Probably but in limited numbers, to be used for training of pilots for PAK-FA family like SU-30M2 is for modern T10 family fighters.

But Su-30SM2 are being used as combat multi-role fighters...

SU30M2 has main role of providing training for modernised SU-27SM squadrons and preparation for SU30SM. But sure they still have kept their combat capabilities. I expect same to be with possible two seater on PAK-FA platform.

ooops apologies I meant Su-30SM (not SM2) ...but do you think that 2 seater PAK -FA will be added as fully pledged combat aircraft.

Well hard to say. French decided to make majority of their Rafales in two seat wariant due to their experience that modern airstrikes are way to complex and long to be performed by single pilot.

But on other hand you already have many SU30SMs and more to come which are two seaters, SU34s are also...two seaters so i dont think there is big need for more two seaters. However in future maybe. But i dont think it will ever be a big thing in RuAF except for final training and adaptation.

As with most trainers they can always be used as fully functional multi-role aircraft.

EDIT: Oops, did not see your correction. Embarassed

This might be interesting to see how it develops. From one side more demanding environment so 2 pilots might be better option but from the other side...automatization and finally everybody talks about 6gen drone-fighters...

AFAIK 7th prototype was produced some time ago and is used in ground tests, not flying.

Got all the sensors, some glass treatments, and maybe a modified tail boom. It looks more refined.

Is that a new sensor under the fuselage, forward of the pilot's feet?

Well, the glass orb behind the cockpit is a DIRCM, and I assume the one in the lower red circle is the DIRCM for the lower hemisphere. The other protrusion marked with the yellow arrow is likely the ground targeting optical sensor.

I would rather say, that sensor, which you mark with yellow arrow is MAWS sensor, 1 looking forward down and 1 looking backward down. I would say, there is also MAWS sensor up and right of number 6 behind the cockpit looking left and right. MAWS sensors looking forward up and backward up should be placed in the tail sting like in the previous prototypes (I think 054 have all 6 MAWS sensors).

    True.

It's probably the best way to have easy acces to the engines without takin them out of the plane.

    You're right.

Sexeh plane & great comparison pics of old & new prototypes sunny

Some new bits of edge alignment & detail cleanups.
New ventilation holes in the equipment bay above the LERX/canard flap things (is there a proper name for those yet?).

Radiation sign next to the side radars & on the tail-cone, is this the first with those mounted?
I really like the way this plane is not just stealth, super-maneuvrable, big payload & range but they are doing new exciting things with sensors Cool

Is there any functional reason for the orange/red stripe on the side of the inlet? It seems pretty incongruous dunno

I don't want to dig around, but supposedly the other prototypes had the full radar suite, just not all the stickers.
