Re: NATO: Discussion and News
Turkey has numerical advantage.
Greece needs to buy fighters from Russia (mig-35) but also some real frigates like the Grigirovitch being build with real AD and kalibr cruise missiles. Some karakurt or Buyan to increase number of kalibr.
They are meant for India but indians can build their own.
They need also some Iskander.

Turkey's S-400 will shut down Greece's airspace within 24 hours. Greece won't be able to do the same.Isos wrote:Turkey has numerical advantage.

Even if Greece places orders for Mig 35 it will take Russia at least 3-4 years to deliver them. Same goes for Iskander. Greece will be toast by then.
Fortunately, for Greece, NATO states are interfering on their behalf despite the fact that Turkey is also a NATO member.
What kind of dolts are these Greeks? What were they purchasing for all these years? Sounds like those equally moron Indians. Imports weapons 365 days a year and then when China comes knocking at their doors, they realize they have purchased all the weapons except for those that are required to defend against a Chinese attack.

Re: NATO: Discussion and News
Greece air defence is much beter than turkish. Turkish S-400 are defenceless. They will be easy to overwhelm and destroy.
Greece has 2 S-300PMU1 with 4 launchers each. They also have 6 batteries of Patriot missiles with 36 launchers and 325 missiles. They are protected by 16 Tor m1 and 9 crotal NG. They also have 30 Osa systems.
They also have 40 Mirage 2000-5 and 25 upgraded to mk2 standard which is a real beast that can launch Scalp missile (they have 90 of them according to wikipedia) which already destroyed turkish AD in Libya.
Their f16 are as good as turkish ones.
Iskander can be delivered in matter of months. Mig are producing nothing as of now and can start the production as soon as they sign the contract.
They need to buy also 1 or 2 Bastion P complexes with at least 50 missiles.

Re: NATO: Discussion and News
They have around 240 f-16. Greece has 150 f-16 and 40 mirage.
But Turkey has lot of enemies around them and can't risk all their fleet against Greece.
At the end Greece may have mire fighters than them.
But Turkey planned 100 f-35 and will probably buy their own 5th gen if it comes fast or more probably su-35 or another jet soon.

What do you mean? Here's irrefutable evidence of NATO's unbreakable unity.
"Turkey does not behave like a NATO ally": macron says" red lines " for Ankara
The French President responded to Turkish claims about the exercises that the French took together with the Greeks and Cypriots in the Eastern Mediterranean. Recall that Ankara accused Paris of violating the agreements on the military presence in Cyprus. Namely, several French air force aircraft arrived at the air base in Cyprus earlier from France to participate in maneuvers. In response, Turkey has stepped up its maneuvers in the Eastern Mediterranean region.
Earlier, Turkey and France had mutual claims about their attitude to the conflict in Libya. It came to aggressive actions taken by the crews of warships of the Turkish and French navies.
Emmanuel macron, commenting on the situation, said that Turkey's actions "do not resemble those of a NATO ally." Macron added that Turkey has been acting in this way for several years, ignoring the allied relations within the North Atlantic Alliance.
From the French President's statement:
I understand that Ankara only respects concrete actions. In this regard, we are ready to present them (the Turks) with "red lines" in the region. When it comes to respecting sovereignty in the Eastern Mediterranean, my words must match my actions.
According to Emmanuel Macron, Turkey intervenes in the Affairs of Syria and Libya, and also comes into conflict with Greece. The French President added that this is "an occasion to consider possible sanctions." Macron did not say what specific sanctions might be in question. But this statement has already caused outrage in Ankara.

It is not the first time with Turkey military, they have revealed themselves as shameless bullshitters as of late, so I immediately put in quarantine every CGI-like, shady video that comes from them, specially when they show the destruction of a whole army in a two minutes clip.
IR imaging or low resolution EO takes are low hanging fruit for today's video editing crews.

The yanquis showed their love for the Kiev regime by supplying it with old, expired stock. No way they sent these nazi clowns
the latest batches. So this incident does not quite prove anything other than what morons are in charge in Khuiv. But
regardless, the Javelin is overhyped crap. I want to see it engage real reactive armour and try to hit the turret from the
top.

Re: NATO: Discussion and News
Even during displays they had banks of hair dryers on wooden or metal frames blowing hot air directly onto the tank targets to make them easily visible to the missiles seeker.
I would guess that rubber like external layer of material they have been putting on their tanks for 40 odd years probably reduces the IR signature enough to make them useless in the fire and forget flight mode meaning these are super expensive CLOS missiles like Metis... but not as much penetration as Metis...

NATO 'annoyed' with Trump's delay in power transmission to Biden, according to Business Insider.

https://en.topwar.ru/180023-ssha-i-nato-pytajutsja-zastavit-germaniju-bolshe-tratit-na-oboronu.htmlUS and NATO are trying to force Germany to spend more on defense
Today, 11: 00
Germany and other NATO countries must increase defense spending. This would make the distribution of obligations among NATO members fairer.
This was announced on Monday by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at a press conference in Brussels.
This statement was made by him on the eve of the first videoconference since the election to the presidency of the United States Joe Biden, where the defense ministers of the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance will gather. It will take place tomorrow.
At a press conference, Stoltenberg called the overall high defense spending a necessary condition for the mutual protection of NATO countries. He proposed using additional funds for deploying troops on the eastern flank of the alliance, patrolling the airspace and military maneuvers.
The secretary general also announced that at the upcoming meeting he would propose to introduce certain requirements regarding the minimum standards of defense of NATO countries. In addition, he would like to make more frequent consultations to coordinate actions at the political level of the 30 states of the North Atlantic Alliance.
According to the American publication Politico, the new US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin intends to remind allies in the alliance of the need to invest appropriate funds in strengthening military power.
The US and NATO are stubbornly and so far unsuccessfully trying to force Germany to spend more on defense in the first place. Tomorrow they will have another next attempt. And the main goal is, of course, not the collective defense of NATO, but the maintenance of the huge bureaucratic apparatus of this military bloc and the promotion of the products of the American military-industrial complex on its territory.

Yes... you must spend more on defence... specifically buy more old American weapons... or we will sabotage your energy supplies.... oops... no... you must spend more on defence AND we will sabotage your energy supplies...
Still, not as bad as the Ukraine... it is clear the US sold them the first generation Javelin... the one you have to throw yourself....

A handy map of some of the Russian and NATO/European military exercises from last year. I think it is very useful when intelligence agencies release unclassified reports like this, especially with military figures (they really help journalists writing on defense topics).
