Re: Polish Armed Forces: News
It is good they called them out on this incursion because if they had just shot it down Poland would have gone crazy saying it just got lost.
The fact that they denied it happened clearly shows it was on a specific mission so when it happens again and they are quick to deny it is happening... they can shoot it down then... because it is not there.

Re: Polish Armed Forces: News
First of all, one must take a closer look at the event with a connection of two Belarusian aircraft that violated the border a while ago.
Belarussian crafts has not been spotted by the Polish AD or army, but ... visually by some local population.
MoD tried to cover that first, only to blow the whistle after when it turned out to be impossible, civilians already has spoken.
Polish heli is clearly being monitored from the very beginning by some aerial recon tool - probably a drone.
See the difference?

Actually, we have some, and not necessarily Russian
Radwar produces a hell of a radars.
But you know, if one has to pay bribes so high, there are no leftovers for the local producers ...

The first contract provides for the supply of 138 iLauncher self-propelled launchers for 46 Narew anti-aircraft missile systems (three launchers each) and, accordingly, 23 batteries (two air defense systems each). The second - the contract provides for the supply of "more than 1000" MBDA CAMM-ER medium-range anti-aircraft guided missiles and additional equipment for these air defense systems, along with the transfer of technology. Re: Polish Armed Forces: News
A very interesting and much telling news.
Back in June, formal documents has been signed concerning increasing orders for artillery ammunition of 155mm and optional 120 mm mortar ones. A frame deal was just detailed.
Now some further details were revealed, which can help us do some math.
The formal order covers "hundreds of thousands" 155 mm rounds for 10 bln PLN - roughly 2.5 bln $
Ammunition is to be delivered in 2024-2029.
And the order is an end effect of "multiplying" Dezamet production capacity, which was cited to be "close to the war production level".
They operate a 700+ staff in a 3 shift system, 5 days a week.
A serious modernization project was carried in 2019-2022, making it equipped with some of the latest production lines in Europe.
Soooo ... we are talking a sub 1 mln rounds (and that is only if we consider a max toll for "hundreds of thousands"), to be delivered in 5 years.
Dezamet is one of the Europe's largest ammunition producers.
After upgrades, and working in 3 shift system, can supply less than 200k rounds a year.
Of different types - as was revealed in the documents - it is unclear to me if we are considering different types of 155 cal, or 155 and 120 cal combined.
For 2.5 bln $.
It makes a whole story of supplying Ukrs with 3 mln rounds in total by the EU military industry for 2 bln euro simply a fairy tale.

Re: Polish Armed Forces: News
Lets be super generous and say 300K projectiles are being made over a projected for a 5 year period from 2024 to 2029, for 2.5 billion.
That is a maximum of 60,000 shells a year for 5 years at a cost of about $8,300 per shell.
The factory is already set up and production line is working and workers are already trained so this is the cost of making a shell in Poland.
More importantly the entire reserve stocks of HATO and EU countries needs to be replaced with new build stuff that wont be any faster to make or cheaper to make.
The Russians were firing 60,000 shells a week in this minor conflict they are not calling a war.
The west has learned nothing, or they know the cost of real preparation would destroy their economies.

Re: Polish Armed Forces: News
No no no.
It is "hundreds of thousands" in total, that is why I put the number as high as possible.
If the order would hit or overrun 1 mln, that would have been named.
So we can talk about any number in < 1 mln range, so let's consider <200k a year.
It still makes >$2500 a piece ...
And is quite close to a number of $3200 per piece given at some point. The difference can be only because of the scale - nobody has ordered such numbers for years.

On February 28, 2024, the Armament Agency of the Ministry of National Defense of Poland signed a framework agreement with the Polish company AMZ-Kutno SA for the supply of 286 advanced wheeled combat reconnaissance vehicles LOTR Kleszcz ("Tick") to the Polish Army in the period 2025-2035. The first executive contract under this agreement is due to be signed this year.

One of our trustful newspapers just revealed, that Rheinmetall failed to fulfill 2022 contract for 50000 155mm ammo...
The reason is hilarious : they were to produce those in South African subdivision Rheinmetall Denel, but SA government blocked supply as probably heading Ukraine ...

What is hilarious here, are the given numbers ...
2 years are not enough to fulfill a 50k ammo order.
And it has been subcontracted to its division ... in Africa.
We are talking about one of the biggest MIC in the west.
Only 5 years ago, it would be called a bluff and Russkie propaganda

Re: Polish Armed Forces: News
I wonder if they produce Soviet calibre artillery ammo... perhaps Russia should order 300K shells in 152mm calibre to send to them when the conflict ends... they can put it into storage to replace shells already fired and as a thank you to Denel by giving them some work too... except I suppose it is German owned, so maybe some sort of reward that would benefit the workers who might suffer because of this... and the government that blocked the transfer...
