AMT company will build a whole village using a 3D printer.
Resident of the Skolkovo Foundation (VEB Group.Russian Federation), AMT company, started building the village using the S-300 field construction printer. Plots of land with a total area of 1.5 hectares near Yaroslavl have already been purchased for innovative homes.
Now the first of twelve houses is being completed. According to preliminary estimates, the cost per square meter is about 20 thousand rubles. A house with a total area of 46 square meters without finishing (with a built-up area of 64 square meters) will cost 914 thousand rubles. The construction of the second house will allow you to make an accurate schedule of construction work, showing significant savings in labor costs: a cottage with an area of 100 square meters is planned to be assembled in 30 hours. The third house will demonstrate the capabilities of a construction 3D printer in terms of complex shape.
These houses already have water, electricity, and sewerage. All subsequent ones will also be connected to communications, put on cadastral registration and made hotels at the AMT training center, where they teach construction on 3D printers.
Oleg Dubnov, Vice President, Executive Director of the Skolkovo Foundation's Energy Efficient Technologies Cluster: "3D printing of buildings and structural elements is a promising topic that may soon become a trend all over the world. All industries are moving towards increasing productivity by automating processes, but in the construction sector, these changes have not yet clearly affected the main production processes. So Russian companies now have a great opportunity to take one of the leading positions due to the introduction of technologies that reduce the time and cost of building an object, which is especially important in the context of a shortage of labor resources in the construction industry."
Construction 3D printing is one of the most controversial but rapidly developing areas in the field of additive technologies. Now it is mainly used for the production of small architectural forms, landscape design and landscaping products, the production of elements and parts of buildings and structures with subsequent assembly on the construction site, as well as printing buildings directly on the foundation. It turns out to be irreplaceable in the construction of inexpensive social infrastructure facilities.
Alexander Maslov, General Director of AMT: "From a hardware point of view, a construction 3D printer is not much different from conventional molten plastic printers. These are the same CNC machines, only the building printers are larger. However, they allow you to realize any imagination of the architect: the printer does not care what to print-a simple rectangular building or a house with patterned facades, turrets and columns. And automate the process as much as possible, so that the construction time is reduced by one and a half times compared to the traditional one."
