TEHRAN (FNA)- Internationally wanted ISIL Commander Abu Seif al-Iraqi was killed in a counter-attack of the Syrian army near Deir Ezzur Airbase in Eastern Syria, intelligence forces declared on Sunday.
The sources said that the Syrian army troops repelled the ISIL terrorists' offensive in Deir Ezzur airbase, and launched a counter-attack to push back the ISIL militants, which resulted in the killing of over 15 terrorists, including al-Iraqi and his two aides Ahmad Haboush and Siraj Al-Deen Jasseem Al-Ayadeh.
Abu Seif Al-Iraqi was reportedly wanted by a number of governments around the world for committing terrorist acts and funneling weapons into Iraq during the 2003 US occupation of Iraq. The Iraqi government has wanted this terrorist for over 7 years.
