Well I suspect Russia might cut gas supplies off to an EU that actually tried to do that, and I suspect that would not be all they did...

I think last time one of Serbias neighbours took great pleasure in telling Russia that if it tried to fly VDV in over their territory in troop planes that they would shoot them down... but that was a long time and the Russian military has grown up since then and I don't think they would make the same threats this time around.
