The network form of officer training, recently introduced into the educational curriculum of military educational institutions, was tested by cadets of the Military University of the Russian Ministry of Defense at a training exercise held at the training ground of the Novosibirsk Higher Military Command School.

The essence of such a system is in the use of the educational and material base of several universities, which makes it possible to professionally prepare officer cadres, taking into account the specifics of military special training for the branches of the armed forces and combat arms.

The cadets worked out the combat coordination of units in various types of combat, the passage of equipment through a conventional minefield, as well as the destruction of mines by an overhead method. When completing tasks, future officers trained to act covertly, in full gear and with standard weapons, using elements of disguise.

There are in total 96 such Russian civilian universities like this one offering a military program. Last figures that I saw indicated enrollment around 10,000 regular officer cadets and 50,000 reserve officer and sergeant cadets.

From an article today on the Defense website apparently there are 104 civilian universities now involved in 96 military training centers (obviously some sharing of the program)

Basically it's for daughters of officers and servicemen who died in action, as well as girls from military families who just want to study there and maybe pursue a career in the military later on.

Shoigu: the training program in the RF Armed Forces will be adjusted taking into account combat experience.
Universities have made adjustments to their curricula, created a modern educational and material base, teachers of special disciplines have been trained in the army.

In the new year, when studying at educational institutions of the Russian Defense Ministry, emphasis will be placed on the basis of the experience gained in the performance of special tasks, said the head of the Russian military department, Sergei Shoigu.

“It is necessary to take into account the peculiarities of new methods of warfare, the use by the enemy of promising means of destruction, reconnaissance, communications, electronic warfare and control,” Shoigu said.

The Minister of Defense noted that for this purpose, the training program for specialists has been adjusted in military universities, a modern educational and material base has been created, and teachers of special disciplines have been trained in the troops.

Shoigu today launched a new academic year in departmental educational institutions, where over 2.5 thousand students, more than 61 thousand cadets, including 900 girls, almost 7,000 foreign military personnel, about 16 thousand pupils of pre-university educational institutions are starting classes this year , as well as more than 63 thousand students of military training centers at civilian universities.

Meanwhile, Valery Gerasimov, Chief of the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces, noted that the experience of military operations in Ukraine, Karabakh and Syria was taken into account in the programs of Russian military universities.
