No, all Su-30M2 serve together with Su-27SM3 in Krymsk air base and with Su-27SM in Vladivostok and some in Belbek air base in Crimea. They don't have all 30 Su-30M2 yet, I think they will receive 4 or 5 of them in this year to finish the order.

    There are 4 Su-30SM in Dzemgi. Numbers 14, 15, 16 , 17. https://vk.com/su30_family

Which is ironic, since Su-27UB in line units used to be mainly for squadron commanders, so there would be only 3-4 per regiment. Now it's the opposite.

The TO&E in IAPs is completely disorganised seemingly.

There are 4 30SM's in Dzemgi and this week 9 Su-35's and 3 Su-30SM's participated as a squadron in ground attack training. Have never read it anywhere but I believe they are still working out some bugs in the Su-35's.

Most probably it is about armament integration. Su-35 comes to units before they receive their basic armament, which are R-77-1 and R-37M missiles. Most probably bugs are in integration of R-37M missiles and L-band AESA complex, which are totally new and no plane have them before. Successful integration will be also important for PAK FA, which also use them both. Su-30SM doesn't have them, so all armament is already integrated in it and with that fully operational.

Austin posted a link to Takeoff magazine that from memory stated the RVV-SD were in production and service but that the RVV-MD needed extra work.

SD is R-77 and MD is R-74.

My understanding is that they are having problems with the IIR seeker and datalink of the R-74.

AFAIK Russia have to replace IR seeker in R-74 from Ukraine with domestic one, which is developed in company in Azov. They sid, that replacement with new domestic seeker was successful and that production will start next year. R-77-1 and I think R-37M are already in production and I think first batches of at least R-77-1 were delivered, most probably for integration on fighters.

It is based on information from a MiG-31BM pilot that has seen them himself.

Technically the laser fuse model is called R-73EL.

Not saying this isn't RVV-MD but this is not evidence that it is.

Looks like Su-30SM in Syria get RVV-MD missiles. I hope they will also get R-77-1 too.

Any model R-73 is potent enough for the job... it is a very capable missile.

Afaik R-73EL is the export version, the domestic version is called R-73L. The radio fused one is called R-73E for export and R-73K for domestic version.
