Niger announces its decision to break diplomatic relations with Ukraine, 08.06.2024.

The Government of Niger, as reported by 'Al-Arabiya', made the decision to break diplomatic relations with Ukraine on August 6.

The decision comes just a couple of days after Mali, a nation that accused Kiev of supporting terrorist groups operating in the African country, also severed relations with the European nation.

The Malian government spokesman, Colonel Abdoulaye Maiga, accused a senior Ukrainian official of having admitted Kiev's role in the defeat suffered by Malian troops in July.

On August 4, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Senegal summoned the Ukrainian ambassador to the country, Yuri Pivovarov, for his expressed support for the fighters in northern Mali who inflicted heavy losses on government forces.
