Graham, Menendez Outline Bipartisan Russia Sanctions Bill

    https://www.lgraham.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/press-releases?ID=DC74E2D3-EB29-4349-8849-393D5EA0BC3E

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senators Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Bob Menendez (D-N.J.), Ranking Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, today announced they are working on comprehensive legislation that will enhance sanctions pressure on Russia while bolstering the capacity of the United States government to respond.

“We are fully committed to ensuring Congress maintains an active role in both confronting Russian aggression and ensuring that the Executive Branch takes the necessary steps to protect the U.S. and our allies. That is why we will be introducing comprehensive legislation in the coming days to ensure the imposition of mandatory sanctions under CAATSA, while levying additional sanctions to ensure the maximum impact on the Kremlin’s campaign against our democracy and the rules-based international order.

“Just as Vladimir Putin has made clear his intention to challenge American power, influence, and security interests at home and abroad, the United States must make it abundantly clear that we will defend our nation and not waver in our rejection of his effort to erode western democracy as a strategic imperative for Russia’s future.

“We hope to build momentum in the coming days and be joined by more colleagues on both sides of the aisle in support of this important effort.”

    The Senators’ legislation will include:

Increased sanctions on the Russian energy and financial sectors
Increased sanctions on Russian oligarchs and parastatal entities
    Sanctions on Russian sovereign debt
Sectoral sanctions on cyber actors in Russia
Establishment of a National Center to Respond to Russian Threats
Senate approval requirement for U.S. withdrawal from NATO
Bolster effort to counter Russian disinformation and hybrid threats
Establishment of a sanctions coordinator office at the State Department
Reporting requirements to tighten sanctions implementation under the Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAATSA)
Authorizing assistance to bolster democratic institutions across Europe to defend against Russian interference

They are already threatening customers for Russian military equipment, not to mention sanctioning them and everyone they trade with... I say it is time to fight back.

Step one... stop respecting any copywrite laws regarding US products... and set up some hacking farms to actually attack the US... if they are going to accuse and punish then you might as well to the crime if there is no choice but to do the time.

Second do some investigations into all the senators that support tougher sanctions against Russia... there must be plenty of dirt in their closets... and then once you have a lot of it then either just release it and destroy them or tell them you have it and that if they don't stop being assholes it will be released...

Analysts have no idea what will or is happening.

They suspect that foreign demand for Russian bonds would be zero, which is not true. Same exact specialists believe that Russia defense sales would drop to zero too. But little do these specialists know, is that US does not control majority of the world. India, Iran, Pakistan, etc have all told the US to take a hike and that their laws do not correspond to thier respective countries. So Russia could promote its bonds to these markets and other banned markets.

The US Senate introduced a new package of anti-Russian sanctions

    https://ria.ru/world/20180802/1525842653.html?referrer_block=index_main_1

[quote]The document proposes to introduce new restrictive measures, including against the Russian national debt. In addition, the bill provides for sanctions against Russian politicians and businessmen.

"The current sanctions regime could not keep Russia from interfering in the forthcoming midterm elections in 2018. Our goal is to change the status quo and introduce crushing sanctions and other measures against Putin's Russia," said one of the authors of the bill, a Republican senator Lindsey Graham.

According to him, the proposed measures will be "the heaviest ever introduced."

The new sanctions will remain in force until Russia stops cyber attacks on the US and changes its policies in Syria and Ukraine, Graham added. Direct responsibility for this senator lies with Russian President Vladimir Putin.[/quote[

Yes, but we are talking about a nuclear superpower where the legislature engages in Orwellian revisionism
via law. Supposedly it was Russia that funded Daesh (ISIS) and other jihadi terrorists in the middle east.
Only in America could such demented rubbish be considered credible. Of course the sycophants in the EU
and elsewhere will swallow this sh*t with a relish as well.

    My suggestions to Putin:

    1) Stop the sale of Russian rocket engines to Americans and their associates. Immediately.

    2) Consider severe export tariffs on Titanium. Make it more expensive than platinum or palladium

    3) Stop all intelligence cooperation.

    4) Stop any dialogue with NATO. Shut down any offices in Brussels that deal with such dialogue.
If NATO needs to communicate, then it can do it through ambassadors and leaders. Lower level
    engagement is ridiculous.

    5) Tit for tat sanction major NATO construction and resource extraction companies. Tit for tat
sanctions on NATO politicians and activists.

Add to that stop buying aircraft from Boeing and stop any further negotiation on START or INF.

Put a clause that START and INF will die a natural death till all sanctions are removed , Stop cooperating with US on space program.

State dept. employee claims $10 billion worth of sales stopped so far. Sure the big dogs won't cave but the smaller nations will, which is in effect a successful containment for the growth of Russian arms sales and geopolitical reach. Do I believe the $10 billion figure? Nope. But somewhere in between.... $4-5 billion sure.

Russia's at war with the American MIC. They'll pass any sanction law to avoid competition from growing and strong arm whomever they can. While at the same time milk the Russian threat to rob the American tax payer blind. After all, they get 100's of billions a year to buy every American politician or anyone for that matter that pushes policy or information in the global arena (think tanks, journalist etc).

Very good suggestions. The US will have no manned access to space for many years unless the Chinese give them rides.

As for the MIC racket noted by ATLASCUB, Russia should lay on some pain to the USA as well. The US likes to terrorize
3rd parties to gets its way, maybe it is time for Russia to finally use its energy weapon.

BTW, those chimps and baboons who occupy the US lower and upper chambers of the legislature are under the terminal
delusion that the US has vast amounts of fracked oil and gas. By squeezing the EU Russia can bring this whole school
    or primates down.

How true is this breakthrough of TN Reactors thing by US ? Does Russia have similar project ?

    https://topcor.ru/2085-izobretenie-amerikanskih-atomschikov-vyneslo-rossii-prigovor.html?utm_source=finobzor.ru

    For peaceful purposes:

    1. In total for 12 kilograms of fuel, one reactor installed on a lorry will be able to provide electricity to the city for a year with a population of 100,000 people. Such reactors can be used in remote areas of developing countries.

    2. KTRs can be installed on civilian ships and aircraft, increasing the distances at which they can operate smoothly.

    3. With the help of reactors, the cost of seawater desalination can be reduced by 60%.

    4. The possibilities of programs for space exploration can be radically increased.

    For military purposes:

    1. KTR can be installed on US submarines, increasing the range of their course and depth of immersion.

    2. Thermonuclear reactors can be delivered to US Navy aircraft carriers, extending their time in the waters of a potential enemy.

    3. KTR can be installed on military aviation and drones, including combat aircraft, which will be able to fly for almost unlimited time.

If the Lockheed Martin program is implemented, the US will have a huge military and economic advantage over all rivals.

Yes its clearly a War on Russian MIC , As Russia developed advanced conventional weapons at cost effective prices and once US realised that even NATO and Gulf Allies were buying it they panicked ! They could not compete so they used Sanction as a Tool to scare these countries ......Cant get more ridiculous !

I rode a high-speed train in Russia — and it was cheaper and more convenient than taking American trains

Conclusion: Russia's train system is a fighter jet by comparison to America's messy rail infrastructure. In this case, I was one of a few hundred people quickly, conveniently, and safely transported to Moscow at a great price.
