With Sukhoi fully loaded for years ahead, Mikoyan may be the only option for foreign air forces to buy low priced (due to the low ruble) Russian fighters for shortish term delivery.sepheronx wrote:Militarov wrote:sepheronx wrote:might be ideal if they get the companies to compete as it may give Russian MoD a better deal + sukhoi may come up with something better.
Although, Mikoyan hopefully gets some deals as they need it.
Thing is that Mikoyan is in deep s.hit, even this Russian MiG29SMT order was to help them keep afloat, except those MiG29Ks they havent got decent order in....decades. Unless they soon get some good solid money for project or good amount of orders they might disappear O.o
I thought the sale of the MiG-29K's and those SMT upgrades and UPG made them a lot financially more stable than before?
I bet they will save Mikoyan by ordering the MiG-35's and give further upgrade orders. They wont let Mikoyan stop existing since it is quite important.

Export versions cost the same. The value of ruble doesn't give any advantages to the foreign buyers.

Re: PAK-FA, T-50: News #3
How about this radical idea - lets get back on topic. MiG =/= Sukhoi T-50 last i checked.
Slide from February 2014;
Top speed tested with open bays is only 800km/h (even Su-47 went supersonic with open bays, why are they screwing around) and top speed achieved overall is M1.7. What is 1000km/h though? - "supercruise" speed? I hope not...
Had 17 contacts with "Il-76" (obviously Il-78) tanker and 3 fuel transfers. RCS goals achieved and maneuverability past forth generation, probably meaning Su-27 in this case, not Su-35S and Su-30MKI/SM family.

Thanks Berkut, also wonder what the blurry pics hide. Would the 800 and 1000km/h figures be IAS? They don't kiss up with M1.7 do they?

^^^ Yup, 2 years ago. It would be weird if they designed aircraft that is inferior from the get-go to model from the 80's.
I would definitely like to see current numbers though...
I know, fat chance....

Information passed by MoD or developer themselfs are always wrong for security reasons. They are all classified to high degree especially when such parameters and data are crucial for tactics. Remember the information NII Stali gave out about M829A2 can penetrate T-72B at 6km range equipped with Kontakt5? Well if that would be true they certainly would never ever be allowed or stupid enough to give such crucial information out and would smother any informations that could leak such "facts". Information are given out either as advertizement, missinformation, or rough figure if they are bound to some specifications.
I am sure that is something that everyone can understand.

Even if it is from the "insider", I rather doubt this is real, or just simply very washed and sanitized numbers.
It is not that hard to create info-graphics.

Guilebility won't make you more educated on anything like that.
Tests are tests and tested in restricted regimes to start with low intensity to test everything before moving on to intense and hard tests to push it to its limits, figures from several years in still low test phases won't give you anything worth discussing or believing in its capabilities or limitations.

Being original is very good; being gullible is very bad.
Don't have time to repeat stuff hear. Go to to the threads on Status-6, or Armata, or ... and look at my comments on this kind of matter; that may give you an idea about the nature of "slides for the MoD".

Re: PAK-FA, T-50: News #3
They are at between 800-900 in total now. So 400-500 more since then.
Lemme see, what should i pick between;
a - Actual slide used for MoD presentation on the progress of the T-50 testing.
b - Random internet dudes claiming with no reason and no proof whatsoever that the slide and the info is fake despite evidence suggesting it clearly is not. Probably the same people that goggled up the "scanner leaks".
Hmm. Damn, really difficult pick this one.

You are just another random dude on the internet that posts info graphs and hails them as something more than they are.
Scepticism is what is always needed when it comes to politics, economy, history and military information, but you can of course believe in pure colours without shades or grey areas it is totally up to you.

Not necessary to have a debate at all - it is just an interesting snapshot into timeline of testing at a particular time, even if 2 years old. But alright - i will now to keep in mind to post only information and pictures that are no older than 1 hour in this thread. IE never post anything ever, i am sure others will be able to pull the slack.

Seems more like people are surrounded by yes men to often and as soon as someone disaggrees they act like someone is touching them inappropriate.

You are disagreeing on straight out moronic grounds and you have yet to prove in any shape, form, or way, that the picture and info is tampered with. Burden of proof is on YOUR side.
