"Serbia's authorities are investigating reports that a cargo package bound for the US containing two missiles with explosive warheads was found on a passenger flight from Lebanon to Serbia. N1 television said the package with two guided armor-piercing missiles was discovered Saturday by a sniffer dog after an Air Serbia flight from Beirut landed at Belgrade airport.



Serbian media say documents listed the final destination for the AGM-114 Hellfire missiles as Portland, Oregon. The American-made projectiles can be fired from air, sea or ground platforms. N1 reported Sunday that Air Serbia is helping in the investigation. The Serbian flag carrier says "security and safety are the main priorities for Air Serbia."

"Seselj been charged with nine counts, found not guilty

The Hague tribunal for former Yugoslavia found Serbian ex-Deputy Prime Minister Vojislav Seselj not guilty on all counts. He was accused of being complicit in crimes against humanity in Croatia and Bosnia committed by Serbian militias between 1991 and 1993. "With this acquittal on all nine counts of the indictment the arrest warrant issued by the appeals chamber is rendered moot," said Antonetti. "Vojislav Seselj is now a free man."



Seselj, who was leader of the nationalist Serbian Radical Party, stood accused of inciting and financing crimes against Croat, Muslim and other non-Serb populations committed by the Serbian militias from 1991 to 1993. Justice Jean-Claude Antonetti said the militias did not directly take orders from Seselj, even though the SRP took part in recruitment. The not guilty verdict for all nine counts was passed unanimously. The verdict was announced in absentia, as Seselj was reportedly medically unfit to travel to the Netherlands from a clinic in Serbia, where he is being treated for terminal cancer. Despite his illness, the 61-year-old nationalist leader remains engaged in Serbian politics. He is expected to give a media briefing later on Thursday.



Seselj surrendered to the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in February 2003 days after his indictment. He spent almost 12 years in custody before being released for medical reasons in November 2014. The prosecution was asking for a 28-year prison term for Seselj. The man defended himself and pleaded not guilty, but said he expected to be handed down a 25-year term. Last week, the ICTY sentenced former Serb leader Radovan Karadzic to 40 years in prison after finding him guilty on 10 charges out of 11, including two counts of genocide and five counts of crimes against humanity. The verdict sparked protests in Serbia and was criticized by Belgrade and Moscow, which said the tribunal was not a venue for justice but a biased instrument for settling scores."

While Belgrade is interested in becoming part of the European Union, it would not do so if the cost would be hurting Serbia’s relations with Russia, Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said during a Moscow visit.

“We want to become part of the European Union since it would serve our interest. We are a country that geographically and politically is part of Europe. But it cannot be done at a cost of our good relations with the Russian Federation,” he said at a joint conference with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov.

Dacic added that Serbia has no intention of joining NATO, an organization that bombed the former Yugoslavia during the Balkan Wars. Serbia is still coping with the consequences of that military action, the minister said.

“Belgrade would not engage closer with NATO for the sake of the Serbian people, not Russia,” the Serbian official stressed. “Most Serbian citizens stand against becoming a member of the alliance.”

Serbia does have good ties with Greece, however nothing beyond that. We probably have similar ties with Italy or Romania for that matter. One politician that had major ties with Greece was belive it or not Radovan Karadžić.

I aggree no voting rights for pensioners, they will vote but the results of those votes will only hit younger generations. The problem is that old people are the main voters and that is why every damn country is trying to appeal to the old while fucking the young and the old bastards vote for the worst look at Merkel, CDU,SPD shit in this country, not that others are better but the german habit, my granny voted for them so they must be good. There are 3 old couples in my building, they all vote for SNS/Vučić, coz their activists came 2-3 times and gifted them some basic groceries like flour, sugar, salt, canned food etc. They literally bought 6 votes for 100USD, bargain.
