What are they waiting for? Why aren't they staring new stuff?
They need to mine more ore first.
Haven't you ever played Red Alert?
Funnily enough, no I haven't.
I played Tiberum Sun but never finished.

Well go play it, the 1st one.
You'll learn a few things about sub construction.
It needs money

Large earthhquakes release energy equal to THOUSANDS of such bombs, and that is the sort of energy needed to create the large tsunamis. 100mT will generate local surges at key tagets like cities and port facilities, but not along entire coastlines.
I'd suggest that Poseidon is intended as a counter-force weapon, ie 2nd strike, for use against major cities like NYC/Manhatten and LA, ie guarantees that no matter what happens (ie how effective US ABM measures are), the big coastal US cities will be wiped away with incalculable losses.
The other option is as a tactical weapon to take down carriers. I have no problem believeing that a Posiedon can outrun and/or evade the ASW defenses of a CBG and take down the giant white elephant(s) lurking at the center. The USN sock puppets love yabbering about the potential of AI-equipped UUVs so I guess they know it as well
tsunami & radiation will effect only up to 100 miles inland. Even if both US coasts lines + the Mexican Gulf r hit along their entire length, it won't be enough to contaminate all of N. America.Poseidon is meant to crush entire continents. Its a continent destroyer.
The most closed Navy project is the Khabarovsk nuclear submarine of project 09851, the regular carrier of the promising nuclear unmanned aerial vehicles Poseidon, being built at Sevmash in Severodvinsk, will be launched at the end of May, sources in the defense industry said. After the descent, the submarine will be completed afloat, and then will go on trials, which will take at least two years. The prospects for a unique development are discussed by experts.
Today it is known that the development of “Status-6”, called “Poseidon”, will be put on combat alert in the amount of 32 units, for this purpose it is specially planned to build 8 submarines.
Khabarovsk [Project 09852] will be floated out in late June at the earliest.
The first basic carrier of Poseidon drones, a Project 09852 special-purpose nuclear sub, the Belgorod, was floated out on April 23, 2019 and is expected to enter service with the Russian Navy in September.
The Belgorod and the Khabarovsk are expected to carry six Poseidon drones each.

to be intercepted & sunk in shallow waters by larking NATO subs?If the Poseidon has true intercontinental performance they could be launched from fixed structures, eg concealed launchers built into the terrain on Kola peninsula.

Carrier subs on patrol in their bastions can launch them w/o being detected.
