In Russia this sound is known as "gornaya musika" it it similar to other ethnic music from mountainous regions.

The festival "Scarlet Sails" is held in St. Petersburg as a celebration of graduates of St. Petersburg schools. the festival was first held in 1968. The festival is a musical and pyrotechnic, theatrical performance.
One of the special features is that during the festival only russian composers music is played.
