Graphic summary by key dates of the Syrian army operation in Idlib until the ceasefire agreement negotiated by the Russia and the Turkey (phase 1: May 6 - August 31, 2019; phase 2: Dec 19, 2019 - March 6, 2020).

I wonder if the two antennas are for 1 radar or is it two radar which will be weired to have two same radar at the same place.

Interesting that they seem to be synchronised... ie they are pointing in the same direction.... a video would be interesting because if they are spinning and spinning together it introduces the interesting possibility... if one is transmitting and also receiving, but the other is only receiving the signal from the other radar as it reflects off targets... it would be like a bistatic radar... effectively increasing the reception of the signal by greatly increasing the effective area of the antenna... the way they do with multiple radio telescopes looking at the sky...

This is actually rather interesting... being so close they could be connected by high speed fibre optic cable to synchronise operations to achieve effectively a synthetic apeture radar... with radars that are already quite huge...

    Interesting...

Or it could just be photoshop...

MOSCOW, March 10. /TASS/. Two Syrian Pantsyr air defense missile/gun systems were damaged in Turkey’s attacks. They will be repaired soon, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.

"As a result of mass attack by Turkish combat unmanned aerial vehicles, two Syrian Pantsyr air defense missile/gun systems were damaged," the ministry said, adding that repair works were nearing completion.

Turkey’s statements that its drones destroyed eight Syrian Pantsyr air defense systems are not true, the Russian top brass added.

"Reports submitted to Turkey’s head of state about the combat efficiency of the use of armed unmanned aerial vehicles in the Idlib governorate, which allegedly destroyed eight Syrian Pantsyr air defense missile/gun systems, have nothing to do with the real state of things and are nothing but an exaggeration," the ministry stated.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, most of Syrian air defense systems, including the Pantsyrs, are deployed near Damascus, with only four Pantsyr systems being used near the Idlib de-escalation zone.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated earlier on Tuesday that Turkish drones had destroyed eight Pantsyr air defense systems of the Syrian armed forces in Idlib.

Video showing thermal images from gunner's position or commander's position inside a t-90 firing at target 3km away (maybe not but there is a number in the camera that seems to indicate laser rangefinder measurment).

Videi in the twitter link is smaller and shows directly the t90 camera.

A new video was released by the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) 25th Special Mission Forces Division this week, showing one of their spies filming from the provincial capital of Idlib.

In the short video, which was shared on several networks, the Syrian Army spy films from the entrance of Idlib city, showing a road sign that has the names of other major cities like Ariha and Saraqib.

Where are the used condoms a.k.a. White Helmets? Where are all the whiny howler monkey cunts from Twatter? I remember 4 years ago they were screeching to 'Save Aleppo' from secular rule in favor of goatfucking Jihadi-toilet rule? Everybody from SJW cunts (aka comfort women/men) from the far left, to the jihadist apologists on the far right on Twatter were defending rule by terror...and they're no where to be found with this shit popping up!

    Syrian War: News #22 Siria%2Bcosas%2Bde%2Binter%25C3%25A9s%2Bbandos

Basically Turkey lost about half of "Greater idlib" territory control  since Syrian army began its operation..
in January 2020. and with the new 12km buffer zone around M4 ,the line of no advance will become that
highway. above m4 controlled by turkey and under m4 controlled by Russian military/with syrian army behind. Smile

Now if syria capture the city of jisr-al shughur.. that is at the end of m4 highway...and the gate to latakkia..
that will be good enough to declare a permament cease of fire and no longer seek to advance more through force,
and recover the rest of idlib through diplomacy ,with a new government in power.. as the opposition to Erdogan is,demanding leaving Syria and restoration of relations with Assad.

the remaining trouble zone, will be a zone near jordan border ,that US military have a base. and any new government could use to start a new offensive or continue advancing. also the oil fields in kurdistan that belongs to the kurds to remove americans from there.

green and blue zones north of m4 highway can be recovered with diplomacy.. south of m4 ,already were agreed.
so terrorist will still lose the southest part of the green in the map under m4 highway ,that goes to the west.

when the danger for syria will end ,when jisr al shughur cityy captured by SAA and American base near jordan
too.. it can be captured with iran help.. of those ballistic missiles.. lol1 US military will not stay in a zone
missiles can easily fall on their heads.. and wound them.

Yes the one at the youtube video, for example at minute 10.

I would suspect most would be Krasnopol strikes, but you could probably work it out for yourself... the Su-24 and Su-34 strikes will be a 250kg bomb so big explosion and large flash/fire, while Krasnopol strikes are 152mm artillery shells with about 20kgs of warhead of which about 6kgs will be HE in about a 50kg shell that will be a fragmentation round... so lots of impacts on the ground throwing up dust around the point of impact and a puff of smoke...

Of course in the movies you see big fire balls and you know the bad guy is dead because when the fire ball of the explosion touches the car he is in it explodes too... of course in the real world a car does not need to explode for everyone inside to be killed by fragments turning the car into a sieve from what looks like a puff of smoke miss by several metres...

According to russians, syrian buk launched 25 missiles at turkish drones. They destroyed 20 of them, 3 missiles missed and i don't understand about the two other. It's a 80% Pk against drones.

On their official website they say a 70% Pk against cruise missiles which is a similar target than those turkish drones in terms of size.

Yes. But it seems koral has no effect on buk. Maybe because it uses other radars for early detection and turn on guidance radar at last moment. The system is spread in a big area with many subsystems working togather and each has its own radar making jamming impossible on all the radars.

Pantsir on the other head has everything on one truck and syrian had very few of them. Normally there should be 6 of them and other radars for early warning. Syrian use them alone as they covered a large area with only 4 of them. They can't protect each other that way and jamming is more successfull.

Ground jammers are also the worst solution to jamm a ground air defence system because it is also affected by radar horizon.

Syrian top crews are right now better trained than most russians. They spent the last years on alert 24/7 against Nato/israel attacks and were even engaged by very small missiles. Russian were never engaged in such scenarios. But some are also very untrained like the crew of that pantsir that let it in the middle of the airport being attacked by israel.

Russians however have better stuff and more of them. They also have the advantage of having the engineers that are russians and that can train the crews better. The r&d teams must spend lot of time with them too explaining them in details how everything works.

As a reminder, durig egypt/israel wars, a team of soviet pilot instructors wanted to show to the egyptian how to use their jets against israeli and they lost the engagement while the egyptian were aware of the tactic used by the israeli and would have not fallen in the trap.

I find it unlikely that a jamming system could have no effect on a medium range SAM system with lots of radars, but be claimed to be effective against a short range system... especially when both are being credited with higher effectiveness rates in real combat conditions than their makers advertise for them...

The BUK system has search radars and separate tracking radars and optical back up options in cases of intense jamming just like Pantsir does... the main difference is that BUK uses SARH or ARH missiles while Pantsir uses command guided missiles which should be much harder to jam.

The number of vehicles and whether they can protect each other has nothing to do with whether they could be effectively jammed or not.
