I served with AK derivates, M92 and M21S, first having no plastic parts, later one having just furniture made out of polymer. But i did use polymer pistols few times Glock17 mostly, and it had plenty of small metal alloy parts to take harash friction jobs from polymers.

Well most pistols nowdays feature a lot of polymere content. The german P9 (Pistol 9) an USP 9mm derivate for Bundeswehr use has only upper part (reciever) made of metal, the grip is polymere and due that feels very unbalanced, but i haven't fired any other pistol besides P9 and Glock 19 or 17, do not even remember only that i missed 19 out of 20 shoots due the wierd design of safety being at the trigger which was confusing to me, not about function but about handling, just unusual design.

I carried CZ99 whenever i could instead of M92 coz it makes my hands free and its just alot more convinient. CZ99 is again full metal pistol, based on SiG226 so my field experience with polymer weapons is very limited. But i guess they offer lower price of production, are faster to produce, somewhat lighter and most importantly production of such pistols offers far greater % of profit for companies producing them. Pistol prices for armies and police forces went very little down compared to full metal pistols, simply coz % of profit "ate" production costs.

The first part of the photo report from International Exhibition "Interpolitex-2015" that was held from 20th to 23rd October 2015 in Moscow.
Demonstration program of the exhibition included tactical exercises and demonstration of military and police special equipment at the special testing and shooting range of the Federal State Enterprise “Geodesia” in the town of Krasnoarmeysk. Special units from Ministry of Internal Affairs, Federal Drug Control Service and Federal Service for Execution of Punishments took part in the demonstration, as well as military vehicles.
