According to some reports US has deployed a squadron of F-22 Raptor somewhere in Japan. So, perhaps the Chinese government wants to procure Su-35S to counter the stealth raptor threat.

Anyway, even I'm not too worried about this sale. Russia has full right to sell  any stuff they have developed to any country they may deem perfect. Though I also think Russia knows what is best for her and her sister India in the long term for their respective safety

And one more thing, once India gets the Super Sukhoi upgraded flankers, they will most likely be more advance than exported Su-35S.

from a most reliable Chinese MIC insider , he said our air force has more than 2000 2th fighter(J7/J8) need to replace, but our industry can not produce that fast ,

they have interest in the structure of SU35 and engine, but they don't want the radar and russia missile, they want SU35 has ability to fire our own weapons and AESA radar , that's why the negotiation stuck

Airforce don't think SU35 can counter F22 .

about the lada submarine Navy want to learn single shell structure, and use in our future nuclear submarine , because all the submarines China build is double shell. they think single shell has more advantage

40N6 is the most important factor in S400 deal, If without 40N6 . S400 is just a little better than S300 . 40N6 seems never mature

It's 50-50 at the moment (either contracts are already signed and FSMTC is engaged in maskirovka, or unfortunately no deals have been signed so far). Same with Egypt's S-300VM btw. (FSMTC also denied the deal).
