Pretty much a Grozny redux from what I just saw.
Head to Zerocensorship, check for ISIS videos. 40 minute video, skip to 35:00. Pretty much the exact corralling and kills than in Gronzy. If anything, this only shows what Sheytan said, while there are foreigners, most of the scum "defending" Mosul seems local. I hope Iraq purges them afterwards.

the only areas that ISIS took in 2014 were areas where the population supported them... or were under peshmarga control (sinjar). They singularly failed to take a single Shia or Pro-Iraqi Sunni village or hamlet let alone city. Similarly in the same vein, not a single "shia majority" unit ever fell or abandoned gear... the only units that did were either loyal to Kurdistan (and following "alternative command" orders) or the sunni arabs recruited by the US into the Iraqi military against the advice of the Iraqis themselves who said they were disloyal but the US said "no, we vetted them, they are loyal, it is you who are sectarian".
Sadly this very basic fact at the core of the entire conflict in Iraq since 2014 is singularly denied or ignored by almost everyone outside Iraq. I just don't know why...
Recently as the iraqi army units were taking over new neighbourhoods in mosul... there was a video with a woman who came out of her house and heaped praise on the iraqi army as they passed by.
Later in the same day the army begun conducting searches in all houses and found a large cache of weapons in her house.
That's the population of the daesh cities of iraq.
And in all honesty, if the US once again comes in and says "here's a list of people that you have to take into your army and police to make it less sectarian and more inclusive".... well that will be the first chapter in the next series of daesh.

After a slow start, the operation inside Mosul progressed much more quickly after the hiatus was ended and second phase started on December 29. All of eastern Mosul now liberated.
The change in strategy for the second phase made a big difference. They did what should have been from the beginning, created several fronts, with the army pushing in from the north, the federal police and emergency response division pushing in from the south, and the ICTF and army pushing in from the east.

The US supplying ISIS? This can't be true.
A US Boeing CH-47 Chinook helicopter landed near the village of Mak’houl in al-Jazeereh region controlled by ISIS terrorists on January 28, according to various pro-Iraqi and pro-Syrian sources.
Initially, the information appeared in English in the Iranian Fars News Agency which quoted a member of the Iraqi Parliament, Sattar al-Qanem. Then it was spread across various pro-government media outlets and blogs.
Fars News reports:
Sattar al-Qanem quoted sources in the Iraqi army intelligence and the country’s popular forces of Hashd al-Sha’abi as saying that an American Chinook helicopter on Saturday landed in al-Jazeereh region near Salahuddin that is controlled by the ISIL terrorists. In the meantime, another American aircraft landed in an ISIL—held region near the village of Mak’houl North of Salahuddin.
Member of Security Commission of the Iraqi Parliament Hassan Salem said that the US army aircraft was carrying food stuff and arms for the ISIL terrorists in al-Jazeereh region near the village of al-Salam and was on a mission to take some of the ISIL commanders and members away from the region. “We will not keep mum over the landing of US military aircraft in ISIL-held regions,” Salem underlined.
The agency added, citing Al-Waqt news website, that last October two military helicopters of the US-led coalition delivered number of weapons and military equipment to ISIS members in the Iraqi province of Diyala.

iraqi air force f16s officially began bombing syria (al bu kamal) last week. the iraqi prime minister announced in an official press conference.
2 days later the saudi foreign minister al jubair visited baghdad and was rather humble and reconciliatory in his tone. I note that this is the first time in 27 years that a senior saudi politician visits iraq.

"US TRAINS IRAQI SPECIAL FORCES THAT COULD BE USED TO ELIMINATE COMMANDERS OF POPULAR MOBILIZATION UNITS." – UNCONFIRMED
Iran should try to educate the Iraqi's about the intentions of the US and NATO and sway them away from this.
"Popular Mobilization Units must start Spec Op targeting US Delta Force and SAS and start hunting them like wild animals for what they really are. You've got US spec forces head hunting Iraqi people thousands miles away from their home country who have done no harm to them and for which demise they and their government are responsible".

Small drone 'shot with Patriot missile'
A Patriot missile - usually priced at about $3m (£2.5m) - was used to shoot down a small quadcopter drone, according to a US general.
The strike was made by a US ally, Gen David Perkins told a military symposium.
"That quadcopter that cost 200 bucks from Amazon.com did not stand a chance against a Patriot," he said.
Patriots are radar-targeted weapons more commonly used to shoot down enemy aircraft and ballistic missiles.
"Now, that worked, they got it, OK, and we love Patriot missiles," the general said.

It could of easily been shot down with a Bushmaster 25mm autocannon, but of course how will the US Private MIC turn in a profit to show for their quarterly reviews at their share holder meetings...

once again. I don't quite see the relevance of this to Iraq since Iraq has neither patriots nor bushmasters, nor were any $200 drones shot down in iraq by such things. (they are brought down by sniper rifles usually).

calm posted a lot of pics of these drones being used in Iraq so it does have some relevance there, besides the article doesn't say which country used the Patriot.

Re: IRAQ - Fight on Islamic State: News #2
You should take a leaf out of the book of the Serbs and send up Hind helos with a PKM MG out the rear door to shoot down drones... low cost and unlike the serbs there is no air threat to your helos so they could operate with little chance of being shot down by a fighter aircraft...
Of course mounting a PKM MG on your own fixed wing light drone with a couple of stingers would also be a very potent system that is cheaper to operate.
Of course the main problem with using Stingers is that they are not so cheap but a burst of 7.62mm rounds would do the job. Of course if you can fly close enough a 12 gauge barrel barrel with a belt feed mechanism could greatly increase the chances of a hit with a few rounds against a small fast moving target like a drone... and still be very cheap.
The short range of the 12 gauge rounds means you will need to get very close to the target but that just means identification should be no problem too.
Even a special air burst 30mm grenade round could be used... with a laser range finder mounted on the UAV you could develop some 30mm rounds that detonate say at 250m range and then line up the target and lase it and use a ballistics computer to fire the weapon at the right time with air bursts all around the target ensuring a kill with 2-3 round only. This would be much better than a shotgun round needing your drone to get within 20m or so of the target to be effective.
With a set time fuse the 30mm grenades would not be that expensive to develop. There are already what are called cargo rounds in 30 x 165mm cannon calibre for use by fighters against ground targets that explode at about 1km range to shower tungsten pellets at the target.
