Tenth "Rook" passed the Russian Navy
Yeah, AFAIK there is no information on it floating around.TheArmenian wrote:That new corvette is the Project 20386. A newer version of the Steregushy (20380) and Gremyashy (20385).
Interesting. Hopefully we will see a mock-up or a picture soon.
Zakharov said that prospective corvette will have a constant, basic weapons and combat removable modules that will extend the range of problems solved by the ship. The designers are also interested in the appearance on the corvette drone, "but with this issue all the moves are not as fast as we would like," admitted deputy designer general "Almaz". He said that the problem is related to the introduction of drones into general airspace of Russia and associated regulatory issues of aviation security.

After upgrade 30-40 years of life is good and impressive , similar to Gorshkov class

Yes, a few people can reply to your query. They include Sergey Shoigu, Dimitri Rogozin, Admiral Chirkov and a few others.
But I doubt they will

Plans can change. The most important things is that Russia will not scrap remaining two and that says a lot.

Very, and twelve is a whole lot more than I expected... Those plus the Gorshkovs/other-frigates and new submarine fleet, and the Russian Navy is looking a whole lot more powerful! Plus, the first model arriving in a decade isn't as bad as I thought it would be...Werewolf wrote:Sounds nice.
300? Is that right? That is considerably more than the Bofors 57 mm model, not bad, not bad at all!TheArmenian wrote:Burevestnik is the manufacturer of various weapons system.
Among them is the new A-220M naval gun of 57 mm featured in the below video (from 4:50 onwards). They claim the rate of fire is 300 per minute with a range of 16 km.

The A-220 (single barrel) is capable of firing 111 pounds of explosive down range every minute, assuming it fires the UOP-281 round.
Obviously, that means the double-barrel version will be able to lob 222 pounds of explosive a minute, not bad considering it can reach out to 16 km!
12 km is more likely, but the 57 mm Bofors can "effectively" reach out to 17 km and that fires a much heavier round. Even though it will use more propellant, I'd be willing to be that it still cannot fire as far within consistent range.TR1 wrote:Mike E wrote:So, I found out this gun will fire the same round as the S-60...

I don't think it will be reaching out to anything like 16km. That is 76mm gun territory.
