some
decaying Antonov model.   BS.   The usual parade of cherry picked experts braying about "Russian fail".

    1) Video starts off about this project pleasing "Russian turbo patriots" as if it is a Banderastan hoax project.

    2) The narrator drivels on about some 3 ton overload on the first flight.  WTF.   Was it fully loaded or was the fuel
in the tanks too much for the engines to carry.   Because everyone knows that Russians cannot into aircraft.

    3) Citing the clown selected "expert" Makienko the narrator spews some drivel about how horrible is the state of
Russian transport aviation.   Because obviously the IL-76 is a total fail.   The tone is pure "sky is falling" and
"end of the world".   No effort to discuss possible timeline impacts because it is assumed that fail will just keep
    amplifying.  Because Russia = fail.

    4) Next the narrator exposes himself as a Banderastan booster by claiming that Antonov has a much higher
technological level than Ilyushin when it comes to construction of transport aircraft.   He insinuates that Antonov
stayed on the ball in the 1990s while Ilyushin failed to catch up.   This is some breathtaking drivel.   Antonov is
currently making wood stoves.   The An-124 is a Russian product which Banderastan has been unable to even
fix since the 1990.   Antonov can't even deliver a couple of aircraft to Peru.   But we are supposed to believe
that Ilyshin cannot make updated aircraft.

    5) The narrator claims that Russia has not produced any new aircraft since the USSR period.   Yeah, because
there is Soviet vending machine still putting out new aircraft with the insertion of some kopeks.   The cited
expert shmexpert, Makienko (an Ukr name BTW), dismisses the IL-76 as a trivial upgrade.  What moronic
drivel.   It is a new airframe and actual production of a new aircraft.   Where is the Antonov production of
    new aircraft?

    6) The narrator talks about "Russian aggression against Ukraine".   OK, no point watching this dub of video taken
    from another source.

Don't know why people post such stupid shit.

But usually these YouTube channels are garbage, so are the people who post them.  And the people who liked it.

So much disinformation spread on this site.

The good thing you did was point out the BS in points.  Otherwise, people would take this video serious. And a Mod of this shit site, and someone else liked it.

I recommend that mod who liked it, retracts and explains why they did. We shouldn't be liking Ukrainian propaganda on this site.

Any new development will have some teething problems - that is quite normal. Even the Su-27 had to be radically redesigned, and from that it was developed into a aerodynamic masterpiece.

This is nothing new. I did not watch the video but to claim that the IL-76 is a failure is simply idiotic to say the least. It is one of the most successful transport planes ever!

If the guy is referring to the 90 upgrade - new more powerful and economical engines can only improve the performance?

But yes - there is a tremendous amount of BS out there today as anyone can post anything to support their opinion.

All the news we have say the weight problem has been solved and the engines had fixes applied to them.
They had a whole new team designing this aircraft with only one senior staff leading the team. The engines only became available after the airframe design was done.
So of course problems happened. But they seem to have been solved.

With regards to Antonov I would not diss their design staff but they clearly have issues. The Ukrainian industry has problems delivering working engines modern enough to be used in their aircraft and Antonov do not seem to have enough funding to push any of their new airframe designs out through the prototype stages, solve their problems, and put them into production. The An-140 has had several hull loss incidents. They still only have made one prototype of the An-178 while Brazil, which had no prior experience in the field, designed and built several prototypes and has managed to deliver four of them. The An-148 has been a flop. You could say their most successful new design is the Chinese Y-20 where the Chinese basically took their static prototype and actually finished it and got it through to production. Their major success is someone else's aircraft.

The Russian industry could design and build the MC-21 so they can clearly do a modern transport aircraft if they want to. It is all a matter of funding and priorities. For a long time the Russian industry was de-funded on the expectation Russia would buy airplanes either from the West (in the case of civilian transport) or Ukraine (in the case of military transport). Russia tried to keep their relations with former USSR airplane manufacturers but it simply did not work out. Now that they are doing their own thing I am fairly certain the problems will get solved eventually. Russia can do every single component in an airplane unlike Ukraine or China and they can fund these developments now that the state has sorted out its own internal finances and has had a stable financial outlook for well over a decade.

About a year or so before the Syrian campaign some defense expert journo wrote that the Russian Air Force had virtually no smart weapons capability, and it was widely published as well. Business Insider comes to mind but it was published in several online aviation news outlets as well.

Well we all know how easily that was debunked. Most of these drivel is just pure propaganda and it will never stop.

I would not be hard on the mods or the original poster.   My post was not meant as a criticism of either.   It is clear the video was posted for
the visuals and not the Russian language narration.   If the narration was in English, then the video would not have been posted.   I just
had to respond to the spew of propaganda in the video.

As for Antonov, the claim in the video that it is in better shape than Ilyushin and other Russian aircraft design bureaus (KBs) is a total lie.
Antonov got mangled by the 1990s just like the rest of the ex-Soviet industry and the narrator is spreading revisionist propaganda trying
to make it look like mighty Ukraine had its shit together.   It collapsed faster and is still collapsing but this time thanks to its own hate
    spasm.

PAK FA, PAK DA and "PAK TA" are real projects that Antonov and Banderastan cannot even dream about.   Banderastan has no jet fighter
production ability and Antonov is on its death bed.    The spew in this video was smearing the whole Russian aircraft industry.  Having losers
from loserstan preside as judges over Russian industry transcends ridiculousness.

If they care about their careers and do not want to transition into taxi cab operation, then they will move to Russia.   I doubt that
many jobs wait for them in the west and there is zero cultural and even linguistic transition when moving to Russia.   If they were
based in Kiev, then they all spoke Russian and were not western Ukraine village language purists.   Also, Russian KBs would not treat these
engineers as second class citizens and give them menial task like fetching the coffee.   If they were stars at Antonov, they will
be shining in Russia as well.

It is important to note that the hate for Russia is being foisted on most of Ukraine from abroad by the diaspora in Canada, Australia,
America and wherever backed by western intelligence financing of various diaspora organizations and academics.   Halichina and the
western Ukraine Polishified districts are not Ukraine.   So Antonov engineers are unlikely to avoid going to Russia based on political
considerations.   Highly skilled people on average have a better grasp of reality than low IQ hordes.

Don't know why people post such stupid shit.

But usually these YouTube channels are garbage, so are the people who post them. And the people who liked it.

So much disinformation spread on this site.

If it had been posted without comment as a useful and relevant piece of information then I would whole heartedly agree with you, but because it is rubbish but refuted by the person who posted it, it stops becoming information about the subject and more about the avenues of propaganda the west likes to use to denigrate the Russians.

Suggesting the Ukraine is an integral part of Russia is interesting... almost like they realise what a dog they have paid for and want Russia to take them back and that somehow the Americans/Ukrainians would be doing Russia a favour by letting Russia spend billions of dollars and the next 20 years fixing what is broken...

The fact that it was not perfect and that this means somehow that makes the Russians incompetent is also amusing... anyone who has any experience developing someone knows you don't go from paper design to serial production and that prototypes are a necessary step towards serial production... perhaps this is arrogant US influence because a lot of their programmes seem to have stumbled.... 16 LCS built, three Zumwalts of 32 odd expected, and over 500 F-35s made before the basic design is really signed off as working and bug free.... ridiculous.

Finding a patsy to say the new Il-76 models are terrible... 62 ton payload compared with the first Il-76 which carried about a 40 ton payload over shorter distances... sounds like a 50% increase in payload... that is outstanding... and being able to use the same basic planform and new wings and materials is really outstanding... I don't need to talk about how internationally successful the Il-76 design was... I wont even mention the US equivalent... the C-141, or the current example the C-17 which is more expensive to buy and operate than an An-124.

And then we have the aggression accusations from a country shelling its own regions and killing its own people... why should Russia approve such behaviour?

All the news we have say the weight problem has been solved and the engines had fixes applied to them.

Well they said they needed 2 tons of ballast for the prototype to fly, which sounds more like a balance problem.

The fact that they solved it with weight reduction is a good thing because reducing weight is always a good thing as long as safety is not sacrificed.

Russia can do every single component in an airplane unlike Ukraine or China and they can fund these developments now that the state has sorted out its own internal finances and has had a stable financial outlook for well over a decade.

Exactly, they have the ability to create new aircraft, they have the funding to do so, and over the next decade there are lots of transport planes they currently use that will need to be replaced, but also around the world quite a few of those planes will also need replacement too so there is an international market there as well.

About a year or so before the Syrian campaign some defense expert journo wrote that the Russian Air Force had virtually no smart weapons capability, and it was widely published as well. Business Insider comes to mind but it was published in several online aviation news outlets as well.

I would add another factor though, that Russia is happy to use a simple solution to a problem as long as it gets the job done.

That means avionics upgrades like the Gefest & T upgrade can allow dumb cheap iron bombs be used safely from altitude and still get the job done.

Of course the western media will complain but who cares... if you listen to those morons the Russians are targeting hospitals and schools and churches anyway...

It is clear the video was posted for
the visuals and not the Russian language narration.

    I thought that too.

Plus it is entertaining to see how weak their propaganda really is... they have nothing...

It makes you wonder how many of the key R&D team members of Ukrainian firms like Antonov are now quietly working away in a corner of a facility in Russia.

Or cleaning toilets and driving taxis in Poland...

Highly skilled people on average have a better grasp of reality than low IQ hordes.

They are also unlikely to be satisfied with minimum wage alternative jobs their new overlords in Poland expect them to start with... let them work their way up...

Russia to feature latest Il-112V transport plane at MAKS aerospace show

The aerospace show will run in the town of Zhukovsky outside Moscow on July 20-25.

MOSCOW, June 29. /TASS/. Russia’s state arms seller Rosoboronexport [part of the state tech corporation Rostec] will demonstrate the latest Il-112V transport plane and the Ansat-M helicopter at the MAKS-2021 international aerospace show, the company’s press office announced on Tuesday.

"In 2021, we have invited over 120 delegations from 65 countries of the world and are going for the first time to demonstrate Il-112V, Il-114-300 planes and Ka-32A11M, Ansat-M and Mi-171A3 helicopters, as well as the S-350 ‘Vityaz’ long-range anti-aircraft missile system," the press office quoted Rosoboronexport CEO Alexander Mikheyev as saying.

In the course of the aerospace show, Rosoboronexport will organize the demonstration of the Globus touch-sensitive interactive multimedia installation. "This installation will make it possible to get acquainted with 38 3D models of advanced military models, their performance characteristics and view photo and video materials," the press office said.

Rosoboronexport’s exposition will also include mock-ups of the Il-76MD-90AE military transport plane, the Mi-35M transport/attack helicopter, the Ka-52 reconnaissance and strike helicopter, the heavy Mi-26T2 transport helicopter and the Mi-17V-5 military transport helicopter [the export version of the Mi-8MTV-5 helicopter].

The MAKS-2021 aerospace show will run in the town of Zhukovsky outside Moscow on July 20-25.

The rehearsal of the flight part of MAKS-2021 was held without the participation of the Il-112V, 18.07.2021.

    Il-112V/Il-212 light military transport - Page 15 PSX_20210718_103642-820x410

Visitors to the MAKS-2021 air show will not see the new Il-112V light military transport aircraft in the flight program. The car is not ready for display due to a discrepancy with the technical specifications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

On Saturday, July 17, in Zhukovsky at the airfield of the LII them. Gromov, a dress rehearsal of the flight program of the MAKS-2021 air show took place.

The rehearsal almost completely repeats the first day of the exhibition. The air show began with a collective flight of almost the entire line of domestic helicopters, including the civilian Ka-62, Ansat and military Mi-38, Ka-52 and other vehicles.

The first day of the air show is unofficially called "presidential". This year, the flight program for the head of state and guests of the exhibition is focused on civilian aircraft: MC-21, Il-114-300 and Superjet 100. At the same time, a pair flight over the airfield of the MC-21-300 (73053) and MC-21 liners was demonstrated -310 (73055) - screenshot from video report RIA News.

In the "military" part of the flight program, the fifth generation Su-57 fighter, the MiG-35 and Su-30SM generation 4 ++ fighters, and the Yak-152 initial training aircraft were demonstrated.

The rehearsal was not hindered by bad weather - for almost half of the air show, the sky over the Gromov LII was covered with clouds, and at the end of the event it started to rain. Nevertheless, the program was implemented almost in full.

Attention was drawn to the absence in the flight program of the new Il-112V military transport aircraft previously announced for the demonstration flights.

Now the plane is in Voronezh, it was planned that it will take part in the flight program of the air show. However, after a meeting held at VASO on July 5, where Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov spoke sharply on future contracts for the aircraft due to its long unavailability, it was obviously decided not to include a demonstration of the machine in the MAKS-2021 program.

When the plane does not meet the requirements of the main customer, it would be strange to show it, and there is nothing to boast about.

It is not just an airshow, it is also an international market place... showing a product you want to sell on the open market makes sense even if the customer you made it for is not totally happy about it yet.

The main customer has higher standards than anything put out in the corrupt MIC in the west. If the Il-112V was such a
failed project it would be cancelled. Delays =/= fail. In this case it is probably some additional requirements being imposed
by the customer. Also, new aircraft and most other high tech products require and iteration of design and testing.

So any insinuation that the disinformation spew such as the one I posted on above is legit is BS.

The first prototype is overweight, the same was true for the first Tu-16. You can´t call that plane a failure.

In the US they would declare IOC, build three hundred of them as "low rate" run arguing they are necessary and afterwards can be easily retrofit, then realize that it is not easy to do the retrofit then just scrap them, without anyone even getting a reprimand for it and boasting all the time about how mighty they are... priceless Laughing

100%. Just because the intended customer might have some things they want changed or improved doesn't mean it won't suit a different customer already.

You forgot the part "taxepayers pay for them and politics and companies take the money, use 10% to build the planes and then realize it's a shitty program and destroy everything".

That explains why no one get reprimended. They are all corrupted involved.

They did exactly that a few years ago. The air force wanted a light cargo transport for wars like Afghanistan, close to the An-26. A plane was developed, 100+ build and... never put into service. The planes were brought to one of the desert bone yards and some of them later "gifted" to other countries.

Do you have the name of that plane ?

Most of their ground vehicles in Afg/Iraq were made specially for those countries and they left all of them there. It's quite common for the US to just throw away stuff and print more dollars to create new ones. And now they don't have to print them, just clic on a computer and refuel their accounts with billions.
