Very difficult to see that those are SU-30SMs. I think these are the same SU-24s from the other video.

i wonder if Russia will send Su-24's kinda makes sense seeing as there geared for ground attack and Russia are slowing replacing them so also makes sense to run up the flying hours on them rather than Su-34, also if the worst happens and any get shot down or attacked while on the ground, Russia wouldn't be losing a new expensive aircraft. Also wonder if Su-25 will be deployed would be great to see its cannon being used on the scumbags.

Beautiful planes. Knowing that the rebels are firing grad toward the airport, I wish they had some hardened aircraft shelters.

Lenta reports that Israel have setup a coordination centre together with the Russian Air Force in order to avoid incidents. Reuters reports that Russian UAVs are performing intelligence tasks above Syrian ground.

These are clearly Su-24M fighter-bombers. Most probably Su-30SM will fly high and provide air cover and engage terrorists with longer range TV guided PGMs, while Su-24M will be a workhorse bombing terrorists with LGBs. I hope they will also use cluster bombs on ISIS convoys to destroy as much as possible. Destruction of ISIS will be a nightmare for Obama regime.

Nope, I would like Russians to take on Jaysh Al Fateh, not ISIS. JAF is the driving force, the point man in the North. They are those who get plenty of shit from US and Turkey. Onece JAF does its mess ISIS usually comes on their footsteps and takes over. Look at how it got Raqqah. So First relieve pressure from JAF attacks on Idlib area, then ISIS would have to move to fill the vacuum. Carpetboming the shit out of those fvckers in standoff battles like those around Qalamoun last year, should help the Kurds scoop in from Hasaka area and cut Daesh axis Raqqah , Der Az Zour. The shift in forces would prompt Daesh to either retreat and block the Kurds or stay put and get decimated. Once they can't use Raqqah Der Az Zour, they will be forced to use Palmyra as their next hub. Once Daesh goes back to the old hide and seek game. Then Help the Syrian strike the "moderates". And no pussyfooting around with it.

You may be right, but I would prefer the Russians to start their a-g campaign 'behind enemy lines' near the Syrian-Turkish border (and then along the Syrian-Isreali border after Russia has boosted its defence & strike capability) to specifically target their supply lines. This wont impact the terrorists directly, but there will be instant and enormous psy on the terrorists fighting on the frontlines. Once they get the message clear about their logistical tail being cut off, the Syrian army push will be much more easier as these assholes will more likely be pulling out much quickly than what it was earlier.KoTeMoRe wrote:medo wrote:Morpheus Eberhardt wrote:

The primary objective of the campaign should be (and might be) to regain lost ground and I feel this will be be helpful. Once SAA push these scumbags to the border with Turkey, start cleansing these pigs. Those which escape will be going into Turkey and their problem.

Russian Air Force Given Full Access to the Hmaymat Airbase in West Latakia
By Leith Fadel on September 21, 2015
This past weekend, the Russian Air Force was given full access to the Hmaymat Military Airbase inside the Latakia Governorate’s western countryside after the Syrian Arab Army’s Central Command approved the Russian Navy’s recent delivery of Sukhoi fighter jets through the Syrian port-city of Tartous.
The Hmaymat Military Airbase is located inside the Bassel Al-Assad International Airport, which sits just east of the densely populated coastal city of Jableh in western Latakia.
With full access to the Hmaymat Military Airbase’s airfields, the Russian Air Force possesses a temporary airbase to begin their aerial operations above the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham’s (ISIS) positions in Syria.
There has been much speculation regarding the location and existence of this alleged military airbase; this has even gone as far as news outlets falsifying reports about the alleged construction of a Russian military airbase in northwestern Syria.
According to a senior officer from the Syrian Air Defense in the Latakia Governorate, the Russian Federation has no immediate contingency to construct a military airbase because they have been granted full access to numerous airports around the country.
The source added that Russian military advisors have traveled as far east as Al-Hasakah and Deir Ezzor in order to inspect the Syrian Air Force’s equipment and to provide intelligence reports to the senior officers.
Russian military personnel are currently training and advising the civilian-led “National Defense Forces” (NDF) in the provinces of Latakia (Slunfeh), Tartous (Safita), and Homs (Wadi Al-Nasara area); this scheduled training is set to conclude in early November this year.

Russia have now 28 combat jets, which are 4 Su-30SM, 12 Su-24M and 12 Su-25 and around 20 Mi-24 and Mi-8 helicopters. I hope those Mi-24 helicopters are actually Mi-35 with night capabilities. I think Su-24 and Su-30SM will be used for strikes on terrorists behind the front line, while Su-25 and Hinds will support troops on the ground. Mi-35 with night capabilities will be specially valued for night attacks on terrorists. Russia also bring recce UAVs, most probably Orlan-10 or Orlan-30 and it will be interesting to see, how well will they work together with Hinds and Su-25 jets. Having satellite surveillance, recce UAVs and using ground informations from SAA, their strikes on terrorists will be very effective.
It would be good, If Russia send similar tactical group to Iraq to support Iraqi army on the other side and engage ISIS and other terrorists on two fronts. I think ISIS will than quite quickly fall apart and flee in Turkey and further in Europe. Having russian bases in Syria and Iraq could as well put some limitations on KSA influence and spreading of terrorism.

^^ more need to come and the same need to be done to Damascus
Set the Isreali crap aside and do everything that Russia can do to strengthen the SAA and all those who are fighting against the internationals terrorists.
Still waiting patiently to see the AD units arrive with Buk-M2/3, S-300s and the A-50 in due time. Wish & pray that these do come in due time to strengthen the Russian military.
Btw, can someone tell how many IL-20, IL-38 and A-50 can be at the disposal of Russian military if they are needed in Syria to strengthen the Russian foothold? I

They would need a rotation of 3 early warning planes to have sufficient coverage. Which is a little revolution for Russia.
