That UAV does not look terribly damaged. Didn't it crash during landing?

People said the same thing about the Saudi's, and they had way more money than the Azeri's...those oil revenues though.

Decent 1,5bil military budget for such small country.

Only enabled because of healthy oil prices, but oil per barrel is a fraction of what it used to be so the question remains will they cut back on military spending and spend on other parts of the economy? This is interesting because Azerbaijan is very fragile country ethnographically and geographically, they have the Armenians, they're majority Shia and their govt. is secular, they have border with Iran, they have Turkey finances instability in every country in or close to the near east, even in countries they claim to be their allies (that includes Azerbaijan). I'll go more in depth if I have more time...

Quite some unsettling development, people are mixed about it. Some my Armenian friends would actualy welcome squashing a lot of Azeris, others just want peace. I hope latter will be the case soon. If a large scale conflict broke out it could turn into a real mess and frankly I wouldn't side with anyone and I hope our gov isn't even thinking about getting involved in whatever shape or form.

The current military budget is actually the lowest in years. Last year it was $4.8 billion. Azerbaijani military spending are formed by two sections, the other being procurement activities. For the year of 2016, the budget for procurement activities was cut, obviously because of oil prices (2016 budget is based on oil price of $25 per barrel, currently the oil prices are around $40 however). And with the devaluation of manat first in late 2015 and in early 2016 for a second time, we have the current figure.
So in fact for all these years Azerbaijan carried out major arms procurement activities worth several billion dollars.
But one has to remember that there are $40 billion in Azerbaijan's oil fund currently.

Yeah i am aware of budget changes in Azerbaijani armed forces, however i refered to this year budget, as it probably wont grow for year or two. Unless there is a war i suppose.
