They would have guessed with 500 barrels of sunscreen they took on board when they left Russia...

The Diamond complex involves an unmanned surface boat that can deploy unmanned underwater drones. In addition, the Admiral Kasatonov will soon be equipped with Orlan-10 UAVs, which are currently in service on Project 11356 frigates. 2/

Wouldn´t it be easier to fit the Orlan-10 with a floatation bag? It could land on the water with a parachute, swim thanks to the bag and then be salvaged by the ship.

Or add a "helicopter mode" like a rotor on the top that is deployed when it need to land.
But I think the big baloon is for test only. That woukd impact helicopter work greatly, especially if they detect a submarine close and need it quickly.

There is a bunch of heli drones in development. Orlan-10 will just be a stopgap measure.

They should add a smaller hangar for many of them. They will be great at scaning the sea and looking for subs.

Well they could be creative about it... perhaps a helicopter drone that picks up an Orlan-10 and raises it up to 500-1000m or so and then drops it vertically down where it starts its engine and pulls up when it is moving fast enough to sustain level flight... for landing a simple net device to catch it as it flys past... shut down the engine and just glide in to the net to be brought back on board...

Excellent news if true
That would be 8 ships and halfway through originally planned 15 ships

4 for the northern fleet and 4 for the pacific?
And what about the 22350M?
It would be good if they could build in parallel both 22350 and 22350M, maybe moving the production of the 5k tons frigates to yantar after the 8th (since by that time they will be finished with the last 11356 for India) and keep the production of 7.5k tons destroyers in Severnaya Verf.

What about Black Sea fleet? I guess they will need additional fregates, 2 at least.

Russia's best best will be the serial production of this ship and its M version.
Russian navy also needs a significant improvement in anti submarine warfare.
After that the navy should consider larger ships production.

well the blacklist sea fleet should have received 3 additional 11356, so 2 or 3 22350 would be well appreciated. The only thing to see now is the pace of construction and if they will be build only in one shipyard.littlerabbit wrote:Rodion_Romanovic wrote:So of these 8,PapaDragon wrote:Apparently another 2* 24-UKSK cell 22350s to be laid down next year.
