Re: Russia Arms Expo 2013
Interestingly, the DShKM machine gunner shielding on that "TUSK" equipped T-72 is quite similar (albeit more refined) to the one on iraqi T-72s.

Reading MP.net for fun, am reminded of the dipshits who post there.
One Brit who won't stop babbling nonsense :ERA as a concept is a one hit wonder born out of an attempt to desperately cover up faults in base armour concepts.
Hahahahaha. What a clueless tard.

Were is the magazine? They should have walled off the interior with plywood or something to demonstrate that area.

Yes, he is an idiot. I really wanted to remind him of the failures Challenger had against the RPG-29 even with its "Vunderwaff" heavy composite cermaic armour. But his constant bullshit, much like the Floridan guy, about Russia. Seems MP.net really hasn't changed much, other than they got more RussiaWEAK! crew. And their justifications are either spewing out old crap they heard back in the day and still think it is true (regardless what you provide as evidence) or someone who is an armchair engineer regarding how poorly built Russian equipment is.TR1 wrote:Reading MP.net for fun, am reminded of the dipshits who post there.

That T-72B3 Urban combat equipment looked real impressive, and they decide to go full retard about ERA armour and how there isn't enough "torque" in it to have heavy armour, and whatever other stupid excuses.

Re: Russia Arms Expo 2013
The Challenger is an example of how NOT to make an MBT - overweight as hell, terrible strategic mobility.....and it won't be getting replaced, since the UK can't even make tanks anymore. In the immortal words of Nelson - HaHa!
Was laughing so hard at his anti-ERA stance...because you know, primitive ass cage armor works repeatedly, no deformations at all when being struck (not to mention it works very dubiously vs anything more modern than stone age RPG-7).
Laugh and move on, those "West strong" retards base their whole identity on a false superiority complex, it is very amusing to watch how indignant they get at any notion of something Western not being ideal.

Re: Russia Arms Expo 2013
Passive arrays are not actually that expensive and only those damaged elements would need to be replaced. How much would it cost to replace a Pantsir radar array that has been shot full of holes?
Having said that using the Pantsir in urban combat against insurgents most of the radar equipment would be removed to allow more cannon ammo to be carried... in the case of the Shilka used in Afghanistan they doubled the ammo load by removing all the electronics and radar equipment.
In many ways the armament of the BMP-3M is actually more suited to the BMPT role than that fitted to the old model BMPT, so in an armata unit the IFV vehicle could simply double its ammo capacity by storing extra ammo in the troop compartment and use its firepower in the BMPT role... it has the high elevation weapons... it really just needed the extra armour to operate with the tanks. How long will it take infantry to dismount under sniper fire and provide cover for an MBT during an ambush?
Nice. No more tower with radar sensors to make camouflage hard...New APS?

That guy is even more hilarious. He doesn`t have a clue what is fiscal and what is monetary policy and dares to debate about economy. Re: Russia Arms Expo 2013
Pantsir is not meant to do ground battles but air defense job behind the front lines. This is why BMPT was created to do that job instead of AA guns. Removing radar from Shilka for ground battles have sense to get more ammo inside, but for Pantsir it have no sense, because crew is not in turret and in turret module is not much more space for additional ammo, because main computers are not in turret. In urban combat BTR-82A is practically the same effective as Pantsir, specially if turret is equipped with GSh-30 twin barreled gun.How much would it cost to replace a Pantsir radar array that has been shot full of holes?

Such devices would be perfect for the regions that are terrorist controlled. As well, these heavy hitters may be perfrct in an open conflict with competent enemies due to its capabilities of knocking out heavy armour. I wonder though, if not already mentioned, what is its weight increased to and what additional armour plating?
What kind of missiles as well? Kornet?

Re: Russia Arms Expo 2013
No official data has been released on the BMPT-72 as of yet, but it's hull seems to use an armor layout similar to that of the new T-72 "TUSK" variant.sepheronx wrote:Such devices would be perfect for the regions that are terrorist controlled. The ERA mounted on this BMPT-72 is the same as the one mounted on T-90MS... Relikt maybe...?
