Finally Palmyra is almost under full control.
Its been really fast, they kept the momentum and now airport and Orchards are under SAA. Its better to keep an exit route open so that the remaining terrorists can escape Palmyra and hence minimise fighting/destruction inside Palmyra. We need a Syrian flag in the icons.

Part of Palmira and airport east of Palmira are liberated, they expect Palmira will be soon liberated.

Palmyra is practically center of Syria. Excellent, that they liberate airport there. Now they have to liberate 20 km range of perimeter around airport and than they could install there a squadron of Syrian Su-24 or a group of Russian jets or helicopters and they will have all targets very near to bomb and destroy. From there they could effectively control whole eastern Syria.

Most probably ISIL get some reinforcement on those two incoming roads. Air force will have to bomb those convoys constantly in the desert, before they reach their destination.

Fair enough, bad choice of words by me. More like the SyAA not got that far as opposed to ISIS getting it back.

Capturing the airfield in a day did seem pretty amazing given ISIS will be dug in.
