zg18 wrote:Some sources on Tweeter claim Jabhat Al-Nusra is forced to send some 4-5000 fighters from Idlib to plug hole in Aleppo front, which means:

    1. Rebel battle group southern Aleppo has been decimated

    2. The (best) terrorist/rebel reserve units are now forced to fight an open plain battle against IRGC/Hezbollah/SAA who have Russian aviation support

I was just thinking along the lines and before i saw the above information. The SYrian army
had only reverses in Hama after capturing territory almost lost it all their gains as fast as they captured regions there. but in Aleppo the front seemed way more easier.. it seems to me that
US and its alliance were expecting Russia to assault first Idlib and go in full scale to near the
Turkey border first. and that also were moving to Hama too in full force.. but what happened?
They skipped Idlib almost completely and sent its biggest numbers and best forces to Aleppo.
Effectively fooling the west and attacking them in their weakest points.

What this new offensive shows without a doubt ,is that the man power of the terrorist is not as unlimited as believed.. and the fact that they are ordering now to move to Aleppo confirms that.
the Syrian Army now needs to Rush to the north and take Al-Bab which is the major city most closer to Turkey border withing ~25km and fortify the city with artillery to stop the turkey army and with mobile airdefenses too to block any flight in norther Syria for NATO. and use that city as base to start operations against center alepo and northen idlib with the intention to cut the supply lines of the terrorist. that will force terrorist to come out of from the security of the cities and fight in open plains to prevent Syrian army from cutting for the first time in the conflict in 4 years the supply lines to center and norther Syria. This will be really bad news.. Without food or even without fuel ,the terrorist will have no way to fight and move in any tank or truck or pickup and will be doomed to stay inside cities and starve to death.

All said Northen aleppo needs to be taken now. before the city center.
Supply lines is the most important thing ,once the enemy supply lines cut , they will
be forced to leave their fortifications inside any city and open the supply lines again
fighting in the open. This is why Turkey is now speaking pushing to create a "Safe zone" and where this safe zone will be created? exactly in Northern Aleppo to shield Russia from cutting their supply lines to the terrorist. and for sure they will use the refugees in turkey as hostages and human shields and relocated them by force inside Syria in northern aleppo. to stop Russia from bombing their army .

Because the Syrian army can significantly accelerate the defeat of the terrorist by cutting
their supply lines.without food people die ,without munitions they cannot fight.. and in one or two months they will surrender if missing one of those. Because they have near 100,000 fighters
according to Russia FSB.. maintaining such a large army logistics and food will be a nightmare
with the border of turkey closed by Syrian army..

IF you look at this recent map.

    Syrian Civil War: News #3 - Page 35 Rojava_june_2015

You will see that the Syrian army can take advantage of the kurds ,who hate turkey and ISIS..
and will not allow majority of them any food or munitions to cross from turkey over its controlled
zones .  If supply lines cut in northern alepo ,.. the Rebels in RAqa that Syrian army is not remotely close fighting , could collapse even without a fight for lack of food. the Lebanon supply routs cut.. and IRAQ moving to cut the supply lines from northern iraq too. The Jihadist in central Syria probably receive supply from the east of Syria and Syrian army is advancing too in Hama and Homes. If things goes the same way , terrorist will be encircled in all zones withing a week or two including damascus and the supply lines from Turkey shutdown.  Idlib is not so important  because is locked from Kurds who control the zones of border of turkey. North of latakia/IDlib with turkey are mountainous areas that cars cannot travel or blocked by kurds .  they need to receive supplies from Turkey from northern aleppo. By closing the aleppo
border with turkey it will seriously damage the whole performance of the terrorist.. if they start  to lack of munition and food.

meanwhile a video of Armenian volunteers in Aleppo in street fight. . Smile

I think an attack on the rebel held areas of Aleppo city will follow once they secure the surrounding country side and cut the main jihadi supply lines.

The pro-gov twitter accounts are reporting that the pro-jihadis have embarked on a major propaganda operation after these losses with a bunch of new accounts being opened. They are trying to boost the morale of their supporters by claiming a Nusra counterattack has been launched by the reinforcements from Hama and Idlib...

Al-Nusra has reportedly asked some smaller groups to take over the "cold" sections of the front so they can concentrate their forces in South Aleppo front.

Yes they are deployed in small numbers (probably 4 or 5) , The footage of Shahed-129 firing in Aleppo was aired by state media (IRIB Channel 1)

Even we had many reports about their existence before

US trying to keep up on the PR front saying they are doing something and having an effect.

The airstrike a US warplane carried out in Syria on Thursday targeted the Islamic State militant, best known as "Jihadi John," who appeared in gruesome videos of the killings of American and British hostages.

"US forces conducted an airstrike in Raqqa, Syria, on November 12, 2015 targeting Mohamed Emwazi, also known as "Jihadi John", the Pentagon said in a statement Thursday.

Pentagon spokesman Peter Cook said that Washington was still evaluating the effectiveness of the strike in the de facto capital of Islamic State and that it was not yet clear if the extremist had been successfully eliminated. "We are assessing the results of tonight's operation and will provide additional information as and where appropriate," Cook said. "We are 99 percent sure we got him," a senior US military official told Fox News broadcaster Friday.

If “Jihadi John’s” death is confirmed, it would be an important milestone in the US-led campaign against the terrorist group. Mohammed Emwazi was a London-based British citizen and computer programing graduate. He appeared in videos released by Islamic State last year that showed the killings of US journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff and US aid worker Peter Kassig.

By the way, ATGM's have gone down from about 70 in the same period last month to 33 this month. You can't fire TOW's when you're being hunted. It looks like the Iranians are doing this the old way, throwing bodies to the problem and it seems like it's working.

Unless you have a highly disciplined force, once it is falling back and there are no longer prepared defensive lines, it is very difficult to stop it falling apart into scattered and semi abandoned groups or individuals. Almost invariably the injured are left to their fate. It turns into a huge mopping up operation, probably with lots of piles of black clothes around the place.

Where are these 5000 fighters who were to counterattack in Aleppo? I sensed the attack isn't going to take place since they have to take these fighters from someone else.

I admire his bravery but it's actually quite insane. He is on the frontline without any body armour, helmet etc. Could anyone imagine a high intelligence general from US, Russia, Britain on the frontlines like that. Suspect

Currently, pinzer of attack is directed at Zerbeh. They want to force them to retreat from Khan Tuman and Qarassi , similar strategy was more than successful at Hadher.
