It looks a lot as the IRI Baher 23mm rifle, but the bolt looks for a smaller calibre and the round is really slow on that clip. Bossibly Garage build 14.5mm. It is a 14.5mm round. You can see at extraction.

I originally thought it was ULR 50, but wasn't sure, then tried looking for Chinese, Pakistani, NATO AMRs. The round is rather slow but the rifle seems very light and basic.

Most likely everything except bore is garage made, it has signs of recent and not very good tooling, plus it has no "match" finish, its naked metal it didnt even go though browning or bluing. Also notice bipod.

My personal view is that Russia should have a global social networking site which is safe unlike the US/west based services. Lots of plans (legitimate or not) and details are getting shared by the men with their confidants in the media (like the one posted below) and it is possible that the terrorist supporters in HQ is keeping a watch on their shortlisted twitter handles (and other social sites) so that they get the latest updates. Info like these can be passed on to the terrorists through most secured lines and help them better plan and prepare for any SAA+ offensives.

Rightly so the areas where the offensives are going to be has been censored, but the guys in HQ supporting their terrorists might have seen the info.

Notice flags. Reminded me of one song in Serbian. Lyrics in one moment say: "Trobojka napred viori, zastava moja i tvoja" - "Threecolor flag is waving in front of us, flag yours and mine".

    Good move by Damascus

BEIRUT, February 17. /TASS/. Syria's President Bashar al-Assad issued a decree announcing an amnesty for those who deserted the army before February 17, 2016, the national SANA news agency said on Wednesday.

The decree, announced by the news agency, said that the law would apply to the military deserters outside and inside Syria who violated the country’s military law before February 17, 2016 and would not apply to those who are under investigation or fled from arrest.

The presidential decree has come into force after publication.

I assume the next step for SAA will be to seal the Latakia border, then prepare for pushing further to Bdama and Sirmaniyah.

Anyone else smell a PR rat here? To me it doesn't look like reinforcing Azaz, it looks like pulling them and their stuff out of Idlib before they get pummeled. Clearly reinforcing Aleppo itself was not in the plan.

AMMAN - Syrian rebels have brought at least 2,000 reinforcements through Turkey in the past week to bolster the fight against Kurdish-led militias north of Aleppo, rebel sources said on Thursday. Turkish forces facilitated the transfer from one front to another over several nights, covertly escorting rebels as they exited Syria's Idlib governorate, traveled four hours across Turkey, and re-entered Syria to support the embattled rebel stronghold of Azaz, the sources said.

"We have been allowed to move everything from light weapons to heavy equipment, mortars and missiles and our tanks," Abu Issa, a commander in the Levant Front, the rebel group that runs the border crossing of Bab al-Salama, told Reuters, giving his alias and talking on condition of anonymity.
The reinforcements did not include fighters from the hardline Nusra Front or other jihadist groups, he said.

Yeah I sort of agree, these must be an excess of insurgents from the Latakia front that for various reasons could not be re-located to Idlib (due to ethnicity and/or Turkey not wanting to show its crew is in bed with AQ proper). Latakia province right now is well over 95% controlled by SAA, all major towns and villages.
