The jihadist above that will suicide.. LOL and his terrorist friend telling him to
"make it count" , in other words , to take with him more people lives . Russia can use
this tweet as evidence that the "peaceful " moderates are nothing but terrorist ,who
have no values for life.
ABout Aleppo.. you don't need to physically encircle a city to cut it out from the outside.
Once trucks and cars of the terrorist are are under visual range of Syrian artillery and or even better kornets.. (5km). it will be very hard, next to suicide to try to send supplies inside Aleppo.
In fact the Syrian Army if they are fully well armed with Russia ,with enough 5km Kornets.. lets
say thousands of them and very well reinforced their positions. They could use as tactic ,not to fully close the encirclement and leave a 5km area open. because that will give the false impression to jihadist that it is still open and that they have a chance to pass through the gate.
If they fully close it.. then the attempts to cross the gate will end and jihadist will remain hidden inside. Syria army and Russia needs to try to force terrorist to leave the security of the cities ,using civilians as human shields. is more easier to get them outside cities.
the advantage however of physically encircle aleppo however is that it will allow Syria army to
free some soldiers and relocate them in other fronts.. this is specially true if the terrorist are very weakened and cannot counter attack and all they can do is hide inside cities.
But to cut the supply lines , if the Syrian army is well supplied by Russia with decent stuff ,
it will be possible to cut Rebels supply lines even from 30km distance. by throwing mines for example and by using accurate artillery ,in enought numbers. still a crazy suicide muslin could get lucky and sneak with a motorbike with some luck.
All this means ,that by just looking at the map of Syrian army positions ,is not always the case ,that is enough information, to know how well they doing. Because we don't know yet exactly what are their strategy and intentions. Somewhere i read , that the Syrian army was using
and strategy *in some places* , of clearing a zone ,then retreating and allowing the terrorist to re-take an abandoned city and the bomb them again there, this was done to more easily target
them ,to pick the place of fighting ,to lure them away of civilians populated zones for a fight.
Mongols who developed one of the most effective tactics in the battlefield used a tactic that still today can be very effective. they simply charge with their horses into their enemies ,and attacked with bows from safe distance.. then lured their enemies away of their formations.
provoking them to chase them ..and they later counter attack the split forces more easily. it was hit and run tactics. .with those tactics they conquered all Asia. Naturally rebels cannot effectively do that with Russian airforce in control of the airspace ,but Syrian army can.
Yet instead of horses ,they can use motorbikes. and instead of bows they can use kornets.
Tactics can take any form ,and retreats are not always a sign of defeat.
With the right military hardware ,If Russia really operate with all the capabilities their army have, it is possible to cut any supply line even 30km away of it ,in norther Syria by mining roads and precision artillery (30km distance) ,making it really dangerous and close to suicide to try to cross any road by car ,using very good surveillance network.
This means that right now.. Syrian army is withing 30km distance from Turkey border in northern aleppo and Russia have the tools to close the border with enough artillery and smart weapons. It all depends if Russia was ready to reveal all their cards to their enemy too early . It will be better if Russia save their best stuff ,for the defense of their base to stop an invading Turkey or NATO army. definitively Russia will get a lot of valuable experience in Syria ,that will help them to fully understand how to fight radical Mercenaries ready to die , significantly armed and helped by NATO and their airforce
