Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded the 77th anti-aircraft missile regiment of the Russian Armed Forces the honorary title of "Guards" for the mass heroism and bravery of its servicemen. The decree on this was posted on the portal for the official publication of legal acts on October 25.
"For mass heroism and bravery, fortitude and courage demonstrated by the regiment's personnel in combat operations to defend the Fatherland and state interests in armed conflicts, I decree to award the 77th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment the honorary title of "Guards" and henceforth to call it the 77th Guards Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment," the document says.
The decree of the head of state comes into force on the day of signing.
Earlier, on September 18, the title "Guards" for the heroism of military personnel was awarded to the 11th Red Banner Army of the Air Force and Air Defense, as well as the 51st Combined Arms Donetsk Army of the RF Armed Forces. At the end of August, it was awarded to the 15th Coastal Missile Brigade .
