I love how minor vessels from minor flotilla were the ones who redefined entire concept of naval warfare in the span of several minutes Cool

Also I am seeing 3 Buyan-Ms so it's good that Caspian Fleet is back to standard strength, that lake is the best possible location to keep them, pretty much untouchable while they can hit half the Middle East no problem

    TASS

The rescue ship Voevoda promised to be commissioned in 2022

Project 23700 Voyevoda, the lead rescue vessel, built at the Yantar Baltic shipyard, will be handed over to the RF Ministry of Industry and Trade in 2022. This was stated in an interview with TASS by the general director of the enterprise Ilya Samarin.
“In our plans for 2022, we primarily have the delivery to customers of those ships and vessels that have been brought to a significant degree of technical readiness. Among them is the lead ship for providing emergency rescue operations of project 23700 Voevoda, which we are building by order of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.” , - he said.

The head of the shipyard noted that the main goal of the enterprise this year is to conclude new contracts that will determine the perspective loading of Yantar for the coming years. "Serious backlog in the development of our production could be provided by serial orders from the Ministry of Defense, as well as civilian departments and fishing companies," he said.

Project 23700 rescue vessels were developed by Severny PKB. The lead ship Voevoda was laid down in April 2017 at the Yantar shipyard by order of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The contract for the construction of the vessel was signed in December 2016. The ship was planned to be handed over to the customer by November 2019.

The vessel of project 23700 is designed to ensure the conduct of emergency rescue operations, as well as the transportation and supply of small-sized search and rescue boats. The vessel is capable of carrying four boats on board and receiving two helicopters. Displacement - 7,500 tons, length - 111 meters, width - 24 meters, speed - 22 knots, cruising range - 5,000 miles.

New logistic support vessel "Vsevolod Bobrov" arrived in Novorossiysk
The crew completed the inter-fleet transition from the Baltic to the Black Sea Fleet

SEVASTOPOL, January 13. /TASS/. The crew of the Vsevolod Bobrov, a logistic support vessel, has completed its passage from the Baltic Sea and arrived in Novorossiysk. This was reported to journalists on Thursday in the press service of the Black Sea Fleet.

"The logistic support vessel Vsevolod Bobrov has arrived at the permanent deployment point at the Novorossiysk Naval Base. The crew completed the inter-naval transition from the Baltic to the Black Sea Fleet together with the mine defense ship Georgy Kurbatov," the report says.

The vessel "Vsevolod Bobrov" was accepted into the Navy in August, and the St. Andrew's flag was raised on it, the press service recalled. During the transition to the Black Sea, the crew performed tasks in various sailing conditions and confirmed their readiness to work in stormy conditions.

The project of the vessel was developed by the St. Petersburg Design Bureau "Spetsudoproekt", its displacement is 9.5 thousand tons, cruising range - more than 5 thousand miles, autonomy - 60 days. The vessel is designed for the carriage of goods, towing, carrying out hydrographic research, providing assistance to ships in distress. The hull is designed to overcome 0.6 m thick ice.

Tom Hanks did a movie a few years back in which he played the captain of a ship hijacked by pirates and one of these is used for the crew to escape.

I think I read somewhere the idea is for it to be able to launch the lifeboat even if the ship is listing badly at the time, but also for the acceleration to allow the boat to move away from the sinking ship rapidly to avoid getting dragged under if it goes...
