If I understood correctly, both performed well. But most of the commentary is about the TOR which engaged 4 targets simultaneously.

Why is it using hot launch missiles?
I though cold-launch was the standard for Pantsir now?

What's the smallest target the Tor or Pantsir can engage?
Could they shoot down mortars or other artillery? What about a simple qassam rocket?

Well they shoot MANPAD sized targets moving at fast speeds, so I suspect it would not be a hard shot assuming it would be detected in time.
Qassam is doable for sure.

07/04/12 REPORT ON THE SHORTCOMINGS ZRPK "ARMOUR-C1"
If that is your argument, excuse me while I laugh my ass off.
That is his WHOLE argument. He probably came across a similar debate on some other forum and now came here to share his "wisdom"

Looks like MRL projectiles are part of it's target list..
According to the press service of the department, a new system based on "Pantsir-S" will be able to simultaneously run up to 12 targets, simulating cruise missiles and multiple rocket launchers.

Back on topic. How long does is take for the Pantsir to reload? Are the missile tubes themselves removed and replaced? Or are the fresh missiles slotted in?

Transporter-loader vehicle. Uses a crane to load missiles into place. They are however light enough to load by hand:

By the way, something funny:
Maximum overload ............................ 32 g
According to the manufacturers. So much for inadequate maneuverability lol.

Re: Pantsir-S1 News Thread:
"Most of the variants of Pantsir' (of an extremely wide range of variants, some unveiled and some not) are already set up to launch missiles with both the 170 mm diameter boosters and the 210 mm diameter boosters. This can clearly be seen by paying attention to the spacing between the missile canister mounting fixtures.

One of the forum users had asked for pictorial support for the above assertion. For this purpose, one of the many (200+) pictures that I have on my computer which fit the bill is reproduced below.
As it can be observed the cylindrical openings for the insertion of launch containers, in the middle row of each of the banks of missiles, are designed to be large enough for accommodating the missiles with the larger 210 mm diameter boosters (among other sizes).
By the way, there are a few variants of Pantsir' family (and also a few variants of KBP Germes family) that do not allow for the missiles with the larger diameter boosters.
In the variant of launcher pictured here, 12 missiles with 210 mm boosters can be carried.

For every two combat vehicles there is one 73V6-E transporter loader, so for a battery of 6 vehicles, there will be three transporter loader vehicles in support.
Part of the management of the engagements by the designated command vehicle will be to use ammo in a way that will allow continuous protection.

Not new, but in the video Pantsir crew officer claim, that Pantsir could fire with both guns and missiles on the move up to the speed of 30 km/h.

I voted for your post and picture.
Can you please post a Pantsir picture the clearly shows that it does not take the 210mm booster?
Thanks in advance.

It seems those exercises are far larger than just live firings with Tor and Pantsir.

Armenian,
Thanks for your vote.
As far as I know, variants like the one depicted in the following picture does not accommodate the missiles with the 210 mm boosters.

Re: Pantsir-S1 News Thread:
Belarus-Ukraine joint venture.
Range from 1,2-20km , 2 stage ,booster working time 1,5 sec , sustainer- 20 sec.
average speed 850 m/s ,load-25Gs,target max speed 900 m/s.
radio-command + ARH in development.
simmilar size and weight to pantcir.
So lets see... similar size and weight, similar range performance, lower target speed performance, less manouver capability, higher average speed over the full flight range.
Future promised terminal guidance system.
Surely if it is new it should be significantly better...
The vast majority of targets will likely be engaged at less than 18km so the added speed from the sustainer is largely wasted effort.

Re: Pantsir-S1 News Thread:
Anyway another spinoff of the pantcir is in development this time a "lite" version with smaller missiles and less ammo rounds, for amphibious troops.
http://lenta.ru/news/2013/06/11/panzir/
Read better. It's for airborn (VDV) units. It have to be lighter than standard Pantsir, that it could be air dropped with parashutes like all other BMDs.

Currently, only for S-400 defense.
Not sure what Army plan is, but I suspect they are waiting for new chassis. Or not, who knows.
Navy is apparently very interested in naval Pantsir.

Re: Pantsir-S1 News Thread:
Likely the Army will take Pantsir-S1 as a replacement for Shilka/SA-13/SA-9 first as the current systems of Tunguska-M1 are modern and still very capable.
It is likely however that the Army will introduce the Pantsir-S1 on wheeled and tracked chassis, though the wheeled chassis will likely be armoured like Kurganets rather than an unarmoured truck.
