New statement by Yemen's Ansarullah military spokesman, Yahya Saree:

'With the help of God Almighty, the naval forces of the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out a military operation against two ships linked to the Zionist entity. The first was the 'Swan Atlantic' ship, loaded with oil, and the other was the 'MSC Clara' ship, carrying containers. They were targeted by two naval planes.

The process of targeting the two ships came after their crews refused to respond to calls from the Yemeni naval forces.

The Yemeni Armed Forces reiterate their reassurance to all ships heading to all ports around the world, except those headed for Israeli ports, that no harm will befall them and that they must keep the communication channel open.

The Yemeni Armed Forces also reiterate that they will not hesitate to target any ship that violates what was stated in its previous statements.

US Def Sec Lloyd Austin announces ‘Operation Prosperity Guardian’ to respond to “reckless Houthi attacks” from Yemen in Red Sea.

"Operation Prosperity Guardian", is a new international task force aim to target Yemen under the pretext of "protecting ships in the Red Sea from Houthi attacks".

I am sure all those cold-war era ships are well equipped for drones and ASBM's.
and i know for an fact some of these nation's ships are undermanned, undertrained and have some dodgy fire suppression systems they did not have money for to maintain.

That first video hitting the jeep at the rear of the column... by about 1 minute 20 it looked like a very juicy target with that big group of soldiers gathered at the rear of the hit vehicle... maybe they need to improve their tactics where the guy firing the missile is teamed with a gun with a machine gun in a totally different place so if any enemy troops bunch up the machine gunner can open up on any groups of enemy soldiers... or perhaps a weapon like an SPG-9 could be used to launch a direct fire HE round at them.

I appreciate that this video was taken at distance and the ATGM launcher was probably already out of small arms fire range when it launched its attack.

A mortar would deliver enough HE but would not be accurate enough unless it was a direct fire mortar like a Vasilek, or an SPG-9 recoilless rifle with HE rounds.

The Russians have developed new longer ranged 82mm mortar bombs with a 6km range... does anyone know if they are compatible with Vasilek model mortars?

A burst of a 4 round clip would be impressive... you could probably fire two clips before moving.... they fire pretty fast.

The US bringing together a flotilla of warships to protect the Red Sea is too late. This chart shows that commercial companies have already made their decisions. It ain't worth the risk.
