Re: Yemeni Conflict: News
Beautiful. Meanwhile they continue to pump oil out of the ground at record levels and it's exactly what's keeping the prices low and hurting their own economy. Sooner or later they will summon a "technical" OPEC meeting and slash production levels which will make the price skyrocket. The Saudis and the US wanted to steer a Russian collapse like they did in the 80s. Old habits die hard.
While the Saudis have a much lower production cost per barrel, you have to think about the other countries within OPEC. If the Saudis continue to dictate their terms it will break OPEC into 2 camps. This has been predicted by a very well known paper IIRC. Don't remember exactly which one.

As I said, Saudis already burn more than 100 billion $. This is what worry the US, Saudis very quickly burn their reserves and sell back US bonds to get cash. Money flow get in wrong direction. Considering, that China also sell back large sums of US bonds, you could get the picture. US government need to sell bonds to get money, not to buy them back and throw away taxpayers money. with such trend US will soon not be able to finance its large military and wars around the World.

Re: Yemeni Conflict: News
Saudi as i said unlike russians they can't sustain economic hardships , moreover Russia produces stuff other than oil/gas like weapons etc meanwhile Saudi is totally dependent on oil buz. They still can sustain low oil prices for respective time since their break even price is cheap compared to Russia's but the problem is how long? With Yemen war and houthis busting their military from one side and low oil prices due to oil glut , together both these factors are working against Saudi-US 80's ideology of crashing oil price to harm Russia( its more of a conspiracy theory this time around). Saudis are selling T-bills and they are dis-investing money to run their kingdom. Their budget is already in 20% Deficit. Wih more gloomy days ahead , saudis economy will be hard pressed.
I'm not claiming they'll go bankrupt. I never said that but they are in trouble even western journos can smell the blood now.

lets see what they can sustain, i wont swing the magic ball pal and since the war is quite popular there even a 1% war tax could be placed if needed to get the funds, its just silly to think that they will stop anything of what there doing because of some dough, they wont

I never asked you to swing your balls to either sides. I stated facts to inform as what's exactly happening there.
Till now I thought Saudi is a brute military force in M.E. but gladly i was proven wrong.

It's not that easy, almost 15% of the Saudi budget is Desalinization process. There's a lot of money needed to run the damn whorehouse. And they lost 45% revenue stright up. So unless Saudi Arabie becomes a real economy, it won't last long enough to see the Assad get deposed.

Don't fall for propaganda
There's no link to the "newsletter" for TTU because it's an oldschool one (lettre indépendante et non-institutionnelle d'informations stratégiques et de défense), I.E. it's a paperback mail order only magazine (a newsletter... Internet didn't invent those), last edition has a big chunk of it dedicated on the Yemen conflict and the Shia Alliance.
It's considered as one of (if not THE) the best french civilian publication on military affairs.
And no I don't have that copy.
Woah! is it for real? Can you share any information or lead fro where we can read it ? Would love to read it. I went to TTU website but their articles are more of western parroted stuff.

RT in Spanish: Saudi Public Coffers are Being Emptied by Leaps and Bounds:
The Ministry of Finance of Saudi Arabia has been forced to close the national accounts a month earlier than usual, suggesting that it is strengthening the control over public spending due to low oil prices have created a large deficit in the state budget.
The largest oil exporter in the world is grappling with a budget deficit that could rise to 120 billion dollars or more this year, so the Ministry of Finance has taken drastic action against the excess costs, reports Reuters.
The export earnings from oil account for about 90% of the total income of Saudi Arabia and its budget for the current year is performed taking into account that the price of oil would amount to 104 dollars per barrel. But the collapse of the market of black gold, which in large measure was caused by decisions of the Saudis, has led to a big hole in their coffers.
The continuous decline in crude oil prices has forced the arab kingdom to cut its costs and remove billions of dollars that had been invested abroad, while on the other hand, the military campaign that the largest oil producer began in neighboring Yemen only has meant an extra pressure on their public finances.

Re: Yemeni Conflict: News
So was there any confirmed performance summary of last patriots use? We apparently had a video showcasing a massive launch of patriot missiles, and then word that they shot down 2 - 3 scuds out of 12 launched. So word on how many patriot missiles used per scud? Success rate seems pathetically low.

Re: Yemeni Conflict: News
I have no idea if these two reports from the last few hours are correct, as you can see its from Fars. No confirmation I can find ATM. If anywhere correct it is a major fail for the Patriot. There would appear to be Scuds hidden all over the place.
TEHRAN (FNA) – The Yemeni army and popular forces hit a strategic military air base in Asir province in Southern Saudi Arabia with Scud missiles, killing tens of high-ranking Saudi officers and commanders and destroying over two dozen F-15 fighter jets and Apache helicopters.
At least 66 high-ranking Saudi army officers, including two senior commanders, were killed when the Yemeni missiles hit Khamis Mushait air base in Asir province in retaliation for the kingdom’s aggression against their nation. The Yemeni forces also destroyed 17 F-15 fighter planes and 9 Apache helicopters. About 300 Saudi officers were also injured in the Yemeni missile attack on Khamis Mushait air base.
On Thursday, Yemen’s army fired a Scud missile at Khalid bin Abdulaziz air base in Asir province.
TEHRAN (FNA)- Yemeni Armed Forces Spokesman Brigadier General Sharaf Qaleb Luqman disclosed that a large depot of weapons sent by Israel for Saudi Arabia has been destroyed in the Friday Scud missile attacks on Khamis Mushait air base.

Those numbers sound way too damn high for there not to be video evidence.
