    lol!

There are some talks back home about India choosing between 50 F-35s or Rafales for the Indian Navy's forthcoming MRCA tender, so I don't want to see F-35 in a bad way(even though it is a D-U-D, lol) until India completely rejects it out of the tender Twisted Evil

Indian Su-30MKI have one weak point in case of conflict with US and it is French and Israeli build ESM equipment, so you could not know, how much influence could US have in it to turn it off or to jam its work or to not recognize US weapons as treat. Same could go with Pakistani F-16. Russian Su-30SM have domestic ESM equipment, so they will not have to worry about it. I don't know, how good are those new jamming pods for flankers effective in jamming AMRAAM and Meteor ARH homing heads. If they are, than, they are also very secure against western GBAD where systems like NASAMS use same AMRAAMs as fighter planes. Russian SAMs at least use different missiles than fighters.

I think it is just wrong to go for equipment regardless if it is good or not that is given from a falling empire that is completley unreliable, they shut down GPS during Georgian war, they embargooed countries like iran because they are not willing to bow down and take it up to the rear from the US and now the F-14 are useless without spare parts.

In the current situations around the globe, such countries as South Korea, the population does not like Americans and how they make always tensions between North and South, as soon South Korean people overthrow their own puppet regime and install a leader that looks on interest of its countrymen than you know all their NATO military equipment will become obsolete withing a few years after they put sanctions against the new South Korea.

Such a mad partner with inferiority complex is never good for you.

Nothing to worry, as those Israeli and French ECM/EW equipment are going to be replaced with pure Russian equipment come the "Super-Sukhoi" upgrade(which can commence from any time from now). Su-30MKI, after this upgrade would share most(if not all) of its software, avionics, EW suite etc. directly with PAK-FA Very Happy

It really looks great in this colors. Better than dark gray. I hope RuAF will order more of Su-30SM for Far Eastern regions. At least 60 more.

Maybe this has already been mentioned, but what is the SM's radar? Is it Bars? A modified Bars at that?

With sale of MiG-29M's, I am surprised there isn't a massive push for AESA radar for any and all aircrafts. Especially for these jets, where PAK FA will be housing a similar sized radar and it will be AESA, wouldn't it be in Russia's best interest to build more of them for existing aircrafts so they can reduce cost?

The spec sheet I had is down, but from an official source it listed 250-300km range for a fighter sized target, 8 airborne target simultaneous engagement....compare that to the early specs from the 2000s Smile .

Anyone know, which engines have Su-30M2 and Su-30SM? I doubt they have the same as export Su-30. Even Su-27SM use AL-31FM1 with 135 kN trust, what is far more than 123 kN trust on export Su-30MKI or Su-30MKK. I think Su-30M2 have at least the same AL-31FM1 as Su-27SM and Su-30SM even stronger one as it is heavier fighter.

Same as export for SM. http://www.ruaviation.com/news/2011/11/30/652/

Not sure about M2, could very well be FM1.

More concerned about the lack of visible MAWS on the SM.

Well, well, well looks like Domna had a delivery of Su-30SMs sometime this year that we didn't knew about (well i didn't- might have to do with this Ukraine thing). Bort 14 is new. Presumably there are 14 in total now? Anyone knows if IAPO delivered any Yak-130s this year?

Those are Su-27SM3. It appears peoples in the know say they are upgraded ones, not new (i did posted the alleged serial numbers- they are from series 36- of these two some time ago). If that is the case, it appears there is a further upgrade for the newest Su-27Ps that didn't go through the SM one in the works? (i keep thinking of that Belarus regiment that was said to be planned to receive Su-27SM3s- that would make 24 aircraft, with a minimum of 12- of which 2 are already done- to be upgraded IF the Krymsk machines will be transferred to Belarus at some point)

The military units of Zabaykalsky Krai will take delivery of about 10 Su-30SM fighters

A new batch of multi-role Su-30 SM fighters is being delivered to the military units of Eastern Military District (EMD) located in Zabaykalky Krai, Lenta.ru reports with reference to the press-service of EMD.

The source added that about 10 new Su-30SM fighters should be delivered to the EMD in 2014. The jets will be operated by the 412th airbase of the Russian air forces (Domna airfield); these Su-30SMs will replace the outdated MiG-29 fighters manufactured in 1980s. At present the personnel of the airbase located 27 km south-west of Chita are carrying out acceptance of the new jets together with representatives of aircraft industry enterprises; the new jets are performing first flights.

The 412th airbase of Russian air forces stationed at Domna airfield is known for extensive use of aerography: most of its fighters are decorated with different unofficial emblems and symbols. This tradition was established during Soviet era by 120th fighter regiment, which was taking part in the war in Afghanistan during 1979-1989 period; the regiment operated MiG -23 fighters.

Su-30SM is the “4+”-generation fighter created on the basis of famous T-10 platform (the most popular member of T-10 Family is Su-27 jet). Su-30SM fighter was derived from exported Su-30MKI jet. The fighter meets the requirements of Russian air forces in terms of radar, radio communications systems, friend-or-foe identification system, ejection seats and a number of other systems.

Su-30SM is manufactured by Irkut Corporation under two contracts for delivery of 30 Su-30SM jets each. Irkut and Russian Ministry of Defense signed the contracts in March and December 2012. Irkutsk Aviation Plant delivered two Su-30SM jets to Russian air forces in November 2012 and 14 more ones – in 2013.

    IAPO to build 30 Su-30SM and 30 Yak-130 in 2015!

What are the planned figures for this year, 21 Su-30SM and 25 Yak-130? I can't recall hearing about any deliveries of Yak-130s this year though (i know the accident might be a hold-up), any info as to what the situation is, and how this ukrainian issue is affecting engine availability? Thanks.
