Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that military training centers for training students will be opened in all regions of the country in accordance with the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"The first stage of work has been completed - military training centers will be opened in all regions of the Russian Federation," Shoigu said.

The Minister explained that nine universities are applying for the opening of military training centers, including in the Luhansk People's Republic. The number of regions covered by military training will increase to 82, and the number of military training centers will increase to 137.

Sergei Shoigu stressed that Russian students provide significant support to the special operation.

"The Civilian Higher School provides significant support in achieving the goals of a special military operation," the Defense Minister said.

He cited data that about 20 thousand students from 400 universities of the country participate in volunteer and humanitarian programs: they donated 700 liters of donated blood, which made it possible to provide emergency medical care to 1,400 fighters.

"At the Admiral Ushakov State Maritime University, Penza State University, Bryansk State University of Engineering and Technology and the Timiryazev Russian State Agrarian University, more than 600 blood pumps were handed over," Shoigu said.

Thanks to the help of universities, more than 10 thousand sets of modern dressings and more than 50 thousand square meters of camouflage nets were received on the front line, which will allow several battalions to be covered at once.

"In this work, I would like to mention Omsk State Technical University, where the guys work almost seven days a week," Shoigu said.

Students have collected more than 1,000 quadrocopters and FPV drones, which are used with high efficiency in groups of troops.

One of the important directions is preferential admission of children of participants of a special military operation to state-funded universities - more than 9,000 applicants have already taken advantage of this privilege.

"113 people have been accepted to Lomonosov Moscow State University alone, 123 people to the Far Eastern Federal University, 128 children to the Don State Technical University," Shoigu said.

The Minister of Defense noted the high patriotism and civic responsibility of Russian students - 3,933 of them took academic leave to participate in the SVO.

"The guys are fighting very well, I think everyone saw it in the process of reporting last week," Shoigu said.

Among the students there are awarded military orders and medals.

"Alexey Viktorovich Lyalin was awarded the Order of Courage and appointed to the post of commander of a reconnaissance platoon with the assignment of the military rank of officer, Corporal Meshchersky Alexander Sergeevich was awarded the medal "For Courage", Corporal Zavoloka Alexander Sergeevich - the St. George Cross of the IV degree. And such examples are far from isolated," Shoigu stressed.

Shoigu thanked all those students and employees of the higher school who actively support the Russian Armed Forces during the period of their independence.
