I think most of those guys are Palestinian 1948 refugees from Daara camp , they have no reason to die for some obscure goals.

The Syrian army offers the militants to surrender before the start of the military operation

    http://ria.ru/arab_sy/20151004/1296749349.html

CAD, October 4th - RIA Novosti, Mohamad Alaeddin. Syrian Air Force helicopters dropped leaflets proposed terrorists lay down their arms, and civilians - to leave the settlement, which in the near future to begin a large-scale military operation of Syrian troops. Propaganda texts were dropped on the south of the province of Hama on settlements and Talbisi Rastan, reports from the scene correspondent of RIA Novosti.

Leaflets distributed by the Syrian military in the settlements Talbise and Rastan

Distributed two types of flyers. Some contain detailed instructions on how to behave when approaching the checkpoint of the Syrian army, and also call for civilians to leave their homes due to the upcoming military operation.

"The owners of this leaflet is allowed to overcome the roadblocks of the Syrian Arab army in complete safety. The Army will provide medical care and food. Cooperate with the Syrian army and leave the war zone for the sake of their own lives" - is written on the flyer for civilians.

The second leaflet main control of the army and the armed forces of ATS proposed citizens of the republic, who sided with the terrorists lay down their arms and abandon opposition to the army.

"The future in front of you, and open the possibility to return to the embrace of the motherland. Take advantage of this opportunity is too late. Lay down your arms, as did hundreds of others. The government will take care of you and will welcome your return," - written on the second leaflet.

On Thursday it became known that the Syrian army is preparing for a large-scale anti-terrorist operation in the southern province of Hama, including the settlements grow and Talbisi, which today are controlled by militants of terrorist groups "Dzhebhat al-Nusra" and "Islamic state", the total number terrorists is more than 5 thousand people.

The original purpose of the Syrian command - to protect the road connecting the large Syrian cities of Homs and Hama. The cities themselves are completely under the control of government forces. However, a settlement between them are considered the main stronghold of terrorist groups, including the IG in this part of Syria. The route is regularly shelled by mortars and enemy snipers.

If you want to post graphic content , just put link (not inserting the image) and write big letters "GRAPHIC 18+" so that everyone can know what to expect. This is general rule on forums.

The same bullshit as "freedom fighters" there, "Moderates" here, Pro-russian rebels over here, "oppressed Opposition" somehwere else.

They are not Assad forces, otherwise Obamas regime forces are killing Assads non armed non moderates on the ground aka civilians.

Either you people do not even know how such terms are used to manipulate peoples heads to believe in something and a specific narrative to create a prejudice against someone to destroy any future credibility for that party/fraction.

Calling everything regime, while the empire itself calls only in high tones is a good indication of who is actually the bad guy, psychological warfare.

mack8 wrote:If only that will turn out to be true. Initial rumours were talking about a chinese deployment in 6 weeks (well, five weeks now). Some posters at chinese orientated forums agree that this will be a golden opportunity for China to gain experience and flex it's muscles. The american empire won't decay just by waiting and doing nothing, action is required. Together with Russia and Iran mess their entire ME nest of GCC puppet states, China can get all the oil it wants from Iraq, Iran, and from Syria they can get gas, if need be (not to mention Russia). China today has a more numerous and in general more modern air force compared to Russia (but the modernity gap is closing steadily) and a very competent UAV industry, surely they can easily deploy 50 aircraft like Russia did, if not more.
Is there any reliable indication that China is considering deploying forces to Syria? I have heard quite a few people talking about this, but to me the idea seems to have gained traction because many American fundamentalist Christians believe that China and Russia fighting together in a war in the Middle East is part of their silly interpretation of the Book of Revelation, so they are pushing the idea. I concede that I might be wrong, however.

To my knowledge they still do not have domestic videly distributed system of such kind, i belive Rostec obtained licence to produce Sophie MF system multipurpose binocular which allows target designation too, but i dont think its widespread in service.

    https://www.thalesgroup.com/sites/default/files/asset/document/28.%20SOPHIE%20MF_0612_UK_THALES.pdf

They however do have wide range of designators to be used with artillery laser guided ammunition like Krasnopol, Smelchak, Gran. 1D22, 1D20, 1D15, 1D26 probably few more exists but they are all quite heavy 20+ kg for lightest.

But i am not sure about them being used for laser guided aircraft ordinance, i never heard of such use tho you know, laser beam is a laser beam.

New Ratnik system however will have multifunctional binocular with i assume target designation capabilities, but i really dont remember its name or designation, its here on this pic on the left, if someone knows its designation share with us.

It doesn't seem like it. All the sources have been questionable to say the least. They certainly won't be sending their carrier. The whole carrier hype was an absolutely ridiculous "theory" to anyone who knows anything about the Chinese military. Liaoning is not fully combat ready yet, they are still training.

Does Russia have target laser designators, the equipment forward air controllers use?
Could be helpful when SAA uses them.

They certainly do, but from what the reports seem to suggest these targets are being engaged deep behind enemy lines and satellite guided bombs are being used against fixed targets of known locations.

For this job a UAV orbiting around the target area filming the results of the attack is all that is really needed.

For supporting front line troops fighting on the front line with the enemy then laser target designators can be used by both ground forces and UAVs to mark targets of opportunity as well as moving targets to engage with laser guided bombs and rockets.

The Kh-29L in particular is a very powerful laser homing missile with a 317kg HEAT shaped charge warhead designed to damage heavy structures like bridges and fortified buildings and would devastate any enemy bunker.

The Kh-25ML would be effective against smaller or lighter structures with a 90kg warhead.

They however do have wide range of designators to be used with artillery laser guided ammunition like Krasnopol, Smelchak, Gran. 1D22, 1D20, 1D15, 1D26 probably few more exists but they are all quite heavy 20+ kg for lightest.

1D26 Atoll weighs 13kg in combat position and is a ranger designator.

Normally ground forces carry laser target marker/designators in vehicles, but the aircraft themselves often have marked target seekers as well as their own target designators.

It is interesting to note that the Russian laser guided artillery shells sold to France are fully compatible with French target marking equipment.

The process to do this is already in place with hundreds taking part. The Conciliation process.

They surrender to the SAA and after a couple of minutes 're-orientation' they join the SAA. Sorted!

We are hearing about the destruction of many C&C, communications, munitions and POL bunkers and hardened storage facilities.

Are these ex SAA sites that have been taken over by 'activists'? Or are they buildings that they have constructed for themselves? If the later how have they done it without the construction site being targeted?

If the former, it is clearly not a problem for the SAA/RuAF to know exactly what weapon to use and where to impact it, they have the plans!

There actually is no FSA. They split up months ago with the majority of them going to Isis. The rest went to Al Qaeda. Only Kurdish forces exist separately ie. YPG.
