Thanks for the map. Another historic day. I would like to see the gap immediately north of Aleppo closed to stop the rats retreating into the city itself.

Excellent, congrats to SAA and RuAF. Now they will have to liberate villages Mayer, Rityan and Biyanoun to wider this corridor. After liberating the gap between Kuweires and Allepo, SAA should start operation to the east to reach Euphrates river and to reach Kurds. After theat, they should go down the river to liberate Raqqa and Deir Ezzor.

I was going to post about that. Ever since the Russians joined the war, SAA & friends' frontline strategy looks nothing like those "crowdfunded", "moderate" freedom fighters' approach. It's all about wrecking high value targets, cutting supplies, using artillery and infantry properly and where necessary create Debaltsevo-like kettles.

As for linking up Aleppo with Nubol/Zahra this is momentous news. Oh well, there goes the "Russians have had no impact", "1% only reclaimed" remarks. As if war modern was ever about counting sq m of territory, rather than real estate value.

Russian army use also close combat, weapons equipped by radar sights along with the optoelectronic sights.
Radar sights work in centimetric and millimetric wave bands that make it possible detecting targets and providing weapons guidance at any time, in all weather conditions as well as smokescreen and dustiness of atmosphere.
Portable Multiple Target Surveillance and Weapon Guidance Radar «Fara-1» (1L111) is used as a radar sight in the Russian Armed Forces and was adopted in 1999.
Radar Sight Fara-1 is designed for moving land objects surveillance (single person, group of people, armoured vehicles) and guidance of automatic grenade launcher AGS-17 type, single and heavy machine guns such as Pecheneg and Kord.
Weapons guidance at a moving target is fulfilled by operator at the signal maximum from the target reflection and with it the target range is determined by the radar indicator.
The radar sight manpack set is a portable device carried by one person in the folded state behind an the pack.
Radar sight works in continuous emission mode. Complex signal with double modulation is used for rain influence and flying birds avoidance in the radar near-field.

United States obsession in to defeat Syria ,will lead that nation into its biggest
Public Relations nightmare ,when ISIS and "moderates" sponsored by Obama defeated
and more and more evidence show up ,the true nature of the criminal factions that
United States was sponsoring. When all the civilians from liberated cities start speaking.

And last but not least.. US will isolate itself in the world , with their alliance with
Turkey and Saudi Arabia and terrorism. It will drive away Europeans of Americans government
leadership in the world and create rebellions specially for all European countries suffering now
the consequences of the refugees. The Signs are everywhere.. from the EU top leadership

Have to agree with you 100%. The oligarchic elite that has captured control of Western Shamocracies doesn't have any sense of decency or feel any shame about their endless lies and attempts to manipulate the the public, but the people are taking note of the absurd lies peddled by the pressitutes in the MSM, and they are rejecting the official narratve in ever-increasing numbers. You only need to read the publics comments on Syria articles on even the pro-establishment flag-waving media sites (like Yahoo for instance) to see that even the unwashed mouth-breathers are smelling the dead rat behind the sofa.

I am reminded of the old joke for the USSR - "There is no truth in the news, and no news in the truth". It is such a fitting epitaph for the elite-owned corporate-controlled MSM echo-chamber that we laughingly call the "free press"....

Personally, I would rather see the offensive in NE Latakia continue to drive to Jisr al-Shugur and then onto Idlib, and ultimately meet the Aleppo offensive to pincer the JN and FSA mercenary scum. While the Western-supported rats continue to hold territory, there will always be whiny noises from Uncle Sham and their Eurotrash satraps about the need to "negotiate". With these terrorist mercenary forces crushed and/or marginalized, the West would face the agonizing choice of either having to concede defeat, or to defend ISIS. The former would be delicious in the extreme, but the latter (which is probably more likely) would utterly demolish what is left of the credibility of Mordors NWO.

I have ZERO sympathy for the Axis powers in this struggle. If only there could be a Nuremburg-style reckoning afterwards....

I think that the push for Jisr al Shugur and Idlib city will happen, but for this to happen the Turkish border needs to be sealed. It seems to me the main tactic is to keep the terrorist scum guessing, one minute the SAA etc are focusing on one area to then suddenly turn there attention to somewhere else which i think is working well, but only problem is this sometimes leaves areas lightly defended by NDF etc and as we have seen recently that the village Al-Khalidiyah along the Aleppo-Damascus Highway (M-5 Highway) has been captured. But this is an only a minor setback and no doubt will be retaken. However due to lack of manpower this quick switch of focus tactic is really the only way the SAA can operate. The only real way to gain more men is for the SAA to capture the small isolated areas for example the small pocket of terrorists north of Izra. Hopefully with the success in northern Aleppo and cutting the supply line this will have a great effect on the terrorists, although the SAA now need to widen there hold on this area by taken back Mayir, Biyanoun, Hayyan and Rityan.

And now with the threat of ISIS taking the Khanasser-Ithriyah Road you might find the planned attack in northern Homs might be put on hold for troops to be sent to push back ISIS. As for the assault west of Kuweires Military Airbase i think ISIS will be totally enveloped very soon and all those ISIS scum trapped will be annihilated Very Happy then the SAA will no doubt turn there attention directly north of there towards Al bab which will also help take back one of the main roads into Aleppo city.

It took them 5 damn years. 5 F****** years. FTS.

Sometimes you really can't help yourself but thinking that Russia realized that the SAA was done in 2015 when it brought out the cadre structure and the VKS.

I've ranted about MPR's since forever. These popped out in U Crying almost immediately. They had to take 5 years in Syria. Also, Iran not having these is strange.

Then what should be Russia<s answer to invasion? just UN? arming Kurds and more stuff to SAA (although thy have not enough manpower to fight Turks)? Nevertheless probability of a full scale war Russia-Turkey I consider low.

Putin`s trap for Erdogan is working, you have to be blind not to see that Russian strategic goal is to force Turkish hand in Syria.
