    That's a su-35...

There is no proof that the planes are from Russia neither who bought them because russia won't give them for free neither who operates them or fly them.

    US are not trustfull sources.

Pair of VKS Su-35s were escorting MiG-29s and Su-25s to Libya but they didn't stick around, they are back in Hmmeim AB now

I know about the su-35. Those images are all fake. How would have they taken pictures of them ? F-35 isn't that stealth ...

The migs were bought by UAE and Egypt. US are trying to involve Russia when it's actually their allies that are fighting their proxies there.

Russian fighter jets were recently deployed to Libya in order to support Russian state-sponsored private military contractors (PMCs) operating on the ground there. The Russian fighter aircraft arrived in Libya, from an airbase in Russia, after transiting Syria where it is assessed they were repainted to camouflage their Russian origin. “The world heard Mr. Haftar declare he was about to unleash a new air campaign. That will be Russian mercenary pilots flying Russian-supplied aircraft to bomb Libyans,” said U.S. Army Gen. Stephen Townsend, commander, U.S. Africa Command.

I saw a picture taken from the Libyan coast of black smock on the sea yesterday. Maybe this is the source of this tweet.

However nothing official has been said so it could be a fake image leading to tweets using it as a source.

If it was the case we would hear more informations.

Someone on twitter said GNA may be supplied by Turkey of a modernized S-125 to potect Tripoli. I wonder if it's true and they have no one able to operate it, they would need trained operators.

Hahahaha... first of all that is not unsafe... second... now we know where all the photos of Russian aircraft going to Libya came from.

Regarding Wagner.... I have a lot of sympathy for Mikes view here... ask an american what a short barrel AK-74 is and they will likely tell you it is a Krinkov... ask an american fanboy to identify an I-16 fighter plane and half will call it a Geebee racer... and the other half will call it Rata (the rat).

It is possible that the Wagner might be the last name of the CEO of the company or it might just be bullshit... a fictional counterpart to Blackwater.

Of course that is not to say ex Russian soldiers don't do contract work, but it becomes amusing that Wagner is everywhere and doing everything and has no competition... almost insinuating that it is Putins little private army... like Blackwater was being used by the Americans and still is...

That just looks like a typical cold war mid 80s camo job for the MiG-29 to be honest.... including the black paint in front of the cockpit and the radar nose colour... I think I have a plastic model that should have been painted those colours.... but with Red Stars on it...

    Not ours Gov! Honest!

But if it turns out they are, they are only knackered old ones returned to service by dilligent workmanship and by much sweat of the brow. lol!

BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:40 P.M.) – The Libyan National Army (LNA) spokesman, Colonel Ahmed Al-Mismari, denied on Wednesday that the military had acquired modern fighters recently. Al-Mismari said that old planes have been repaired by engineers and technicians of the armed forces and returned to service, stressing that they will enter the battles soon with full firepower.

In a direct speech, he affirmed that the relocation of his forces had caused great losses among the “reconciliation forces”.

Al-Mismari stressed that the Turkish intervention has become larger, and has become a dangerous escalation, explaining that they are ready to address this interference, as he indicated that swarms of Turkish planes are arriving in Misrata.

He pointed out that Al-Wefaq forces used civilians as human shields in the Ain Zara axis, south of the capital, Tripoli.

The U.S. military command in Africa “Africom”, has claimed that “Moscow has transported aircraft to Libya to support Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, commander of the Libyan National Army.”

Russia, in turn, has repeatedly denied accusations of involvement in the Libyan conflict, describing allegations of the presence of Russian mercenaries there as empty allegations, stressing that it stands with the peaceful settlement of the conflict in this country, and maintains contacts with the two conflicting parties.

Later, the Pentagon spokesman, Jonathan Hoffman, said that at least 14 Russian-made warplanes might be in Libya. Hoffman answered during a press conference a question in this regard, saying: “With regard to the number and types of aircraft, I do not have accurate data, but there is about 14 Su-24 and MiG-29 fighters at the moment. This is all the information I can share with you.”

The United States had previously claimed that Russia was facilitating the transfer of fighters from Syria to Libya, while the Russian side has repeatedly denied such statements, which Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov described as rumors.
