Turkey deploys tanks to Silopi across from Iraq
Turkish Armed Forces have begun deploying tanks and other armored vehicles from the Ankara-based 28th Mechanized Infantry Brigade to Silopi in Şırnak near the border with Iraq, on Tuesday.
“We have to be ready for any possibility,” Turkish Defense Minister Fikri Işık said on Tuesday. The deployment is designed to be ready for these developments, he stated.
Turkey will reinforce its troop deployments in the border town of Silopi amid a possible Shiite offensive to liberate Tal Afar, which has a sizeable ethnic Turkmen population and is considered a sensitive target for Ankara, Erdoğan had said.
“If al-Hashd al-Shaabi [Shiite militia] causes terror there in [Tal Afar], our response to it will be different,” Erdoğan said on Saturday.

I don't think so. The missile penetrated and it didn't even squashed on the turret side. Nice editing from the page though. Loader of that tank had a very rough awakeing and if the darn missile went through and through the tank commander isn't on its best shape.
Fact is the tank stood still way too long.

I think it's the act of a small man trying to be big. Pretty sure it's all smoke and noise, trying desperately to have influence on a situation, which until now they have been able to exert little influence on. They don't like that they have little control over what is going on so close to their border, but they will do nothing without US green light.

Unless we get to see the aftermath I don't see why the Konkurs which had a clear hit on the turret side, didn't penetrate. If there is penetration, the loader is done for at least on this operation. It's not against Iraq or Iraqis, but the Konkurs is simply not a forgiving system under those circumstances. The editing is somewhat puzzling, unless this is ISIS footage, then its basically evidence to not so satisfactory aftermath for them.
Just remember, the Konkurs has been doing nasty damage to frontal armour protected with ERA, let alone M1A1 side armour, which it has penetrated and then some.

meanwhile.
the iraqi specfor and army are in the eastern suburbs of mosul city now. and cleared 3 neighbourhoods already and captured the mosul TV station.
the PMU force on the other hand has been blazing to the west towards the syrian border and tel afar to cut off daesh's escape routes
all the while the turks are pilling their tanks on the border... seeing their baby being dismembered.

Again, I understand that this isn't pyrotechnical enough for those shitbirds. But the attack has all the hallmarks of a successful penetration. Cue RPG 29 attack on M1A2 in Iraq, by the Iraqi Hizb.
It doesn't look like a fireball each time this happens. But its does damage. Off course Murphy's law applies every time, on both sides. Dud/faulty warhead. Luck. Act of God...you name it.

Saudi revenge against Egypt. Iraq steps in to replace Saudi oil.
however what does this do for Egypts huge saudi financed rearmament programme and infrastructure investments? Saudis know that no one can replace them to prop up egypt and Sisi would face a massive rebellion if the situation deteriorates even further.

They didn't hit the best part to destroy it. A trained soldier would know what part is the less armourd and would have destoryed it. If they have targeted the engine it would have make at least a mobility kill. Here the guy targeted the top of the turret, it didn't dammage enough, but he had a clear view of the tank so he is untrained.
There was a picture of a Turkish M-60 hit by a kornet but the hit wasn't oriented to penetrate the armour and go in the tank but penetrate armour and go outside so no big dammage.

As someone who actually had to listen to instructions on how Fagot and Malyutka are guided and used i must say that its almost impossible to know where the ATGM will hit when you launch it, even if you see the target perfectly and KNOW for sure where its best to hit it.
ATGMs do not really follow straight path, its not tank gun or rifle (these are not really 100% straight line either as they tend to form balistic trajectory later on but you get the point). ATGM will never hit the exact spot which you are lasering or aiming with semi-autotomatic radio guidance or worst situation when your Eye MK1 is guiding Malyutka. Lets say that it will hit in square which is 1x1m.

First of all, a disclaimer. I'm very happy that from the outlook of it the tank survived or at least wasn't lost to a cook off. This is first and foremost an Iraqi tank, no matter the model, Iraqi tankers, soldiers are inside, they deserve victory, not death when facing ISIS.
Second, my only contention here is that the Konkurs hits and hits flat. Side turret right on the loader's face. That part was hit by Konkurs vs M1A2S but the missile was angled well enough to hit both fighting compartment and ammunition bustle. Here it's the same kind of armour that was hit, not more not less, just the angle not going the same way. So my point is that there likely was penetration, even though it looks like it wasn't because of the empirical evidence we have, both visually and technically. Which should not discount the Murphy's law obviously.
As for the Sabra hit by Kornet, the LoS was so limited that it wasn't possible to hit anywhere else. However the Tank Commander of that M60T and loader were wounded. Ironically during early days of Euphrates Shield Konkurs went straight though M60T. So basically it is a testament to why you never expose yourself more than what you need, which is relative anyway.

the caliph announces war on turkey.
i am guessing this is a deliberate "sop" to give erdogan the "excuse" to try and invade mosul or tel afar.
meanwhile the PMU are 15km from tel afar and no more villages in the way... and they cut off the main mosul-raqqa road.
the counter terrorist force is now in the second second suburb inside mosul.

What is most interesting is that the PMU hasn't only cut the direct axis but is moving towards Al Balaj exfil area. If the Kurds control Sinjar properly (and given what was revealed yesterday is shocking i only have half confidence in that) then ISIS i Iraq is going down because of Mosul.
Best luck to you guys.

but they bit off far more than they can chew... and now are chocking on it.

iraqi federal police have taken hammam al alil the last town south of mosul. now the federal police are on their way northwards to enter mosul from the southern suburbs on the western side of the city.
