Obviously, but a situation of escorting strategic bombers or auxiliary aircrats over hostile territory would be part of the small part of their flying life where would be better to use supersonic speed.

Syria is not a very dangerious scenario (low air defense density of the adversaries and air interdiction for adversary aircrafts) but this is not something always will happen.

Think that reads as totals, not one aircraft doing 140 sorties. There was a photo with a 50 sortie plane, pretty good going.

And #USA is moving #ISIS away from Syria and allies guns for a safer area east of the Euphrates and won't declare #ISIS defeated because it will have to end its occupation of northern #Syria

This picture shows the Russians holding back Assad as Putin starts walking to a military ceremony by the look of it. There is an interesting Russian in this picture. At the back of the group and in the frame slightly to the left of Putin's head dressed in a parka. That is 'briefcase' man, never far from the Boss. Actually he seems to be part of a team of 'briefcase' men as another takes over in Turkey later in the day. They both look pretty 'useful'.

So what aircraft do you guys think will stay in Syria? And ships? I am guessing Su-24 and Su-30 mixed in with the MiG-29SMT? Need some air superiority mixed in with some ground capabilities.
