After Granit hitting ground targets I would call it ''no surprise whatsoever''

OK but not sure which one? This is the one I think. It also should have been in the other thread. I have copied this part across with more information that I tracked down..calm wrote:@JohninMK

Also an amazing firework display in the embedded video from what looks to be an official SDF/Kurd related location.
I can see the 'normal' tracer but what is the munition where it suddenly goes skyward? Also why all the rounds just going apparently aimlessly into the sky?

Another version of the SDF advance where they complete the surrounding of ISIS. Could be both sides of the river co-ordination going on.

Re: Syrian War: News #15
Seems they want all their anti ship weapons to have a land attack capability.
Not that hard considering most of them had active radar homing anyway so being able to target land targets with radar should not be a huge stretch.
From memory the Kh-35 had a MMW radar sensor so attacking ground targets should not be a huge problem...
The Kh-35 can be carried by Helicopter (Ka-27 series) and aircraft (Flanker, Fullback, and Fulcrum in their upgraded versions) but also by some light ships.
I have not read of any sub launched version but would not be surprised.

Re: Syrian War: News #15
The opposition forces, obviously not stupid, move the join the clear winners.
The Russian Defense Ministry said that militants who used to fight against Damascus have agreed to side with the Syrian government troops.
Seven militant field commanders and more than 1,000 fighters in Syria agreed to side with the government troops, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Thursday in a statement.
“An agreement envisaging that seven field commanders of illegal armed formations and more than 1,000 militants subordinated to them will side with the Syrian government troops has been achieved,” the statement said.
The civil war between the Syrian government forces and various opposition and terror groups has been raging in the country since 2011 with the forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad fighting against numerous rebel and terrorist groups, including Daesh and al-Nusra Front.
In June, 60 members of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) have joined the ranks of the Syrian government’s army and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) the backbone of which is the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), according to information obtained by Sputnik.

Could be fake, like the claim about capturing of T2 last month.
maybe some kind of message to Americans.
But we will see. Some reliable sources reported the same last night.

Could be a move with bad timing in an interesting town. I would not have thought that ethnic cleaning (we suspect it is happening in sundry villages) was good before any Kurdistanisation of Syria was underway, if ever.

Re: Syrian War: News #15
Confirmation of river crossing by Reuters. Its just very strange that virtually no local blogger is claiming it, I can only find this guy https://twitter.com/ejmalrai who mind you is pretty good. The SDF guy below seems to be aiming his comments at the northern end of Deir but I can't see why the SAA would want to cross up there.
Still don't understand why the SDF have not struck south to cut off the oil fields. Perhaps the Russians have quietly warned their leaders that, unlike the Americans, they will be embedded in Syria for the next 50 years so it is very much in Kurdish long term interests to keep the Russians sweet and that means leaving the oil field alone for the Government to take.
BEIRUT (Reuters) - U.S.-backed Syrian militias will not let government forces cross the Euphrates River in their bid to recover eastern Syria, their commander said on Friday, but Russia said army units had already done so near the city of Deir al-Zor.
Syrian government forces supported by Russian air strikes and Iran-backed militias, and a U.S.-backed alliance of Kurdish and Arab fighters, are converging on Islamic State in separate offensives around Deir al-Zor.
The government side has advanced into the city from the west. Last week, they broke an Islamic State siege of the provincial capital, which sits on the western bank of the river.
The Deir al-Zor military council, fighting as part of the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), has meanwhile advanced toward Deir al-Zor from the eastern side of the river since launching an offensive into the province a week ago. Military council commander Ahmed Abu Khawla warned government forces and their militia allies against firing across the river as his fighters close in -- something he said had happened in recent days. “Now we have 3 km between us and the eastern riverbank, once our forces reach the area, any shot fired into that area we will consider an attack on the military council,” he said. “We have notified the regime and Russia that we are coming to the Euphrates riverbank, and they can see our forces advancing,” he said. “We do not allow the regime or its militias to cross to the eastern riverbank.”
But Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the Syrian army had already crossed.

As i said, MOD claimed that T2 is captured 2 months ago and also said that SAA is 20km from Abu Kamal. Nothing of that were true. Yes, i do not trust her on this. She is not a GOD.
You're the intoxicator here, attacking everyone who have different opinion.
