Re: Syrian War: News #11
The SAA and allies plus Hezbollah, should just focus on cleaning Syria for now. They can deal with Israel later, the Jews are cowards, they will hit you when you are down but when you are ready for a fight, the Jews will start crying(we saw this in 2006).

Are you trying to say that Russia would happily increase its reliance on other countries (better allies of Russia than Belarus) on certain military components?
Everyone is able to understand why Russia does it after the experience with Ukraine and the US-Israel promoted coups. Everyone knows this is not because of faults of the government of Belarus.
Just few months ago someone posted video of Lukashenko having a speech at Minsk automobile plant bragging how "Russians depends on our products and they cant do whatever they want with us" - its not a citation.
Or when he in 2014. said how Russia is trying to "deprive Belarus of its independence" and called it "terrorism at the highest lvl". Or maybe in 2014. when Belorusian army was set on high alert and he said on TV how "No tries of destabilisation of Belarus will be allowed", guess what or who he was talking about. Poles maybe? Ukrainians?
Or when he was threatning to leave CSTO few years back, and keeps doing so now and then, just few months ago he said (this is citation): "Now we are thoroughly analyzing our participation, first of all, in the Eurasian Economic Union. If the situation remains the same......”
Gas price conflict lasts almost for a decade now, Belarus is getting gas at the discount price, yet they want it even cheaper, and it goes on and on for years. Every year they annoynce: "Russia and Belarus near agreement on gas issue".
Every time there is any conflict with Russia Lukashenko cant solve he calls IMF envoys for "negotiations" and then Russia steps in and gives some loan, deletes some debt, buys out some shit they produced and cant sell, closes one eye to Polish and Ukrainian food that is being repacked in Belarus and exported to Russia and similar. Now they are again in Minsk.
So please that story about how Belarus is great ally of Russia, or its gov. as you set it yourself... sell it to someone else.

Positive move forward.
Russia is holding negotiations with influential Kurdish politicians in Syria and is acting as guarantor of their talks with the Syrian government on federalization. Kurdish politician Ferid Sedun has revealed to Sputnik some details of the ongoing negotiation process at Russia's Hmeymim Air Base in Syria.
Ready to Table Proposals for Constitution Referendum at Syria Talks in Astana At the end of December, Russia invited 24 Syrian Kurdish parties, including representatives of the Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) and the Kurdish National Council (ENKS), for talks at its Hmeymim air base in Syria's Latakia to discuss the upcoming peace talks in Kazakhstan. Nowadays, it is holding negotiations with influential Kurdish politicians and is acting as guarantor of their talks with the Syrian government on federalization, Kurdish politician Ferid Sedun told Sputnik Turkiye.
He said that he has come from the city of Al-Qamishli in northeastern Syria on the border with Turkey to Damascus to discuss a set-up of a federative system on the territories of residence of the Syrian Kurds. "Several days ago Russian representatives came to Al-Qamishli where we held talks. In continuation of these negotiations they offered to expand the negotiation process and to set up our meeting with the Syrian leadership," Ferid Sedun told Sputnik.
Moscow at 'Center of Decision Making in Syria While US is Out in the Cold' "Russia has also invited us to its Hmeymim air base in Latakia and we have accepted it," he added. The politician explained that he together with two independent Kurdish politicians have come to Damascus with the aim to gain progress in negotiations with official Damascus on the set-up of a federative system and to pave the way for further talks on the issue between the representatives of PYD and ENKS with the Syrian officials.
Ferid Sedun said that within two days he is scheduled travel to Hmeymim base for talks with Russian representatives and then to return to Damascus for talks with the Syrian leadership. The issue on the agenda is the set-up of the federative system of government. However he further specified that it applies not to the whole territory of Syrian but only to the territories of residence of the Syrian Kurds. The Kurdish politician outlined that Russia is acting as guarantor of these talks and is paying much attention to the negotiations. "We have made a decision to come to these negotiations because Russia has voiced of its role as guarantor of this negotiation process," he said.
He further explained that Russia has an opportunity to have effect on the Syrian government which is uneager to grant certain rights to the Kurdish people. "Russia is telling us: voice your suggestions and we will discuss them with the Syrian government. If Damascus offers to grant you autonomy, agree to it. The status of autonomy is a good opportunity in current circumstances," the politician said. He further added that the solution of the existing problems with the Syrian Kurds will "ease the burden" of the Syrian government, thus Russia is eager to solve the Kurdish problem.

If one, maybe Armenia, which for sure will be also despised too here, by the rare species of "pro-Russian" commenters that can call Turkey or Israel close to Russia despite their attacks to the true ally of Russia in the area that is Syria.

And still some one will say here that Russia is in agreement with Turkey. Someone will say that Russia and Turkey are both in true love.

Re: Syrian War: News #11
I am following this war from its beginning. And probably this war is the most complicated war in the history that being allies or foes and related definitions are much much "grayish".
Russian strategy was constant from the beginning, and even they saved Assad to be slaughtered by armed groups, like what they did to Kaddafi in Libya.
Turkish policy, however, assumed that any kind of war that will be consequence of Assad's extreme measures against the people would remain as it is and would not turn into a tricky US policy to destabilize the region. That is why now so many people thinks that Turkey promotes terrorism and fighting with it at the same time.Due people not to think the second is real, because it is in conflict with the first, they start to think Turkey as an another agenda in the region, which is correct, but for every country.
Now,most of the rebellion Arabs are suspected and even though Turkish Army work with some of those in Al Bab, they wont lead Syria to any kind of exact solution.
Unfortunately, Arabs are paying the cost of believing Lawrance of Arabia.
And they wanna still believe,at least, some of them.
I hope desk of Astana will not be kicked and classical British policies in the region will end soon.
(ISIS, and affiliates...)

I do not know "100 better allies" to Russia than Belarus, and none of those would be either Turkey or Israel, especially not Turkey. But what i am saying is that blind belief that Belarus is 100% ally to Russia is abit misleading itself. I would actually rather say at this moment Syria is more of an ally than many of countries we take as granted as Russian "ally". Maybe even Kazahstan would be ranked above Belarus on my personal list.
Belarus will soon start playing by the similar rules Serbia is imo. And i belive you know Serbian foreign policy.

Re: Syrian War: News #11
The Syrian government’s negotiator Ahmad Ghadban was killed on Saturday by militants in Barada Valley, a source in a security agency told Sputnik.
BEIRUT (Sputnik) – Ghadban is said to have been shot from a sniper rifle when he was going with a maintenance crew from the Ain al-Fija water pumping station.
After Aleppo Liberation In late December, terrorists blew up a water pipeline in the Wadi Barada area, which was used to supply the Syrian capital with drinking water. Al-Nusra Front militants also seized the Ain al-Fija water pumping station.
On Wednesday, January 11, the Damascus province governor said agreements had been reached with militants for engineers to access the Ain al-Fija facilities and on repair of the water pipeline in Barada Valley. A few hours later, militants denied that any deals had been reached with the Syrian leadership. On Friday, Syrian state media reported that the Syrian army and militants of the armed opposition agreed on a truce in Barada Valley.

I doubt it seriously. Moldova maybe, being also isolated between pro-West countries, but not Belarus. Unless some coup. Not sure if you know how despised has been and is still Lukashenko in Europe, in the last 25 years. He has not been considered better than Al-Assad.

I was reading that Turkey has withdrawn some of its forces and reduced strikes since RuAF and SyAF are bombing the areas quite aggressively near Deir Ezzor.
If that is the case, then it is good to see such cooperation.

Only thing Russia can trust is forced submission of turkey, nothing else. Forced on regular basis.

So do you guys think that we will we see a tactical retreat from Deir Ez-Zor, and the recapture of Palmyra area and perhaps Al Bab as a trade-off?
Or do you think the SyAA and (some of its) allies will fight to the last man ?
In my mind, Deir Ez-Zor was always going to be hard to hang on to in the long run, even if there was a military advantage.

Deir will fall I said this a few weeks ago even got the timing right. (Even said to expect ISIS to push onto that position exactly how they did) back Deir is required for them to spilt Syria so it will collapse.
The SAA cannot do anything about this based on their positions and their lack of forces let alone airborne.
You can pretty much see how this will start to end US backed forces will control that part of syria, Assad will hold onto the other half.

poor souls in Deir Ez Zoir they would be better to fight to the death as ISIS will only torture them to death, I always thought the Deir Ez Zoir problem was always left exposed and wasn't a priority for the government which is a shame as these soldiers have shown great loyalty they could have joined the FSA, ISIS or any other group but they didnt despite their dire situation they remain dedicated to stand and fight and have done a brilliant job over the last few years. But attrition and overwhelming enemy forces has got the better of them so far, but if there lucky they might be able to hold out for a while longer but the chances of being liberated are very slim if not nil. Striking a deal might be the only option now but ISIS are unlikely to do a deal and even if they did they couldn't be trusted. I think if ISIS get it it will be their next caliphate capital as Ar Raqqa is under threat. The government left the effort to liberate Deir Ez Zoir way to long, and now its too late. Lets hope luck is on there side and they can end the ISIS assault.

Re: Syrian War: News #11
They aren't exactly being left alone. RuAF and SyAF has bombed the area for quite some time today. The issue is that US' little game they played helped ISIS gain so much territory and thus allowed them to separate between the airbase and the city. It will be just much harder now for reinforcements and supply drops.
