Ukrainian army ‘almost destroyed’ – Wagner chief


The head of the Wagner Group private military company (PMC) Evgeny Prigozhin has described Ukraine’s losses in the battle for the city of Artryomovsk as almost fatal to Kiev’s entire military. The sacrifices made by his force for the sake of Russia were worth it, he added.

“As of today, the battle for Bakhmut has almost destroyed the Ukrainian army,” Prigozhin said in a statement on Wednesday, using the name by which Kiev calls the city. The clash also “gave a serious beating to PMC Wagner,” he acknowledged.

He called the battle the “general engagement” of the entire conflict and said that in it Wagner troops got pitted against Ukrainian armed forces and “foreign units installed into them.” A victory by his troops would be “a turning point” and a historic event, securing a Russian victory, Prigozhin predicted.

“The Russian army alone will be left on the chessboard, and all other pieces will be removed,” he forecast. “Even if PMC Wagner is destroyed in the Bakhmut meat grinder but takes the Ukrainian army with it … it would mean that we have accomplished our historic mission.”

Would be sad if he is not exaggerating, but a true sacrifice which will leave the Russian army alone on the chessboard

The other day, a video from an unidentified training ground with western armoured vehicles delivered to the AFU appeared in the Ukrainian segment of the Net. A British Challenger 2 tank, a German Marder BMP, an American Bradley BMP and an Australian Bushmaster APC were captured.

Specific indications caught by the cameraman's lens allowed our OSINT team to identify the precise location of the site where Ukrainian troops are being trained. It is the 37th Combined Arms Range near the village of #Perlyavka, southwest of #Zhitomir.

I agree with PapaDragon here. I was already asking why they don't load 20 su-34 and 40 su-24 with fab-100 and just carpet bomb all the city. It is way less destructive than sending men vs men with artillery during few months now. With such an attack most ukro concripts would surrender quickly even if they don't kill anyone. The shock would be huge. Same as when they send kalibrs on that foreign legion HQ back in the first month, they all left to play call of duty in USA the next day.

They control the area very well so ukro AD would be a dabger there at low altitude during night.

Regarding confronting any possible counter-offensives by Ukrs , it is not enough to sit and wait , and allow them freedom of movement , and then be wrong-footed by a feint and allow them quick access to rear areas . Once they have gathered in one location , and are close by , then best to send advance force to confront them and encircle them . Put them in a prison of armour . Regarding use of air power , as long as enough planes are saved to confront NATO in nuke war , agree that some could be used to do close air support to intercept advancing enemy columns . The Orcs may have AD in their own areas , but not areas they will be advancing into ( most vehicles destroyed ) . There is danger for Iran too , if Nazi/ Nato forces make advances into the Caucasian region , together with Turkiye , to cut Russia from PG region . For this reason , Iran should send ground forces to push back the Orcs . Well done to North Korea , for both developing a Nuke deterrent and possibly offering large number of troops to Russia .
