With four corvettes 2-3 Gorshkovs, Varyag and the Nakhimov, only the Vladivostock is missing from this beeing a strong and multitasking force.

Yes but knowing Amur the Pacific Fleet won't see these ships for a decade from now.

Of course they will have to Russianise all the components including Gas Turbine engines and other components to make them all Russian vessels.

That might cause delays... and indeed further delays as the new Russian versions might require a bit of work to get them up to scratch and the kinks worked out.

i think there should be more ships of that class already in service, if there as that extent of corruption

there will need to be a balance between production capacity and need.

No point creating the production capacity of 1,000 new boats a year if after 6 months all the boats they need are made and all that production capacity is left idle.

Equally some production capacity will be tied up with exports and civilian programs an indeed upgrades.

Russian Shipyard to Construct Two Project 20380 Corvettes

The latest Retivy and Strogy corvettes (Project 20380) will be laid down at the St. Petersburg-based Severnaya Verf shipyard on February 20. This was announced by Igor Ivanovsky, a spokesman for the shipyard.

The ships of this class have unique tactical and technical characteristics and combat capabilities. Their main advantages include versatility, compactness, high level of automation and integration of control systems.

“The ships will be laid down at the Severnaya Verf shipyard on February 20, the official ceremony will begin at 14.00,” Mr. Ivanovsky informed.

It should be noted that Project 20380 ships have a displacement of 2,000 tons, a length of 100 meters, a maximum speed of 27 knots and an autonomous navigation range of up to 4,000 miles. The corvettes will be armed with the Uran antiship missile complex, Redut antiaircraft missile system, and Paket-NK antisubmarine unit.

Military confirmed the failure of deadlines of corvettes 20380

Its a shame that such a small ship takes 5-6 years to enter service

Lol they are blaming sanctions on Amur missing the timetable?

They missed the original plans like 3 times before any sanctions even existed.

This is getting ridiculous. While other class frigates are being built fairly quickly, these are pathetically slow. Why not give contract to other shipyard?

Anyone know if the delays are related to engine procurement?

No. The vessels they are building are under the original 20380 plan anyways- pretty sure they were to have Kolomensky diesels from the start.

Amur is just in a hole period. According to some good posters on Balancers:
-Shipyard is on the brink of bankruptcy
-Civilian and Military work is barely proceeding
    -Ex-director is under house arrest
-There is not even an order for the composite superstructure for the second corvette (it is built at a separate facility)....
-No money, nobody is giving them credits and MOD does not have the funds to burn to bail them out
-Further problems with money in regards to the shipyard being merged within the DCSS consotrium. Has to do with the amount of money stolen in the ongoing Zvezda project (Shocker!).

It would be nice if they could finish soon, the PF really needs new ships. Hopefully Amur shipyard is improving with this so it can begin making Gorshkovs also.

Amur is not improving, if anything it is deeper and deeper into shit.

Making Gorshkov frigates is like making the Death Star for them at the moment.
