It is not acceptable to post photos or videos of dead bodies on this forum without proper warning...

This is warning number one... there will not be a warning number two, that will be a three day ban...

Also the images were hotlinked... please do no do that.

Second guy is reportedly Salahudin Al Baljiki. He's "Belgian", and yes PM63's are among the most numerous non Russian AK's.

    i) Apologies.

ii) I have no idea what hot-linked means.

iii) I could say I would expect better troll management too, but I won't

iv) I've just noticed the second word of the text before the images is 'dead' - that is surely a warning that images of dead bodies follow?

    i) Apologies.

Accepted. I did not think you were trying to offend.

ii) I have no idea what hot-linked means.

Hot linking is linking directly to an image on another website. The image is stored on the hard drives the other web page is stored on so when you link directly to that image you are using their bandwidth and their hard drive space, but not opening their web page. In other words you create work for their storage without giving them traffic.

Imagine I build a website and put photos on it... I get revenue from advertisers based on how many people visit my site and how often. If you come to my site once and copy the links to where on my server I store my images and then go to ten blogs and ten forums and post links, there might be thousands or even tens of thousands of people viewing my images, but none have been to my site.

When they open my images they are uploaded from my servers to the webpages the viewers are viewing those images from... but as only one person visited my site my advertisers might not give me any money even though my pictures are popular and widely viewed.

Plus all that extra traffic slows down my website too.

We have a system for downloading images to your computer and then uploading them to a media storage site so that the source location is not leeched for media.

iii) I could say I would expect better troll management too, but I won't

One persons troll is another persons person with a differing opinion. From what I can tell the people who are being accused of being trolls just had higher expectations and were upset by certain occurrences... not going to ban someone for that just like I have not banned you despite clearly breaking our rules twice. (NSFW material and hotlinking).

iv) I've just noticed the second word of the text before the images is 'dead' - that is surely a warning that images of dead bodies follow?

Verbal warnings are not good enough if the image is displayed... you need a verbal warning on the link to the video or image so the member can choose whether to view the video or image or not. With posting the images below the text they will see the images whether they want to or not.

Images need to be hosted on an image hosting site. Download the image to your computer and then upload it using the buttons above the text area when writing a new post.

I am not trying to embarrass you, I would normally discuss such things privately via PM, but in this case I think all members need reminding some times that the visitors to this website have the right to not be confronted with offensive material... that means porn and dead bodies from any side.

Obviously the real world contains such things and a website about war cannot ignore the evils of war and its consequences, but keep in mind that some members here don't want to see dead bodies, including those that have been through conflict and have a very real understanding of war that someone like myself can never understand... tucked up safe and sound a rather long way from war and conflict.

This is not a discussion, it is an explanation.

If you need to discuss this further then please PM me or if you have a problem with how I am behaving please talk to Vlad or another moderator.

As far as I am concerned you broke the rules twice and you got a warning... not knowing what hot linking is, is no excuse... it is bad behaviour on the internet.

It look like Saudi coalition is defeated in any ground battle. They failed in another offensive and half a battalion got killed. I wonder how much arms, ammunition and other equipment Houtis and Yemeni army capture in this battle.

I had expressed a fear of the latest RPG-32 reaching terrorists hands due to its production in Jordan...of all places a production unit in Jordan was a bad decision. Hope these have not found its way to the terrorists in Syria as major battle for Idlib and Raqqa is not too far away.

If things gets bad, that production & storage facility in Jordan need to be bombed.

It's time for Russia to file legal action against the shit-hole Jordan, and potentially revoke the license to produce. If that doesn't work, there's a 95% chance of raining Kalibr's in Jordan's weather forecast. Twisted Evil

This is OT for this thread as it is Boko Haram in Africa (no Africa section on the site) but it is such a brilliant piece of military gear, really stripped of all surplus parts, that it is very easy to imagine the FlipFlops in the front seats. Genius

Why and how? If you want to take action, there's talking in stern voice to the US and explaining that it's not nice, in return the US will go mongobongo on the fat king with the model wife. The problem again is that there's nothing more that can be done nicely. There's the delay option, delaying the warhead parts for Jordan, because technical difficulties, but nothing else.

Also Houthis start getting Kornets now, so really who cares for those Jordanian waterguns....
