Selling BPC's to China? Trolling would be redefined by that move. Arming the Chinese to properly attack Taiwan?
Pretty much and now their allies in the South East Pacific are alarmed if the news is true.
China’s amphibious assault ships will begin to build in 1 or 2 years, Mistral is too small ,China's ship will be 36,000tons
It's not just that, China will get a 'deep look' at the design of the ship, plus Russia has the blueprints for the Mistrals and China could get some good intel about it's design, capabilities, technology, etc.
China stands to gain a lot, and lose nothing for being the 'middle man' in this.

What I don't get is why can't Russia or China built their own Mistrals. Are Russia and China that behind France in terms of weapons technology?

I think Russia wanted to be nice to France and have a bit of a trade relationship going, I am sure Russia could build a Mistral class carrier if they wanted too, but France already had the appropriate shipyard so why not do a bit of trade.

IHS Jane's 360 wrote:SACEUR, analysts see Russia renewing invasion of Ukraine in next two months
Reuben F Johnson, Kiev - IHS Jane's Defence Weekly 10 May 2015
A consensus is building among NATO officials and military analysts of the situation in Eastern Ukraine that Russia will renew its invasion of the region in the next two months.
However, there is also general agreement that the attack would take only after the 9 May Victory Day celebrations in Moscow, which President Vladimir Putin regards as reaffirming Russia's continued position as a "great power."
The predictions of a new Russian offensive by analysts have coincided with similar statements by officials such as NATO Supreme Commander, USAF General Philip Breedlove. Gen Breedlove testified to this effect before the US Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) on 30 April, stating that the sometimes on-sometimes off ceasefire agreed in February after the second round of Minsk negotiations had been utilised by the Russian forces to "reset and reposition".
NATO's assessment, he added, is that the Russian military's goal is to secure the gains made on territory already taken in the Ukraine Donbass region, as well as to deploy for the launch of a late spring attack. "Many of their [the Russians'] actions are consistent with preparations for another offensive," he said, adding that Russian forces' activities were not just exercises but "preparing, training, and equipping to have the capacity again to take an offensive." The Kiev-appointed governor of Lugansk region plans to cut all road transport between Ukraine and the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic. On Friday, almost 170 freight trucks were prevented from crossing the border.
“Soon any crossings of the disengagement line [between areas controlled by the Ukrainian government and the rebels] for transport, including cars, will be cut. All motorways will be blocked. An exception would be made only for pedestrians,” said a statement published on Gennady Moskal’s website.
Moskal, who was appointed as the head of “civilian-military administration” of the Lugansk region by Kiev, was reporting the seizure of two trucks, which were “illegally” transporting beer to the rebel-held areas. A video of the episode was published on YouTube. Continue reading.ostunt wrote:

Re: The Situation in the Ukraine. #13
"Russian invasion". What retarded rubbish articles.
Invasion is what the US did to Iraq in 2003 and I would say did to Libya and Serbia in a different form by deploying
military assets over their territory. Russia has not deployed any assets (e.g. force units) in Ukraine outside of Crimea,
and there it did not even send in any that were not there according to treaty.
Military advisers and hardware are not an issue since NATO has been sending these to Ukraine since last summer.
They only openly admitted it later. Last year the supply was ex-Soviet equipment from the former Warsaw Pact
members (Poland, Hungary, etc.) This year they are sending actual western equipment.

So the US advisers are training the Kiev regime "National Guard" which is composed of Right Sector militants
and has nothing to do with the proper Ukrainian army. You will recall the National Guard was created after
the February coup in 2014.

And maybe ask for some M1 Abrams since there is no doubt that the M1s are no longer the most advanced and best tank as of a few months now. Hell, while the NAF is at it, they may as well ask for some F-22s and/or F-35 seeing as they aren't the most advanced fighters anymore too seeing as the Novorossiyan Air Force needs some functional warplanes.Neutrality wrote:Cowboy's daughter wrote:2015-05-11 - Large Column of US Military Vehicles heading toward #Lugansk

Omg Kasparov is so dry and out of touch it sad. You have to be pretty nuts to think Putin is going to invade Poland, NATO would have to attack first for something like that to happen.

There was not a single day where M1 Abrams was ever the best nor most advanced tanks. The entire concept of M1 lost against Leopard 2 and they were just on par with T-72B and T-80U in their days while today i will take anyday Leopard2A6, T-90A,T-90MS, Merkawa Mk4 or ZTZ-99A2 over any version of M1.

M1 Abrams were most advanced tanks in service.... decades ago... I would give this title to Leo 2a6.
