So now that Turkey is shelling Syrian territory and targeting Syrian (and Russian) troops what should the response be?
If it is true and there is proof then expect all hell to break loose. But all the reports today, inc MoD, seem to have him hit in a less politically explosive situation. Certainly Russia is not making a mountain out of it ATM.

On another subject, there seem to be quite a few terrorist commanders or leaders queuing for their virgins at the moment. Maybe its due to them feeling safer out with their troops than in C&C facilities so just a result of the general onslaught.

Wanted Turkey a war then they´d find another pretext. Experience shows thet nothing tragic happenes. Just Russia will finish sealing Syrian-Turkish border, kick the sh!t our of turkomanterrorists andthen not Russia of course but Syria will give weapons to Kurds Smile

But if Turkey can reach the current SAA position with its artillery and is actually shelling them, something needs to be done.

But I guess we need more info first.

"Jane's Defence Weekly" magazine article Nicholas de Larrinaga "Russia deploys Su-35S fighters to Syria" published made January 31, 2016 satellite image Hmeymim airbase, which rolled out the Russian aviation group in Syria. The picture confirms the arrival of four new multi-functional fighters Su-35S, as well as on the transfer in Hmeymim of one additional Sukhoi Su-24M to replace the downed from a Turkish fighter on November 24, 2015.

Karl Haushofer wrote:My heart says that Turkey should not get away with this, but shelling back Turkish territory would probably give Turkey a causus belli to start military invasion of Syria.

Don't worry, patience is a virtue. Turkey is on a current highway to Hell, with a coming cataclysm set to shatter Turkey in several pieces (history repeats itself). Lebanese statesman, General Michel Aoun, gave a speech back in 2011 warning Turkey that should they proceed to destabilize Syria, that it may very well boomerang and cause Turkey to break up in to 3 parts: A secular Turkey, a Islamist Turkey, and a Kurdish Turkey. Economically speaking you have a country that's heavily dependent on imports, while simultaneously having bad or even hostile relations with almost all their neighboring countries (yet another poisonous combination). Turks are despised by the majority of their NATO 'allies', and even before the current migrant crisis, Turks were some of the least liked ethnic groups in Europe, with wide spread reputations of poorly integrating in to European societies.

After the loss of the Su-24M, there was a discussion here between KoTeMoRe and me about whether Russia would play that event up or down. You know the answer to that question would have had a big impact on the prediction of the pace with which the current world war would continue unfolding. As it turned out, Russia clearly and unambiguously identified Turkey as the guilty party.

The 1st of Feb event seems to be very much related to the Turkish shelling of the Syrian positions. It remains to be seen what approach Russia has planned to take about attributing responsibility to it. It has already been said that there is a Russian military delegation in Turkey investigating it. Quite possibly Turkey is swearing black and blue that it wasn't them. Well, of course, it wasn't them; they are just automatons controlled by their masters.

As I have said on multiple occasions, I believe that the outcome of the current world war and that of the "second" world war would be fundamentally different, but for now the similarity between Turkey/ISIL and the Nazi Germany of "WWII" is 100%. Also, the current situation is 100% as disgusting as it was back then.

Yeah and basically Russia chose the easy way, by beating the Turkmens and affiliates down like a red headed stepchild. This would have happened sooner or later. I still do not believe it was done "by Turkey" (I mean there are enough ass-holes to do it, but we all have seen "advisors" and "hints" of them among those Syrian troops that are taking Jabal Akrad back. So the guys were going to get hit.

The other aspect is that we're making a fuss about a single tragedy. Iran lost 11 people yesterday, including a brigadier general. Like Al Pacino would say in Scarface figuratively speaking, first things first. Turkey's own losses are substantial (be that in men or proxies).

Russia wasn't deterred by such a public backstabbing as that SU24 shot down, do you think they'll stop because Turkish bases shell their people? Fuck some X55 will get lost on that base, some ATGM shipments will get lost in Turkish Kurdistan. Some more tourist attractions will get blown to pieces (dat Chechen connection). If Turkey wants to play that game, I guess they're the people who need to watch out their doorstep.

Only three so far is a good result.

Well, actually there has been 4 casualties in total so far. The 3 direct combat casualties and 1 suicide.

Newest Su-35 Will Remain on Standby 24/7 at Hmeymim Airbase

Newest Russian Su-35 figter jets will be on constant standby at Hmeyimim airbase in Syria, representative of the Russian Air Forces in Syria told journalists.

    http://sputniknews.com/middleeast/20160205/1034291987/russia-syria-su-35.html

“The planes will be kept in a state of constant readiness, with a pair of Su-35 ready to take off at a moment’s notice to provide assistance to other aircraft. A pair of Su-35 jets is capable of increasing other planes’ 360-degree detection radius up to 400 kilometers,” a representative of the Russian Aerospace Forces battlegroup in Syria told journalists.

According to the representative, the Su-35 is a multirole combat aircraft which will be used as an escort for the Russian aviation in Syria, as well as for attacks against ground and underground targets.

"At present, we have a task to use these jets as effectively as possible. These jets can carry all kind of bombs," the representative said.

Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry's spokesman Igor Konashenkov said that the advanced supermaneuverable Su-35S multirole fighters began combat missions in Syria.

Syria has been mired in a civil war since 2011, with the country’s government fighting against multiple opposition factions and extremist groups. The Russian Aerospace Forces have been conducting an aerial campaign against Islamist positions in Syria since September 30, following a request from President Bashar Assad.

Excellent find. thumbsup Syrian deployment is quite interesting. We first time see in Syria, that Russian army have Pantsir-S2, before we only know they have Pantsir-S1 and now we see, that they have R-77-1 missiles in armament. I hope RuAF will also send Ka-52 helicopters armed with Vikhr missiles.

It also shakes the credibility of some of our own "reputable" posters who are very cautious (and conservative) in their views...

Today, it is the "Russia-strong" folks who score a point against the guys who want to appear as "credible" and "authoritative".
