The composition of the Indonesian Navy introduced the sixth amphibious assault ship dock
On January 21, 2019, the Indonesian Navy launched an amphibious assault helicopter docking ship BRS 594 (LPD 594) Semarang in Surabaya. The ship, which became part of the 1st fleet of the Indonesian Navy (Koarmada I), is equipped as a hospital ship (BRS) to carry out humanitarian missions, assist in natural disasters, and provide medical assistance to people in remote areas. Semarang was built at the shipbuilding enterprise of the Indonesian state association PT PAL (Persero) in Surabaya and became the sixth landing helicopter-docking ship (DVKD) in the Indonesian Navy and the third ship of this class built for the Indonesian navy on PT PAL (building number W000298).

Re: Indonesian National Armed Forces
Launched the first submarine of Indonesian construction
April 11, 2019 after the Indonesian state shipbuilding enterprise RT PAL in Surabaya, after repeated delays, the first diesel-electric submarine Alugoro built in Indonesia (side number "405") was launched. The construction of the boat is being carried out by the PAL RT for the Indonesian Navy with the assistance of the South Korean corporation Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) under its project DSME1400 (modified German project 209/1200). Indonesian Defense Minister Ramisard Ryakuda and Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy Admiral Civi Sukma Aji attended the launching ceremony.
On December 20, 2011, according to the results of an international tender, DSME Corporation signed a contract worth $ 1.1 billion to build for the Indonesian fleet three submarines of the DSME1400 project - a modified German project 209/1200, according to which it built for the South Korean Navy in 1980-1990 years submarines of type Chang Bogo, and which has license rights. The DSME1400 project (also referred to as DSME209) is an upgrade of the licensed project 209/1200 to approximately the level of the project 209/1400 submarines, with correspondingly increased length (up to 61.2 m) and a displacement (total underwater 1400 tons), the last two South Korean type boats Chang Bogo. Under the terms of the contract, the first two boats for Indonesia were to be built on DSME with delivery in 2016–2017, and the third was to be built (actually assembled from sections) with the assistance and technical assistance of the South Korean side at the modernized RT PAL in Indonesia. Surabaya with planned completion in 2018.
The Indonesian contract was the first breakthrough of the South Korean shipbuilding industry to the world market of submarine shipbuilding. It is noteworthy that in this case the South Koreans bypassed not only the Russian proposal to build two submarines of project 636 (including against the Russian loan), but also the proposal of the original 209/1200 submarine builder, the German company Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft (HDW), operating in the Indonesian tender in partnership with Turkish shipyards.
The main submarine for Indonesia, Nagapasa (tail number "403"), was launched by the DSME plant in Okpo on December 3, 2013, and the official bookmark ceremony was held on April 9, 2015. The Nagapasa launch ceremony took place on March 24, 2016. Factory running tests were started in July 2016, but dragged on, requiring the elimination of a number of defects (in particular, a shortage of full speed underwater was detected), as a result, the transfer of the Nagapasa boat to the Indonesian Navy was made only on August 2, 2017, with a delay of about nine months in relation to the contract period. The boat arrived in Indonesia on August 28, 2017.
The second boat Ardadedali (tail number "404") was launched at the DSME facility in Okpo in 2014, launched on October 24, 2016 and transferred to the Indonesian Navy on April 25, 2018, arriving in Indonesia in June 2018.
As for the construction of the third submarine Alugoro (tail number "405") under the contract of 2011 at the Indonesian enterprise RT PAL in Surabaya, it was started only in 2016 and was conducted at a relatively low rate, although 80% of the cost of the boat is imported. The launch of the boat was originally scheduled for October 2018, but was repeatedly postponed. The launch ceremony already scheduled for February 28, 2019 has also been rescheduled. Now officially commissioned Alugoro planned no earlier than 2021.
At the same time, the Indonesian Navy are carrying out plans to continue the construction of boats of this project in Surabaya. In early April, the President of PT PAL Budiman Saleh announced that his company plans to build nine more boats of the DSME1400 project and that negotiations are currently being completed with DSME to conclude a contract for the construction of the first three of these boats. Their construction is planned to be implemented within 77 months from the date of the contract.
The Indonesian Navy also has two submarines of the original German-built project 209/1300 Chakra (tail number "401") and Nanggala (tail number "402"), commissioned in 1981. Both of these boats in 2009-2012 underwent an average repair at the same DSME in South Korea.

According to Indonesian media, on July 14, 2020, the average landing ship Teluk Jakarta (tail number 541) from the Indonesian island of Kangean sank the Indonesian Navy, the former ship of the GDR fleet of project 108. The average landing ship of the Navy sunken as a result of the accident on July 14, 2020. Indonesia Teluk Jakarta (tail number "541") - a former ship of the GDR fleet of project 108 (c) of the Navy of Indonesia
Teluk Jakarta reportedly left Surabai on July 12 to carry out the routine task of delivering supplies to naval facilities in eastern Indonesia. On July 14, during a storm, a ship opened northeast of Kangean Island to open a leak. The flow of water could not be stopped, and soon the ship lost speed due to flooding of the engine room and sank at a depth of 90 meters at about 21 hours local time.
All 55 people aboard Teluk Jakarta were rescued - 54 people were taken aboard the container ship Tanto Sejahtera and later transferred to the new Indonesian frigate Raden Eddy Martadinata sent to the rescue ship(project SIGMA 10514), and another person was later raised from the water by the cargo-passenger ship Dobonsolo.
Teluk Jakarta is a former ship of the German Democratic Republic Eisenhüttenstadt fleet built in 1979 and one of the 12 Project 108 medium-sized landing ships (NATO designation Frosch I) built by the Peene-Werft shipyard in Wolgast. In 1993, after the reunification of Germany, these 12 ships, together with two Project 109 supply ships (Frosch II) built on the same hull, were acquired by Indonesia. Of the 12 units indicated, to date, the Indonesian Navy has already lost one Teluk Peleng ship (tail number "535"), which hit a concrete pier in November 2013; also KFOR Teluk Berau(tail number "534") was decommissioned in 2012 and then sunk as a target of one of the Yakhont supersonic anti-ship missiles acquired by Indonesia in Russia.
Various accidents remain the scourge of the Indonesian Navy - in particular, in September 2018, the Rencong missile boat (tail number "622", a 1979 South Korean built) burned out in a fire and sank into the sea near Sorong, West Papua; in December 2017, in the Strait of Malacca, a Sibarau patrol boat (tail number "847") sank in a storm after engine failure ; in May 2016, pushing against the hull of a sunken ship, Sumatra crashed and sank the corvette Pati Unus (tail number "384", the former small anti-submarine ship of the fleet of the GDR of project 133.1); in September 2012, in Banjuangi (East Java), just before testing, the Klewang whole- composite missile trimaran (tail number "625") of the X3K project, completed there, was burned up by the construction of the Indonesian Navy ; several boats of the Indonesian fleet in recent years have been lost as a result of hurricanes.

JAKARTA, Indonesia
Indonesia will purchase F-15EX jets from Boeing and Rafale fighter aircraft from France between 2021 and 2024, the head of its air force said on Thursday.
The country will also buy C-130J transport planes and medium-altitude long-endurance unmanned combat aerial vehicles, Marshal Fajar Prasetyo, chief of staff of the Indonesian Air Force, said at the annual Air Force Leadership Meeting.
According to the meeting’s summary document, Indonesia plans to buy 36 Rafale and eight F-15EX jets, with six of the latter expected to arrive by 2022.
Along with the new additions, the air force will also modernize its existing combat aircraft this year, Prasetyo said.
He said Indonesia’s defense procurement plans have undergone several changes in view of global conditions and the country's capacity.
“Despite having guidelines for posture, strategic plan, and Minimum Essential Force, the implementation is very dependent on various factors and conditions that keep changing dynamically,” Prasetyo said.
He explained that all stakeholders, including the Defense Ministry and the Indonesian Air Force, had analyzed and discussed plans to solve procurement issues.
“This is solely to facilitate our steps in obtaining the best defense equipment that meets operational requirements, commonality aspects, obtaining the transfer of technology, in line with the state's capability and the condition of the Indonesian Air Force,” he said.

Re: Indonesian National Armed Forces
Interesting development if true...
I wonder what combination of threats and tantrums and freebies had to be offered by the Americans to get that decision made?

Re: Indonesian National Armed Forces
Along with the 36 Dassault Rafales and eight Boeing F-15s, the wish list also extends to three Lockheed Martin C-130J Super Hercules transport aircraft, three Airbus A330 tankers for aerial refuelling, six MQ-1 Predator drones and Italy’s Leonardo early-warning radar system. ..Concerns have mounted since China passed legislation authorizing its Coast Guard to use weapons against foreign ships that are considered to be intruding into its waters, a move that could also be aimed at enforcing its unlawful maritime claims inside Indonesia’s economic exclusion zone (EEZ) north of the Natuna islands. ..The acquisition of the mobile Leonardo interdiction radar system will help to bolster Indonesia’s air defenses and, if positioned at a high elevation on frontier islands like Natuna Besar and Sebatik, could conceivably cover more than 500 kilometers of both air and sea, far beyond its EEZ.
They r following in India's footsteps & r so scared of PRC expanding South that there's no need for any US threats & coercion.
