But they could only import skilled workers because they were rich and could print their own money with no consequences.... not being able to print more money means they are going to have to pay better wages so you profit from working rather than profit from having money and investing in companies that make things and living off the dividends they pay you.

Re: Decline of the western society #2
Interesting his solution is to continue to import the brightest and the best from other countries rather than transform their own education and skills training to meet their own needs for skilled workers...
But they could only import skilled workers because they were rich and could print their own money with no consequences.... not being able to print more money means they are going to have to pay better wages so you profit from working rather than profit from having money and investing in companies that make things and living off the dividends they pay you.

Re: Decline of the western society #2
So 1984 is coming soon to the precious west.
Note how all the bleating about human rights in the west is nothing but a microscopic fig leaf. Microsoft can browse your word documents at leisure and decide whether to
ban you from using "their" software. What happened to all the yap about privacy?
We will probably not be able to type "bad ideas" into the browser interface to this and other forums in the near future. Thought crime must be prevented...

Oh dear, its basically shortages and inflation hitting at the same time.
As in, shortages inflating the price of food, due to how supply and demand works, and inflation from overprinting, because of mostly welfare.
Lot of shenanigans happening in the market right now to keep commodities in check, and in the long run it will make things infinity worst once its comes time to "Pay The Piper", and that time is coming hard and fast.
Not just for Canada, but the entire West.
As of now, everyone is waiting with bated breath on the BRICS or SCO exchanges that will soon come about, in order to strip the West of its ability to manipulate prices on BRICS/SCO memebers commodities.
And when that happens, kiss the dollar and Euro goodbye once and for all.

Re: Decline of the western society #2
The price of meat jumped up by about 70% during the covid plandemic and has not dropped back to where it was before (still around 40% higher).
The gasoline/diesel prices also went from around 1 dollar to around 1.6 dollars. This hits prices for everything since everything in the shops is
transported.
Kanada is experiencing engineered shortages like the USA where there are mysterious food plant fires, closure of food plants (with no reduction
in demand) and supply chain shenanigans that are related to input price inflation as well.
I have been observing around a 7% or higher food inflation in Kanada for years. It has jumped since the coof lockdown crisis. It will not
go back to 7% in the foreseeable future.
Kanada does not have a fiscal policy that is conservative and detached from the USA. USA easy money inflation directly works its way into
Kanada and Turdope's regime is aligned with Biden's clown show.
https://thehub.ca/2022-10-19/jules-boudreau-the-federal-government-is-about-to-bail-out-the-bank-of-canada/
They are "tightening" over the last year after screwing up with too much quantitative easing. The inflation proves that the "tightening" is
not working. As with the rest of the debt-driven NATO economies, raising interest levels to those set by Russia's Central Bank is simply
unthinkable. So they cannot clamp down enough.

I am curious to see how can your intelligence protect you in such enivironments. Try your best to be selected.
As far as I can see what you have been doing is blabbering about your bloated ego in an Internet forum where nobody know who you are, which is hardly any evidences for your "intelligence" or "strength".
The communist certainly think so, the hell do you think communists do when they come to power.
And all i am saying is that all that can be justified so long as you have good PR management, America is a great example of this.
There are many ways, starting with killing the communists, but why should i waste my time, when i can let them kill themselves.
The socialist going on about bloated ego is funny,
Evidence?..not being a socialist is more than evidence enough.
AlfaT8 wrote:Competition is a part of life, rejecting competition is rejecting reality, from the competition for women to the competition for power.
So exploitation, bloodsucking, invading, robbing, killing, murdering are simply acceptable competitions and struggle against such crimes are rejecting reality ?
Gangsters and street thugs look more like human than you.
You wanna go against natural selection, then go ahead socialist, do stupid sh%t, win stupid prizes.
Competition is the reality of life no matter how you wanna define it.
Why thank you, that means i am more likely to win against them.
AlfaT8 wrote:Yea sure, its always the socialists who complain about hardship and the labourers, you all keep playing the victim game.
So what ?
There are no labourers, no hardships, no victims ?
Of course you people spending whole time in luxury by bullying, bloodsucking and expropriate labour from others, how can you know what is hardship and victim ?
That's always the narrative isn't it, the evil rich who ""stole from us"", the things that were either never yours to begin with or you did nothing with it.
And as soon as someone succeeds, you people become envious and put the stupid idea in your little heads that that is actually yours and you go and "steal" it back, believing that you will live in luxury instead.
Then what happens, you become poorer and even worst off.
Tell me, what happened to that African country that kicked out its evil white farmers, ohh yea, that country starved.
What happened in Venezuela after the socialist burned all their money in socialist programs, Venezuela starved.
What happened in Mao's China, ohh yea, they starved to the point of eating their newborns at one point.
So tell me again about hardship, tell me again about the victimized workers.
Their is "hardship" and then there is absolute pain and suffering, which one will your "poor labourers" chose i wonder.
Now tell me about the colonial era, because you are just that predictable.
AlfaT8 wrote:Quite the opposite actually, after all, the winner gets to dictate many things.
Winning is what matters, not morality.
Sure, remembers your words in the times you lost and others dictate your fate.
But as far as I know "mights make rights" are double-standard b*****s who frequently blabbers about mights make rights when they bully others, but when others, especially the Communists, rise up to destroy their privileges then these people suddenly switch the morality mode on and complain why commie are so cruel, so immoral, so degenerated.
Such is life.
I am coming from a different angle on this one, it's not so much "might makes right" is is simply the conclusion i have come to on what informs and dictates morality itself.
Its all about benefits at the end of the day, take the Colonial era or America's Manifest Destiny, at the end of the day, the ones who define what is "right" are in large part, the victors.
Well what do you expect, you rise to power on the backs of the "victimized" workers and the moral grandstanding you are doing now, and when "YOU" come to power you not only victimize the rich, but also the workers as well.
It's not immoral, their simply is no moral to begin with.
AlfaT8 wrote:I am all for Venezuelan independence,

I can hardly see how the people who are white-washing bullying and scamming can have any reason to support Venezuelan and Bolivian independence which is the very anti-thesis of it.
Yes
Like i said, i am more the individualist type, freedom for your country is fine.
I don't support the empire.
AlfaT8 wrote:i just wish they didn't destroy their economy with socialist ideals first.
But socialist and leftist ideas is how they get of of the shithole and get independence, and what is destroying their economy is the criminal USA sanction and sabotage activities, which are anything but socialism.
How about you yourself send an email asking Biden or Trump or Obama about whether they are trying to build socialism when applying embargo against Cuba and Venezuela ?
That's the weird part in this one, why???.... why the hell do you need to go full socialist to break from the west??
No, you don't get to blame sanctions this time, i do that too, but that is simply not the case for Venezuela, it was socialism.
Cuba got embargoed thanks to the missile crises situation, there geographic location made things complicated, and socialism most definitely did NOT help them, ask the Cubans in Florida they will tell you exactly where to shove your socialism.

Maui wildfire devastation exposes the legacy of colonialism
The worst natural disaster in Hawaiian history is still blazing, where Indigenous residents are being pushed out of their homes
Housing crisis
The Maui Emergency Management Agency estimates that it will cost USD 5.52 billion to rebuild from the damage. At least 2,200 buildings have been destroyed or damaged in the fire, with 86% of those being residential. 4,500 of the population of the island are now in need of shelter.
As thousands seek shelter, the fires in Maui have exposed the growing housing crisis in Hawai’i. Indigenous Hawaiians are struggling to maintain shelter with a booming tourism industry driving up prices. The cost of living in Hawaiʻi is almost twice the US average (key to note that Hawaiian independence activists protest the island chain’s default inclusion as a part of the US). The median price of a single family home in Maui is USD 1.2 million, and the median condo price is USD 850,000. The minimum wage in Hawaiʻi is only USD 12 per hour, although a state analysis revealed that a single person working 40 hours per week would need to make at least USD 18 per hour in order to afford basic necessities. The racial groups with the highest poverty rates are Native Hawaiians and other Pacific Islanders.
Many residents worry that any homes rebuilt following the fires will conform to the skyrocketing housing costs. And with the differing poverty rates by race, those housing costs have in fact discriminated against Indigenous Hawaiians. This is revealed by the crisis of gentrification on the island, which the fire may only exacerbate. Sterling Higa, executive director of Housing Hawaiʻi’s Future, told the Associated Press that, “a lot of more recent arrivals—typically from the [US] who have more money and can buy homes at a higher price—were to some extent displacing local families in Lahaina.”
Over half of all homeless people on the Hawaiian island of Oahu, the most populated of the Hawaiian island chain, identified as Native Americans or Pacific Islanders. Local activists have also alerted about real estate agents taking advantage of the devastating fires to make a quick buck off of vacated Hawaiian land.
Climate change
As the New York Times reports, the area burned by wildfires in Hawai’i has quadrupled in recent decades.
Climate change has played a significant role in the increase in fires, as dry and hot conditions have worsened across the islands. 16% of Maui, specifically the western side where the fires have been blazing, had been experiencing severe drought conditions a week ago. In June, the Maui government leveled water restrictions on residents due to the drought, which started in May. Residents were fined USD 500 for using water for “non-essential” needs, such as washing cars. However, the tourism industry experienced no such penalty despite accounting for nearly half of Hawaiʻi’s water consumption.
The legacy of colonialism
Hawaiian independence activists point out that the contradictions between the Indigenous Hawaiians contending with drought and being pushed out of their homes are really part and parcel of the legacy of colonialism on the island chain.
In an interview with Democracy Now!, Kaleikoa Kaeo, activist and professor of Hawaiian studies at the University of Hawai’i Maui College spoke about how the transformation of of Lahaina from the seat of the independent Hawaiian kingdom to what it is now is part of how “the economy, the population and the landscape itself was transformed, really, to meet the needs of mass tourism.”
Now Maui is a tourist’s paradise, even after the wildfires. A Hawaiʻian woman expressed her horror to the BBC after seeing tourists swimming in “the same waters that our people just died in three days ago.”
“There is two Hawaiʻis right now,” she continued. “There’s the Hawaiʻi we’re living in and the Hawaiʻi they’re living in—they’re visiting in.”
Lahaina used to be a wetland. It was the process of colonization that turned the land arid and wildfire-prone. “The major area in Lahaina, one of the names, in fact, was Waine’e. The word wai means ‘water.’ The word ne’e means ‘to move,’” says Professor Kaeo. “Unfortunately, today, most of that water no longer exists due to streams which have been diverted, you know, the transformation of the environment from traditional native plants and so-called forests, which have [been] replaced first by sugar and then, now, unfortunately, being replaced by these what we call gentlemen estates… there’s a transformation, where Lahaina at one time was a very important agricultural center, commercial trade center through the whaling period, and then became a large sugar plantation area.”
The invasive, nonnative grass species that provided a tinderbox for the wildfires was introduced by 19th century settlers building up large-scale agriculture.
“Unfortunately and horrifically, our people, who have lived there since time immemorial, are suffering because of the consequences that have been imposed, really, from outside forces,” says Kaeo.

AlfaT8 wrote:What happened in Venezuela after the socialist burned all their money in socialist programs, Venezuela starved.
What happened in Venezuela is that before the revolution, the capitalist championed landlords keep their land completely idle and do nothing beneficial, that agriculture under precious capitalist rule was degenerated into a pathetic state due to reliance on oil revenue, and when the socialist come into power they use socialist money to rennovate agriculture which significantly increase agriculture output, especially in husbandry, and redistribute the land to the farmers who have real intention to do something with it.
What happened in Venezuela is that the landlord, became envious with peasants succeed in cultivating the land that the landlords kept idle, began to mobilize thugs, gangsters and hitmen to murder and terrorize the peasants to steal the land that the landlords never deserve to have done nothing with it.
AlfaT8 wrote:What happened in Mao's China, ohh yea, they starved to the point of eating their newborns at one point.
What happened in Mao's China was that they had a stable economic recovery from 1949 to 1959, and after damages due to the horrendous errors in GLF, continued to implemented major campaigns to develop industry and infrastructure nationalwide, and regardless of the GLF, cultural revolution and political affairs, enjoyed a signifant economic growth and laid the foundation for later development after the 1979 reforms.
What happened in China today is, regardless of the market-oriented reforms, that they retain a large state-controlled economy with restricts the pervasive effects of market economy, and the biggest economic problem came from private sector with capitalistic roots and had nothing to do with communistic idea.

But again it is all about welfare, not about your self-proclaimed "talents"'s vocarious demand of profit. You neo-fascist are just that predictable.

So that is where you get information from and who you are associated with. Dogs usually packed together, don't they ?
It is interesting to see that the USA lapdogs have the honor to provide consent to the self-proclaimed only "not degenrated" human remaining in the West.
How about asking these traitors the method to do pull-ups on helicopter skids, it may help to increase your competitiveness.

British told not to heat their homes in evenings
A UK climate policy NGO made the controversial suggestion in its latest “carbon budget” report
British NGO the Climate Change Committee has urged people to turn their heaters off at night and during other peak times in its latest “carbon budget” report, the UK Telegraph revealed on Saturday.
Rather than keeping radiators on at night during the coldest part of the year, Britons should “pre-heat” their homes in the afternoon to save money. The advice is geared toward households with electrically-powered systems like the heat pumps popular elsewhere in Europe, though most British homes use gas boilers.
CCC director Chris Stark (...) admitting that they [heat pump] are too expensive for many people and “very difficult” to install in apartments already fitted with gas boilers.
Andrew Montford of climate policy watchdog Net Zero Watch told the Telegraph, suggesting the UK’s electrical infrastructure couldn’t handle the demand of millions of electric heat pumps working in unison.
“This latest advice to freeze ourselves on cold evenings merely shows the truth that the dream of plentiful and cheap renewable energy is a sham,” Conservative MP Craig Mackinlay agreed.

@andalusia
Canada is somewhat like the USA in terms of varsity sports. But the US is on another level in terms of money involved. In the US college football
is a very big thing, but in Canada we do not have this sort of fervor for any sport. At all levels the US sports market is so much bigger than in Canada
and the cultural footprint is much larger.
Varsity sports is a way for colleges to make money so it skews their priorities. I would not consider sports to be a core academic activity. It is nice to have sports
programs in high schools, colleges and universities, but the big money distorts this. For example, varsity athletes get scholarships with a focus on their sports activity
and not their academic activity. That is contradictory to the function of an academic institution. Since only some small percentage succeed in big money sports, there
must be a large number of "also ran"s who come out of the system with a sub-par education. But this also applies to all the humanities studies that are a huge component of
academic institutions that are not driven by big money.
The USSR had a focus on athletics and Russia seems not have a lost this. The Russian system is not money driven to the extent of the US system. There is
private sports money in Russia but it is not the driver. As far as I can tell, Russian athletics is not focused on a few sports like the US (American football, baseball,
swimming). But then hockey is a prominent sport in Russia. I do not have enough knowledge to give you a full picture.

Former Cardinal avoids sex-abuse trial due to dementia
Theodore McCarrick was accused of molesting a 16-year-old boy, one of allegedly dozens of victims
A Massachusetts judge on Wednesday dismissed charges against former Roman Catholic cardinal Theodore McCarrick, ruling that the 93-year-old was not mentally competent to stand trial for the alleged sexual abuse of a teenage boy. McCarrick is the highest-ranked clergyman ever to be defrocked by the Vatican over claims of pedophilia.
The judge’s ruling came after a psychologist told Dedham District Court that McCarrick was suffering from acute memory loss and was exhibiting the signs of “severe cognitive decline.”
“It’s not just that he currently has these deficits,” the psychologist, Dr. Kerry Nelligan, said. “There is no way they are going to get better.”
McCarrick was accused of groping the genitals of a 16-year-old boy at a wedding in 1974. The case was brought after Massachusetts lifted the statute of limitations on sex-abuse cases in 2021. McCarrick is also facing similar charges in Wisconsin, where he is accused of repeatedly groping a young male victim during the late 1970s.
He pleaded not guilty in the Massachusetts case, brought two years ago, and has yet to enter a plea in Wisconsin.
Once the powerful Archbishop of Washington, McCarrick was ordered to resign as Cardinal by Pope Francis in 2018 and was laicized in 2019, after a Vatican investigation determined that he’d molested dozens of minors and adults during his ascent through the Catholic Church’s hierarchy. A report by the Holy See later found that Pope John Paul II promoted McCarrick despite knowing about the allegations against him, while Pope Benedict XVI ignored the warnings.
However, the Vatican’s former ambassador to the US claimed in 2018 that Pope Francis knew about the allegations and made McCarrick his “most trusted counsellor,” while removing severe sanctions Benedict had placed on the cardinal.
The Catholic Church acknowledged in 2018 that it had reached settlements with a number of McCarrick’s alleged victims during the early 2000s, while he was Archbishop of Washington.
At least four civil lawsuits against the former Archbishop are still pending. One of these accuses McCarrick and three priests of having run a pedophile ring from a beach house in New Jersey in the early 1980s, while McCarrick was Bishop of Metuchen.

Re: Decline of the western society #2
The church has clearly already found that he was guilty so because they protected him... well they not only protected him... they promoted him... they need to start paying out some serious cash to those victims. It wont fix their problems but it will make their lives a bit easier moving forward... and don't pretend the church has not got bags of money...
Ironically they hid this sort of thing to protect the name of the catholic church and all they end up doing is proving critics right that they are a cult and a den of pedos and pedo enablers.
Makes all the work in the third world with children look rather suspect too... how long before they start coming forward with the truth.
And they claim moral superiority over the rest of us...

Re: Decline of the western society #2
Alexander Dugin: Global Liberalism in Crisis, by Simes Dimitri (Deputy Director of Sputnik's English-language Department).
Liberalism is headed for “catastrophe” following decades of global ideological hegemony, political philosopher Alexander Dugin told Sputnik’s New Rules podcast.
The collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 allowed liberalism to emerge as the undisputed, dominant global ideology. Over the past several years, however, the ideology’s future has come increasingly under question. Populist upheavals in the United States and Europe exposed growing discontent with the inability of liberal institutions to cope with foreign policy and economic failures. At the same time, new emerging powers such as Russia, China, and India among others have begun to put forth their own ideological alternatives.
Dugin said that liberalism had no solutions for the problems it helped create – a fact that is implicitly admitted by the ideology’s own supporters. Liberalism’s only path forward, he warned, was to double down on its mistakes.
“If we consider the futuristic vision in the cinema and the art made by the Liberal West, we don’t see a single positive scenario. Everything is a 'Mad Max', everything is Armageddon – atomic catastrophe, atmospheric catastrophe, or ecological catastrophe,” he said. “So, there is no other possible vision of the future in the modern Western liberal civilization outside of global decay. That offers a revelation of liberalism’s inner void because liberalism started as an individualistic version of humanism, but now it is approaching anti-human, transhuman individualism.”
“That is precisely the political agenda of [Joe] Biden, of Kamala Harris, of modern day progressives in the United States that are openly post-human,” he added. “They are trying to destroy history, the family, the sexes, and all kinds of traditional institutions. It is just a kind of imperative, political imperative of destruction of humanity. So, that is the catastrophe [of liberalism].”
Rise and Fall of Liberalism
Dugin argued that liberalism was a “disguised path to the abyss” from the very beginning due to its intrinsic desire to tear down all forms of collective identity, such as religion, family, and nationality, in the name of individualism. The Russian philosopher insisted that it was only a matter of time before the ideology began trying to deconstruct the very concept of humanity.
“The last thing [liberals] needed to accomplish on their way is to liberate individuals from their human identity – precisely because it is the last form of collective identity,” he said. As evidence of liberals’ increasingly “anti-human” worldview, Dugin pointed to the growing popularity of transhumanism, a movement that advocates for the use of emerging technologies to remake human beings, and radical environmentalism among Western elites.
According to the Russian philosopher, liberalism began its rapid degradation following the end of the Cold War. He explained that during the 20th century, liberalism’s ideological competition with communism and fascism forced it to win over potential supporters by promising them more freedom and higher standards of living. However, the eventual collapse of its two main rival ideologies granted liberalism with a global monopoly over the intellectual marketplace and removed any incentive for it to offer its proponents a better future.
“We now see that without these political alternatives, modern global liberalism becomes a pure dictatorship – a totalitarian system that imposes on all of humanity the necessity to be liberal,” Dugin said. “If you are not liberal, you are doomed, totally destroyed. So, with liberalism now showing its totalitarian nature, it stops trying to be attractive. It instead imposes itself universally without explaining why.”
Dugin has experienced the totalitarianism of Western liberalism firsthand. Mainstream media outlets have spent years smearing him as “the most dangerous political philosopher in the world.” Dugin has been deplatformed from YouTube, Gmail, and Amazon – just to name a few. The United States and the European Union have imposed sanctions against him for his writings. In August 2022, Dugin’s 29-year old daughter Darya was murdered in a car bombing attack orchestrated by Ukrainian security services.
“I'm considered to be a public enemy of the West and it is not difficult to understand why I am so demonized, criticized, and blamed,” he said. “The liberals could not afford to go for a real dialogue with myself. They prefer to kill me, as they have killed my daughter. When you kill your opponents that means you have no serious arguments against them because violence is the weapon of the stupid and the weak.”
Debunking Liberal Myths
Proponents of liberalism contend that whatever its shortcomings, their ideology has no rivals when it comes to promoting economic and technological progress. No other ideologies can boast of the high standards of living achieved by 21st century liberal societies, they insist.
Dugin offered two responses to this argument. First, he noted that all of liberalism’s economic “successes” were accompanied by regression in other key areas – namely “the destruction of social ambiance in Western societies, the growing devastation of the human minds, and the reduction of the human intellectual culture to simplistic reactions.” He argued that these costs outweighed any economic benefits achieved by liberalism since it is impossible for a society to have a sustained prosperity without a robust social fabric.
Secondly, Dugin pointed out that Western liberalism’s claims of economic superiority were demonstrably false. Since the late 1970s, China has experienced rapid boom all the while maintaining a highly “illiberal” political model. By contrast, many developing nations that have followed the recommendations of Western-led international financial institutions have muddled through several decades of economic stagnation.
“When Western civilization proudly declares that it is the richest society in the world, it simply isn't true because there are other countries with high quality of living,” he added. “If you consider the capital of Russia, big cities of China, or some eastern Islamic capitals, then you will see that their standards of living are not so less than in the West. At the same time, you can find places in the Western Europe or the United States that are in a terrible state. For example, Detroit – the total decay of the entire society, drug addict populations living in the streets.”
Multipolar Revolt Against the Liberal West
Dugin contended that liberalism is gradually losing its global ideological dominance and Russia is helping to spearhead the process. He explained that although Russia launched its special military operation in Ukraine to protect civilians in the Donbass and halt NATO’s eastern expansion, the conflict quickly evolved into a larger struggle against Western geopolitical supremacy. The pursuit of victory, Dugin argued, has forced Russia to make a complete break with the “deep nihilism and toxic nature of Western liberal system” and to rediscover its “real civilizational identity.”
“It is not against the West as such we are fighting. We are fighting against the pretension of the West to be universal, to be the measure of things,” he said. “We are fighting against the refusal of the West to consider that Russian culture, political system, and society can be built on totally different principles. The West doesn't accept any alternative to its principles and so long as it still follows this line of kind of behavior, we have no chance to stop the war.”
“But we are not alone in this fight because the Chinese, sooner or later, will confront the same situation. The African and the Islamic worlds are already half-awaken against this threat of the Western racism. Latin America and India as well,” he added. “We are humanity, we are the global majority fighting not against the West, but against Western racism, hegemony, and pretension to be universal. As long as this Western pretension to be universal exists, our fight will go on.”
